I met Lisa about 4 or 5 years ago at a ComiCon in my area. She was/is a truly kind person. My husband and I gave her a little gift from one of the stands and she appeared to genuinely love. Can't understand why kids had to be so cruel to her, obvious she has a kind heart.
I am 70 and re-living my childhood series again. I have recently found a station that shows this series. I find it more funny and appreciate it more now. Very enjoyable.
Cassidy also played Ruk - the ancient android in "Star Trek - The Original Series". Cassidy's greatest role in that episode turned out to be a prank on a traveling habderdasher that haunted the set; Both Cassidy and Roddenberry bought suits from the haberdasher.
Recently watched the series again. Love all the cast. They were a loving family, and the facial expressions of Lurch, Fester, and Grand Moma are still outstanding. The Joie de vivre of Gomez, is the epitome of the expression. And Caroline, smart, thoughtful, and a beauty. Like living in a museum. And finally, a theme song that is still remembered and sung to.
I went to school with Lisa in the seventies. She was beautiful and I had a thing for her. In spite of sitting next to her in class she didn't know I existed. She was bullied in school and it seemed to make her unapproachable. I also know that she had a difficult life at home. I never understood why such a beautiful and talented girl was treated the way she was. Perhaps it was because she was beautiful and talented that she aroused jealousy. Either way it sucked that kids could be so cruel.
I hope that you stepped in to her defense when she was bullied. Especially since you had a crush on her, although admittedly it shouldn’t take that to do the right thing.
Lurch was awesome. Ted should've been really proud to have played that part, and played it that well. He helped bring a lot of enjoyment to a hell of a lot of viewers.
For being Ted Cassidy’s first acting role, he did very well. His facial expressions were terrific and he took great advantage of his voice and height. He should have won an Emmy!
I actually got to see John Astin in Adelaide Australia 🇦🇺, where he was doing a shoot in the city. I didn’t talk to him as he was being filmed. But I’m very happy to have been able to see this wonderful person and actor.
He still teaches theater at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. I had the pleasure of seeing him live at the Morris Mechanic Theater in Baltimore as Ebenezer Scrooge about 25 years ago. He was the best Scrooge I have ever seen. No contest.
She was such a terrific actress! That deep voice of hers was capable of anything. Angelica Huston, who played Morticia in the movies, is a great actress too (especially in "The Grifters") but I agree--Carolyn Jones was THE definitive Morticia.

Carolyn Jones and Yvonne DeCarlo were both gorgeous. My all-time favorite in that regard, though, was Julie (sometimes called Julia) Adams, of "Creature From the Black Lagoon" fame (although she did MUCH more than that during her long career). Isn't it somehow ironic though that Julie's last name was Adams, even though she had no connection whatsoever with the Addams Family.
John Astin is still alive! Makes me happy. He's always been a favorite of mine. Don't think I've seen him since Night Court. Wishing best for Lisa Loring as well. Simple memories like this are something we shared with our generation. I can mention it to my brother, or just someone my age. Younger people too now thanks to the internet. Thanks to all of them.

Lisa was always my favorite. She was so adorable in every shot. The one I respect the most was Ted Cassidy. Like Fred Gwen, he had to spend a good deal of time with make up every day. His physical size was a problem all his life but I am glad he had a lot of fans.
FOR ME , my favorite character is MORTICIA as played by the Beautiful Carolyn Jones ! (and yes John Astin as Gomez is tough to top ). This show may not have lasted long in its original run, but has remained a fixture for more than 50 years in syndication ! Clever and at times "suggestive and daring" dialogue for the mid 1960's, along with a GREAT ( in fact perfect) cast of actors and great characters, makes this show still a fun and enjoyable one to watch !!! There is a Night Court relaunch in the works supposedly staring Stone's daughter (as in, in character daughter) as the new judge. It would be amazing if they could get him to show up as Grandpa Stone.
My favorite Addams Family member? Honestly, that's a very tough one to answer. Whoever casted them did an incredible job: ALL of them did such a good job that I can't pick just one. To this very day, I laugh hard from *all* of them; they have good timing in their lines and make me forget that there's anything else going on in the world because they never let up in their festive love for the "uniqueness"....Morticia was fun to watch, but her husband Gomez was hilarious: "....I'm BACK!
This show was ahead of its time and was absolutely brilliant. Great great show. It’s timeless too; my 8 year old son loves it! He was fascinated by the black and white.

yeah my cousin is 7 feet tall and got laughed at in high school...it made him feel bad. So I showed him the videos of Addams family he didn't know about and suddenly his confidence went up and he's now the man about town...everybody loves the guy.
I thought "The Munsters" was, except for the bass-driven theme music, tedious and insipid. "The Addams Family" had panache! That's why the TV series was later duplicated with different actors, and it has generated several movies with another coming soon.

hung out one night with lisa among others in the '90s, and i'm glad to hear she is still going strong. was a sweet woman who i found easy to talk with . i remember the night fondly mostly because of her presence.
Vito Scotti was brilliant in two episodes of The Bionic Woman. He played a random stranger who attempted to be helpful. His (non-romantic) chemistry with Lyndsay Wagner was wonderful.

The opening credits where Gomez is sharpening the pikes on the top of the fence gate while smiling mad and the whacky theme song is playing will always make me smile/laugh

@@FactsVerse ya know, everyone is entertaining and funny in itself, i think i find them more amusing in my old age now, than I did when I was 10 years old, much of the humor and quick puns i think went over my head back then. A few of the exceptionally funny ones I thought was when Gomez got bonked on the head and lost his memory, then treated the family and place like the complete opposite, thought they were all crazy. And then the family to get him back on track, kept bonking him back on the head. A couple other notables were when Lurch didn't want to go to the Butlers Ball, or when Lurch's mother came for a visit, or Lurch became a rockstar !
PlutoTV has an Addams Family channel. :) I don't know if they could have maintained the quality of the program for additional seasons, but I wish there were more episodes.

@@FactsVerse ya know, everyone is entertaining and funny in itself, i think i find them more amusing in my old age now, than I did when I was 10 years old, much of the humor and quick puns i think went over my head back then. A few of the exceptionally funny ones I thought was when Gomez got bonked on the head and lost his memory, then treated the family and place like the complete opposite, thought they were all crazy. And then the family to get him back on track, kept bonking him back on the head. A couple other notables were when Lurch didn't want to go to the Butlers Ball, or when Lurch's mother came for a visit, or Lurch became a rockstar !

PlutoTV has an Addams Family channel. :) I don't know if they could have maintained the quality of the program for additional seasons, but I wish there were more episodes.
