My theory that I will protect with my life is that the perspective of the new novel will be of a career, who is spoon fed propaganda and the illusion of false hope and real vs not real with the honour of winning just for Haymitch to win in a way that breaks the rules and makes the career realise (similar to Cato) that everything was a lie.
i definitely think we’ll see outside of the hunger games in this book. in the interview she did with associated press she mentioned she wanted to explore ideas of implicit submission and propaganda with this new book so i think that haymitch’s final kill will be a big deal in the book since it was viewed as an act of rebellion. i’m also curious to see how they’ll treat his win in the hunger games, will he be considered the first district 12 victor since snow most likely erased everything about lucy gray decades previously? since she isn’t named in the main series i feel like she may almost be a rumor in district 12 only, given how little the districts know of each other. this video is what i needed to re-fuel my hunger games info dumps to my friends and coworkers so thank you lol
It’s definitely a big possibility. A feel Haymitch being our POV character may be too obvious. Agh I’m just itching for another announcement!! It’s really fun to speculate together though and I’m glad this video helps with your friends and coworkers lol we have to make a lot of hunger games noise rn!!
3:47 I reread The Hunger Games original trilogy recently and in the 25th Hunger Games/1st Quarter Quell districts were voting for tributes! I pulled out my UK copy to quote (chapter 12 for anyone interested) ""On the twenty-fifth anniversary, as a reminder to the rebels that their children were dying because of their choice to initiate violence, every district was made to hold an election and vote on the tributes who would represent it." I wonder how that would felt. Picking the kids who had to go. It is worse, I think, to be turned over by your own neighbours than have your name drawn from the reaping ball"
I hope Suzanne writes a book about the 1st quarter quell because we don’t know who the victor is and stuff and it just feels weird to me that she didn’t say who it was in catching fire. Like she keeping it a secret, just like for Lucy gray they kinda mentioned a past district 12 victor before haymitch in catching fire but we also didn’t know who it was until Suzanne wrote the ballad of songbirds and snakes. But the thing is is that I’ve people say that sunrise on the reaping will be the last hunger games book Suzanne writes because it’s closer to the original trilogy and it would be weird if we went back to the 1st quarter quell which is 25 years before haymitch’s games. I really don’t know though even if we don’t get a book about the 1st quarter quell I just hope that the hunger games series will continue to go on after sunrise on the reaping.
Great theories Peyton 👍 I'm super excited for another book. I'll have to reread the books...again for like the hundredth time! And if memory serves me correctly I think for the 1st quarter quell they went by a voting system where the other district members would have to pick who goes the games. That would make a good book too in the series, where the Capitol makes all the district members hate and betray each other in order to maintain control over them.
Thank you!! And Omg I think you’re right about the first quarter quell because I remember reading about that. That would be so wild if I knew everyone voted me into the games wow
@@PeytonReads I would eat it UP! But honestly, I would eat up anything she decides to write. If she decides to introduce someone completely new as the MC, I will still be all in lol
Hmm I always though that Lucy Gray was counted as one of the victors. The capitol doesn't broadcast the 10th games or anything but I imagine there's some sort of official list that at least has like 'district 12 girl won 10th games'. But idk maybe not. I'd really like to get the point of view of the district 1 girl or any career really and see how their minds work. If I had to bet money I think we might get multiple povs
I thought Suzanne Collins had confirmed that Lucy Gray was the 4th (or first, depends on how you look lol) District 12 victor. You do make a good point about keeping records because iirc Katniss mentions that they read the names of former victors every year at the reaping. So... do they still call out her name every year anyways and wouldn't that piss off Snow every year? lol
you passionately talking about the hunger games is one of my favourite things. ilysm
I love youuuu 💞💞💞

It could be a really interesting take. Especially knowing that she wants to make this book about the dangers of propaganda…you could be right!
I hope it’s like this
I love when you talk Hunger Games. It's like when I talk about Harry Potter or Seekers. You can tell how much you love those books.
we have gotten the pov of a tribute, of a mentor, and now i think we might get the pov of a gamemaker
Suzanne Collins is feeding us WELL
We are living a good life 🙌🏻

@@PeytonReads so true. i’m so excited for more news, march still feels so far away!
You know, I think the book just might be from the perspective of the district 1 girl who try’s to kill Haymitch cause she’s so brainwashed

The 25th quarter quell was where the people from the districts had to vote on who to send to the Hunger Games❤
Thank you. How insane must that have been omg

There is a rumor that the new book could be Plutarch’s POV
That could be interesting!
I also imagine haymitch dealing with alot of angery parents n family n friends of the children that died
New Hunger Games content omggggg yess! I can't believe it ;-;
I doubt Suzanne Collins would do this, but it would be so interesting if Sunrise on the Reaping was from Tigris's POV.
That would be extremely interesting though

I’ll have to see in my reread how they speak about Lucy Gray and the past victors again. And I also think multiple POV’s could be a legitimate option!
I wanna see more victors
Could be katniss’s mum?
I’m not ruling out anything so who knows! I definitely would love to at least learn more about her in this book
I think it’s gonna be from a capitol or career perspective because we know the theme is propaganda.
