How strongly do you think Lucy Gray's impact on Snow affect the outcome of the rebellion? Let me know!

A thought that occurred to me is that Snow wanted to see Lucy die but it didn’t happen. Snow then saw Katniss as a reminder of Lucy and wanted to see her die as well but could never kill her. The spirit that both of them had could never be put out by Snow
I have a what if scenario I thought about the other day. I don't know if anyone has also thought of it but the what if is this. What if Lacy Gray showed up to the 75th hunger games reaping and volunteered in place of Katniss? How would this affect the story? Would Peeta still volunteer for Haymitch? How then would said games go? How would Snow react to her being alive and her entering the games? Would Lucy Gray reveal/confirm the theory about Mod Ivory being related to Katniss? Would the revolution still succeed? It's fun to think about. I also like to think in this scenario, Lucy Gray had made it to 13, and is in fact a rebel. If you like the idea feel free to use it for a video, but you don't have to. And again I'm not sure if I'm the first person to think of the idea
It's an interesting idea! My main hesitancy is the poetry of Lucy Gray's ending. The whole idea in the book as that we don't know if she's alive or not (just like the song) - so we aren't ever suppose to know. I honestly thought Snow was having a moment of insanity and didn't shoot anyone and that Lucy Gray left a few things, but ran off and lived in the woods till she died. She would've never bowed to the way things were ran in 13. She's a free bird.
Now that is a fanfic I would absolutely read 😮
Imagine if Suzanne Collins wrote a sequel book or sequel trilogy to the first three books. Where Katniss's daughter Willow is the protagonist. Set 15 or 20 years after Mockingjay. The plot of the book or trilogy can be about Snow's granddaughter Celestia Snow plotting to usurp President Paylor and reform the Hunger Games after 15 or 20 years of peace between the capital and the districts. Undoing what Katniss's rebellion fought for and regaining her grandfather's legacy. Exposing a loose end, Katniss left behind after the end of the rebellion. Under Celestia's power, the Hunger Games would no longer have children as tributes, but adults ages 18-45 as fighters. A new rebellion would begin to stop the new Hunger Games with Willow as the new Mockingjay with her mother Katniss as her mentor figure. Yay or nay?
Honestly, that kind of defeats the purpose of the ending of mockingjay...imo
Yeah honestly if she were to write more ,I'd say more back story would be the way to go. But we don't need full length novels for everything. I think Marissa Meyer was smart in that she added a book of short stories to the lunar chronicles series.
@TheGeekApprentice Maybe a new threat to Panem can play out then. One not involving THG and such.
At that point, that’s just a new series. It’s best to leave it as it is, Susan Collins has written what she has wanted to write, and we shouldn’t try and add to it.
@@TheGeekApprentice If that's how she feels, I won't stop her. Leave it to the fanfic writers then.
i’m holding a book presentation about hunger games, mockingjay and your videos are helping me so so much!! I love them and your analysis
I still think Lucy is katniss's great-grandmother.
Everyone has kids young in district 12 and dies young . So much history and knowledge can be lost from a great grandparent, but some things can stay.
Strong brunettes are his Achilles heel.
I’m loving your channel btw!
@TheGeekApprentice i wonder when comes to Lucy Gray if had any regrets. i did find it odd he went to 12 to just threaten Katniss Snow could have sent anyone to do that, plus probably the first time back in 12 since that day.
I just wanted to add: I reread Moking Jay recently and I don't think Snow heard the Hanging Tree because the books say they had not used the song. Ans that's why the song brings up a good memory for Peeta because he heard Katniss' dad sing it. The capital had not uses the song to brainwash him.
Not necessarily. On pages 132 and 133 of Mockingjay, Katniss remarks that there's a battle of broadcasts where Beetee is inserting 5 to 10 second clips constantly. She doesn't describe each one, it's a fair guess that they inserted bits of The Hanging Tree. It's not explicit, but entirely possible.
In addition, she sung it in 12 where Snow could've still had cameras and may have seen what some of them got. And, if Beetee used the song in footage to the districts, snow would find out most likely.
Not to mention, sometimes - with these kinds of videos, I have to consider both book and movie versions. So movie version: He definitely hears it. Book version: Very possible he did. :)
@@TheGeekApprentice if he did hear it i wonder what his reaction to the change they made to it.
I disagree with some of what you said. I don’t think snow was over confident or naive considering the lesson he learned in the prequel / 10th hunger games about the power of an “ under dog. “ President Snow even stated in the original movies to crane that he hates under dogs because he is fully aware of their threat when underestimated. He even says to much hope is dangerous it’s the only thing more powerful then fear.
Have you done a video on the 75th games? Who do you think would have won? I always thought Beetee may have been cunning enough, Finnick strong enough, and Johanna brutal enough to win them, but I can never pick between the three. I'd enjoy your opinion and well as others if they see this comment.
Awesome video!! Thank you so much for talking about some thing. I have been thinking since I read it again and saw the movie!
Thanks!
Thanks for the super chat!! You’re too kind!
