    The Hunger Games franchise character I most closely associate with propaganda is Plutarch !!!

    • @CJs_Galaxy

      Same. When you think of propaganda and the Hunger Games I think immediately to the Mockingjay propos by Plutarch himself

  • @barto22

    I think that the book will be told from young Plutarch's perspective as either a junior gamemaker or Haymitch's mentor, with him becoming disenchanted with the capitol and planting the first seeds of the rebellion, starting to look for allies and dirt on enemies

      I don't think Plutarch will be a mentor. Snow wouldn't allow that again: Haymitch either won without mentoring or a career district victor mentored him.

    I think it will be really interesting to see Haymitch's games and especially Victory Tour from Plutarch's perspective. Maybe Plutarch was Haymitch's mentor or escort. And we can see the arch of how/why Plutarch joined the rebellion. Like he watch Haymitch spiral into addiction. Maybe they were friends, they are close to the same age. I would also love to see an appearance from Tigris at the height of her stylist career.

    I disagree about your opinion on katniss's mom! she is only a boring character because she was heartbroken after katniss's dad died. I think it would be EXTREMELY interesting to see her mom and dad fall in love and see personality in her mom. and even watch them witness the 50th hunger games from their POV.

      @@CJs_Galaxy You clearly have little to no understanding of how severe major depression works. Well, be glad for that. Means you probably haven't had any depressive episode(s) in your life. ruclips.net/video/pcmoQinDhJ4/видео.html Adults are just humans too. Mrs. Everdeen didn't grow up in the Seam, but in the economic better off Merchant section of District 12. Moving to the Seam was a risk, an economic sacrifice and a testament to how much she loved Mr. Everdeen. She had probably taken many blows by that point, but his death was the one that made her loose the will to continue living. At least for a period. She had her healing abilities, but no direct hunting and gathering knowledge that we know of. She needed time to grieve her husband. Grief is a natural reaction. Most neglectful and alcoholic parents have heartbreaking backstories. That doesn't in any way justify neglectful behavior, or make any difference for the child, and how they will experience the situation, but whether the indifference to their communication and needs is out of malice or illness matters a great deal in my opinion. Especially if the mental illness is temporary. Mrs. Everdeen is a grey character in my book, who first and foremost embodies tragedy. I think she would have been described in a lot more flattering manner if the narrator was Prim. And, after having lost her best friend in the Second Quell, facing stigma from all of District 12, but especially the Merchant section, for marrying someone "below her", and then loosing her husband in a mining accident, watching her oldest daughter fight for her life on TV twice without being able to do anything about it, seeing her home and many she knew being bombed and burned, as part of a war. And on the top of it all, she looses the only one of her daughters that still respected and valued her opinion. Her character is actually interesting, because it is human, realistic, and deals with real world relatable human issues and flaws.

    I trust that Susan Collins is only writing a new Hunger Games book because she has a good story to tell and isn't just writing a novel for fanservice and money. But like a lot of people, I really struggle to see how a novel about Haymich's games could add to the story, given how much we already know about it. Though I hope to be pleasantly surprised!
    I am almost sure I am wrong about this, but my theoryy is that the story will be told from the perspective of a Tribute for the 50ths games from any of the other districts besides 12, who we have never met or heard of before (Which district isn't important, just as long as its not 12). The reader is made to absolutely love this tribute and root for them and the tribute is killed by Haymitch and Haymitch is portrayed as the villain of the story. This could work because we as the readers love Haymitch as the man who befriended Peeta and Katniss. So to see that flipped on it's head and to see Haymitch portrayed as the Villian of the story could be interesting. WOuld also play into the themes briefly touched in the previous HG books of how 'the Capital pits districts and tributes against one another so they view each other as enimies, loosing sight of the fact that the REAL enemy is the Capital.
    I also think it'd be cool for the story to be told from the point of view of a character we have never met before, as it'll help make it feel fresh and interesting rather than it just being fan service.

    • @CJs_Galaxy
      @CJs_Galaxy  5 месяцев назад +2

      To avoid fan service I can totally see the benefit of telling a story from a new character. I like your point on Haymitch maybe being the villain of the story since in TBOSAS we see Lucy Gray as a 'villain' in Snow's eyes when we know had we had her perspective she likely would have been seen as a lot kinder and caring than Snow perceived Lucy Gray. Seeing that with another character we know and love would make for a great read.
      Either way, I trust Suzanne Collins has something amazing written for us that isn't fan service, like you said

      I like your theory of the pov being from a tribute in the 50th hunger games who is not a victor. That is an interesting perspective. In order for that to work the pov would need to be the girl Haymirch kills when he wins the game. But I could see that.
      I think it would be interesting to see the pov of maybe a friend or young family member of one of the district 1 or 2 tributes. I think also seeing the pov of someone watching the games with a tribute they care about being in the games would also be an interesting pov. And I would pick one of the districts that buys into the propaganda and trains their tributes. So district 1 or 2 would be a good choice. Just a thought.

    Girl, it’s my headcanon currently that Katniss’ dad & Haymitch are besties & that Katniss’ parents trauma bond over their besties being in the Games - which is why Katniss’ mum can’t function after he dies. I also think they all go over to the mayors house to watch more “BTS” stuff & that’s how Maysilee’s sister gets with the next mayor who is being groomed for the role by his dad.
    I also think telling it from Katniss’ dad’s perspective would tie in all the Lucy Gray/covey storylines & I think we’ll get right up until his death. I wonder if Haymitch tells him more in secret after the Games & that’s maybe what gets him killed? Idk. I think it’d answer so many questions!!!!
    Also yes to Effie or potentially a very close relation of hers. I think Plutarch could be interesting too. If it’s multiple POVs I think it would be Effie/Mr Everdeen or Plutarch/Mrs Everdeen.

    • @CJs_Galaxy
      @CJs_Galaxy  5 месяцев назад +1

      I'm totally thinking the same thing. Maybe Mr. Everdeen died in the mines because of Haymitch? It just took awhile to get to a man like Katniss's father who knew how to evade the Capitol

  • @AnnaMiluska1

    Interesting theories... I like the idea of it being from Effie's perspective. She is so proud of the hunger games for the 74th games. I can see how she has been swayed into fully embracing the propaganda. She would be a good choice from a capital perspective.
    Plutarch would be a good perspective too since he does seem to understand the power of propaganda.
    Another thought could be using the perspective from one of Haymitch's family members or friends since we know they do not make it due to President Snow punishing Haymitch. I also would not rule out Katniss's parents. Both her mom or her dad could show an interesting perspective from a district youth watching the 50th games.
    What if the perspective comes from a district 1 or 2 youth? The youth from those districts were very proud to play in the hunger games. They would have bought into the propaganda from the capital. They would likely be suprised by Haymitch winning the games. I could see Susan Collins showing how these districts youth are made to be proud of the games. We have seen the perspective of the capital from Snow and the perspective of the games from Katniss. Now we could see the perspective of the games from a district 1 youth who was not repeated for the 50th games but comes to see it as a honor to play in the games. Maybe this youth would go on to train future hunger game Victor's from district 1. This is just a theory that may or may not be the direction Susan Collins is going.
    All the different perspectives are interesting. I am curious how Susan Collins will show propaganda and which youth she will show this from. But it does make sense to show Haymitch's 50th games.

    I think it would be really interesting if haymitch isn’t Plutarch’s mentor, so he dislikes haymitch/sees him as an adversary. Maybe he becomes attached to his tribute and when they die, this radicalises Plutarch to realise you can’t win by playing by capitol rules?

    Just here me out. Dual prospective District 1 Female AND Haymitch. SUNRISE on the reaping. Which District has their reaping first in the morning, which districts would feed into the propaganda. I think it’ll be from the perspective of Plutarch Heavensbee. I think he could possibly be an escort/mentor. My guess is mentor because Plutarch is going to want to get his foot in the door into the Games, he may even be unwilling at first to be a game maker. He might even be pressured from Tigris.
    If it’s Plutarch, I think it will be the story of how being part of the Hunger Games opens his eyes to the lies and propaganda is fed to the masses and also the cognitive dissonance that he witnesses in the Capitol.
    In the book Catching Fire, Katniss is surprised that Haymitch was able to find an old part of the building that looked like it had been unused for decades. She was surprised that it seemed like he was walking through an abandoned part of the building like he’d already been there. I think there’s going to be an important meeting with either Chaff or Seeder and Plutarch that Haymitch is privy to.
    I also think we find out the first communications between District 13 and Plutarch. This is just speculation, of course.

    Reaction to Mr. Melark being a possible narrator and the god forsaken LOVE TRIANGLE; RELATABLE we ain't need it nor a sequel where Gale moves back to 12 and points to his own kid Peeta's and Katniss' daughter that he was in love with her mother, but she chose a guy with a kind heart - NO, which leads me to... Mrs Mellark might be an evil witch, Mrs Everdeen might be dead-beat-mother... but dear Mr. Mellark, what was his intention when he said that to tiny Peeta, like what for? to avenge the former non-existent love triangle?

    Just had a random thought that I haven't heard anyone mention yet. With the focus of propaganda and the theme of 'real or not real' in the new book. What if the story we know about Haymitch's Hunger Games isn't true (or only partially true)? It always seemed like an overreaction for the Capitol to kill Haymitch's entire family just for his axe stunt (although very on brand). This idea fits well with Plutarch's POV, allowing for a focus the difference between what really happened in the Games and the version the public saw (real or not real). Sorry if you've already covered this-I try to watch all your videos but might have missed something!
