    …and it’s good to see YOU!
    Your video’s definitely make a difference in my life. For me, learning what to do after receiving an initial BC diagnosis is critical. Now I know to get a 2nd opinion (or more) on a pathology report.
    Keeping a clear head and not giving into FEAR to make me jump too quickly without thinking things through is key…and your education through Menopause University is a lifesaver.
    Thank you! ☺💕

    Thank you Dr Taylor, this is such excellent advice. I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer and a programme of 5 months chemotherapy followed by surgery and then 6 weeks of daily radiotherapy was drawn up. During treatment a second tumour was found in the same breast and both tumours were removed at the surgery stage of my treatment programme. The pathology report stated the second tumour was a different type - oestrogen and progesterone positive plus HER2 positive. I was told I needed more chemotheraphy based on this assessment. I felt unequal to undergoing more chemo at that point and after a lot of opposition finally got agreement for the slides to be re-examined. The second pathology report stated the tumour was HER2 negative and therefore no more chemo was necessary. Thank you again for educating women on this important subject. Your work is excellent. Warm regards

    I always wonder if the biopsy can cause cancer cells to escape into the blood stream and further spread the cancer. What say you?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  3 месяца назад +1

      Theoretically, this is possible. But the timeframe between a biopsy and treatment makes this unrealistic.

    I had a mammogram a year ago and my regular doctor sent me to a surgeon; he told me I needed biopsy right away as he saw signs of malignancy on my mammogram images. I went to a second opinion doctor and he said go live your life happily, I don’t see anything. I can tell you that I’ve lived in fear ever since 😔

    i think what would worry me about getting a second opinion is the time that the process would take which could be multiple months. i'd be stressed about a worsening diagnosis in that window

    I have questions about getting a second pathology report. Firstly, are the slides kept long enough, after being examined, that they can be made available to another lab? Is so, what's the "shelf life" of the specimen on the slide? If the second pathology report shows a different finding, what then? Get a THIRD opinion? Which one do you believe? So many questions... ☹️

    • @MenopauseTaylor

      Yes, definitely get a third opinion so you can be clear that the programme of treatment proposed is correct for your type of breast cancer.

    My apologies for being so late. Life gets in the way. I'm here and ready to learn!
    A woman at work, a manager, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Everyone is sympathizing, but I'm like ok, what type and grade? Everyone thinks all breast cancers are the same. We know it's more complicated.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  3 месяца назад

      Exactly! And when people compare their completely different situations (not knowing that they are completely different), they get a lot of misinformation.

    Hello, I'm interested in information about HRT and an increase in allergy symptoms. I am wondering what your take is on Hrt increasing your histamine levels and what should you do if this is really bothering your body? Go off estrogen or just lowering it? Please help as I've had a huge problem since starting HRT 5 years ago. My allergies have been non existent prior to HRT and I am just really starting to realize that it has really been increasing over the time I've been on HRT. I'm now on allergy medication for the first time in my lifetime. My pharmacist said estrogen patches can increase the histamine in the body. How can I fixthis????

      I'm seeing a allergy specialist in April. I have eliminated all dietary food and environmental ones within my home, fragrance and chemical products. I added hepa filters and changed my vacuum cleaner for the hepa filter type. only thing I can't fix is the outdoor area.

      The allergies are a symptom of something else occurring in your system. I have heard of other women suddenly having allergies pop up during the peri period and cessation of menses. And they never had an issue before.

    This is the most annoying thing about a cancer diagnosis. It's a whole lot of crap to have to endure to make a decision on what to do. And there's zero confidence that the decision made will be the best course. This is what makes me never want to have a mammogram.

      Never use any single study in isolation. It is never the whole story. As far as the menopause community is concerned, that particular single study is fatally flawed.
      But if you ever want the whole story and the whole truth, you must consider all the studies in order to even get close.
