      @@danceswithdirt7197 dude, I have a Rubato neck and it lives up to the hype. The Klos one isn’t a better design, it’s way more limited. Nickel/silver frets, two standard options and that’s it. The Rubato is almost fully custom, stainless steel frets (which is a big deal since regretting carbon fibre is not ideal), tons of fretboard options, it’s amazing.

    • @MashaT22
      @MashaT22 Год назад +1

      Klos has a CF neck for preorder at half the price. They’re asking $200 upfront, $200 when delivered. Their CF pick guard is $80 add on. The form is on their website or you can contact them. KLOS is high quality and the design looks even better than this neck IMHO. I have had one of their full sized hybrid acoustic guitars since 2018 - it’s killer!

    • @ces69
      @ces69 Год назад

      @@MashaT22 But as someone has already pointed out, half the price but only half the neck…No Stainless Steel frets!

    • @MashaT22
      @MashaT22 Год назад +1

      @@ces69 most guitars don’t have stainless frets. Most people also find out they hate the very treble leaning tone of them and end up switching them back to nickel.
      The KLOS also has a truss rod to get the neck perfectly straight or with a hint of relief.
      The KLOS has better Ferrells where the bolts screw in. Much more durable than what I saw on this more expensive neck.
      The KLOS headstock is MUCH smaller, which is better for tuning stability, travel, and durability And they usually have high end Ratio tuners, which make the tuning on point. Usually also have a GraphTech nut.
      Even if someone took a KLOS neck to a shop and had stainless frets installed, they’d still save a ton of money over this other brand and have other features this neck doesn’t offer.
      They also have a bi-directional pick guard available for $80. I saw comments asking about that. This other brand doesn’t offer that.
      They are also willing to do a setup and other customizations/changes for people who want to send their body to KLOS starting at $100 including shipping.
      Honestly, my KLOS neck has really held up, and I have a hybrid neck - meaning it’s wood with CF stiffening rods and nickel frets. The frets are fine with nearly daily playing for 1-3 hours each time. I tend to dig in deep also, so I put lots of stress on the frets. Since 2018, I only had to have a few of the top frets recrowned a hair because minor divots started to appear on the treble side. Given the amount of playing and digging, I’d say that’s pretty solid.
      I don’t think people have to worry about the KLOS holding up.
      It’s well made, the neck shape is super comfortable. And you’re stuck at the stainless frets? That’s pretty silly for a neck that’s far superior for all the above stated reasons. Like I said, most guitars don’t have stainless - and you’d come out way ahead if you had them installed yourself at this price.
      Not here to change your mind, but I’m just trying to get you to see past the stainless frets part. There’s much more to consider when you look past that.

    This partscaster is where the guitar really becomes art. Question for anybody. "Dime" size pots have the same electrical resistance as the larger pots. Guitar pickups are low wattage. What is the advantage of the bigger pots? Are they smoother? Do they hold up longer? Are they more mechanically robust?

    • @raytorvalds3699
      @raytorvalds3699 Год назад

      Bigger pots (quarter size) are about 2.5 times better than dime sized pots.
      In all seriousness, though, provided they're both of good manufacture, I'd say the difference is negligible.
      I think they say that dime sized pots aren't as good, because most often when you see them they are of low quality.

    Awesome channel man, you certainly give me lots of cool ideas for some builds I do here man. Figured I’d just make a quick mention about the shielding paint and share this, if the body you plan to do this to already has the cavity painted ( I know this happens with Nitro ), the shielding paint won’t adhere to it so in many cases you just need to take a Dremel in there and take that finish off carefully and then apply the paint and it comes out perfectly 🤙
    Once that’s finished the nitro or whatever paint you’re using will adhere to that 🤙

    You say that not a lot of companies are doing unique finishes like on this guitar, but every major manufacturer has a custom shop/ mod shop that is pumping out guitars with unique finishes.

    Franchin bodies are great! Have a Telecaster body from them, used on an Esquire build.

    Dont be afraid of building your own guitar. I was hesitant at first, but realized there are nice parts that are affordable. And there is alot of references and resources if you get stuck with something. Or need assistance.

    Crazy, I refinished a 1988 Series 10 super strat to an almost identical finish back in 2008. I used copper metallic paint with an aging agent to achieve the look. I've since done a relic job on it. I'd love to send you some pictures of it.

    Nice build. That body and neck look great together. As for the shielding, with all that copper and bronze foil it might not need shielding, but no harm shielding it to be safe.

    Curious why you didnt put he CF neck onto the green 3D printed body and put some sort of fancy wood neck on this one. Either way both are cool!

    Its good to know the pickup depths on the body. G&L MFD pickups are like 22mm deep and Bare Knuckle Cobras are 20mm deep so not all pickups will fit
