While I was living in Baltimore in the early 2000s, I "bumped" into him in line at the bank. I struck up a conversation with him. He couldn't have been nicer.
I met Patty Duke (Astin) when I was assistant to Pierre Lenders, manager of the Royal Oaks Golf and Country Club in Titusville, Florida in 1969. She was staying in one of our luxury suits (alone) during the Apollo 11 mission. She spent a lot of time in our lounge among many celebrities staying with us - Hugh Downs, Walter Cronkite, Vincent Price and Spiro Agnew to name a few -- and was slobbering drunk/stoned, rude, obnoxious, overbearing and insulting most of the time. *"I joke around a lot about the manic times because they're funny. Also, the character was supposed to be hunched over (hence the name "Lurch") and he wasn't supposed to have any speaking lines. But when he read for the part, and Gomez pulled the rope to summon him, he appeared and, in the awkward silence, ad-libbed his now famous, "You rang?". Everyone cracked up and it was this that won him the part.

Great video! In 1972 John Astin, Carolyn Jones, Ted Cassidy, and Jackie Coogan lent their voices to do The cartoon version of The Addams Family in The New Scooby Doo Movies.
Interesting video but I would have enjoyed a little background info on Uncle Fester and Gramama as well. This show brings back a lot of childhood memories.
Jackie Coogan began acting as a child and starred with Charlie Chaplin in "The Kid". His parents ripped off his earnings, which led to "Coogan's Law" regarding the earnings of child actors. Blossom Rock (Edith Marie Blossom MacDonald) began in Vaudeville. Her younger sister was the more famous actress of the family - Jeanette MacDonald.

The Addams Family is one of those shows that if you watched it as a kid you can come back many years later and watch it as an adult and love it as much (if not more) as you did when you were a kid.
One thing you did not mention is that the voice of Cousin Itt was done by Carolyn Jones without any recording trickery! She would demonstrate this talent on talk shows of the day!
FANTASTIC!!! WELL DONE! I am in the UK, and a professional entertainer, radio presenter and actor. I was born 14th February 1952, and grew up with these WONDERFUL shows, including Roy Rogers, CAR 54 WHERE ARE YOU? (Link to The Munsters!), The Munsters, and so on. Sadly, the kids of today are GLUED to I Pads, etc. Don't go out in the fresh air to re-inact the shows. I loved my toy guns, and rifles, not allowed today, as you know, one sunny day, I could be a war hero, the next, Roy Rogers, Lurch, and so on. Best regards, Dave Aspen
Yes, more videos on the Addams Family! Most interesting to me from this video was your description of the house, its history and use for the set (especially the addition of the top storey). Great research, Rick.
Austins son, Sean did much better in the television business than his father, starring in The Goonies and Sam in The Lord of the Rings. Word has it Sean Austin's wife is very jealous of him as well, and she didn't like it one bit when Sean kissed Rosy Cotton in the Lord of the Rings.
@@robbiesmith1381 He must be - but he was sooo cool back then! If you see him tell him "Hi". He really helped us weird kids cope! He was our example before there were nerds, geeks and freaks! TY
One of my favorite episodes Morticia decides to do some redecorating..the neighbor lady helps, but is frustrated because Morticia wants everything "black, off black, dark black..etc" then she says she wants to do one room in "salmon." Neighbor lady gets all excited "oh! Pink?!" Morticia answers:"SCALE." 😏
Me too. It's a shame that these new Young Folks don't have the sense of humor we had from the 70s sixties eighties they prefer to be vulgar most of the time and over-the-top way over the top while we really had a good time and it gave us Great Character because we were able to view all of these other people that were old enough to be our grandparents parents and great grands play roles that was excellent and done with style and good taste
Joanne Georgiades maybe some people just don't want to grow up too bad some people just don't know how and it's just too bad people just don't want to even be bothered with smut like you
Great video Rick! This really takes me back! I didn’t know most of these facts! They are all interesting! I especially liked hearing about the house! Thanks for sharing! Be hopeful!
They couldn't have picked a better bunch to star in this. This group was perfect. John Aston especially. He didn't have to do anything and he kept me in stitches. Like Fred Guinn (Herman Munster). Wow! They were great back then and still are. The real house was super nice I'm glad that we have DVDs to watch them any time we want.
When I was just a fourteen year old kid, I learned how to lick my thumb and stick a cigarette on it so I could make it magically appear when I straightened my thumb out. Then I'd ask for a light.
Loved this show. As the son of a WW LL vet, it competed in more ways than one with "Hogan's Heroes". Everything you discussed surprised me. John Astin as Gomez was priceless. Nobody could have played the part better.
I have the entire series on DVD with commentary from "Wednesday", "Pugsly", and Cousin Itt" and they have said many of these same points. They also said the John Astin didn't smoke off camera. When cameras stopped, he put out the cigars and threw them away, which they said made the producers mad, cause then they had to buy more cigard for him to film with. They also said John and Caroline Jones were very protective of the kids and would make changes to things for them.
Good to know, shows of today with children don't seem to think much of the children, sad, but in the past it was different. Less Tech and less free time so more family time?
James Perkins good to know that Carolyn Jones and John Astin were protective of their on-screen children and looked out for them like that Kinda made them out to be surrogate parents for The kids that played Wednesday and Pugsley
@@ricknineg, he revealed that in an interview in an issue of _Starlog_ (he also stated how he hated Lurch, and never ever would play somebody like him again, IIRC.)
@Kirk Moore Lol, with what some people post in comment sections, these days, it's hard to distinguish between someone being serious and satirical. My apologies.
I knew about Ted also being thing on the show but switching hands from right to left I never thought of that or Ted Cassidy doing so but hey the gentlemen had brilliant mind and genius level IQ, and it really would seem he had a fantastic sense of humor.. and to the lighter side of things I probably would have replied that my suits aren't made of strong or satire but of Silk or maybe linen or cotton.. because if it truly had been thought through thing was just severed hand and didn't have a body that I knew of just look at the movies. And I got the humor trying to be conveyed. I OFFICER THAT THEY OWN AN OLDSMOBILE!!!! I just hope that my Gomez quote was right from Addam's Family Values??
Thank you for showing the two mansions, that was amazing to see! I must say, I prefer the Addams' version. Besides, after so many years of watching the show, that's the only one that looks RIGHT.
Another great video, Rick. Between the Munsters and The Addams Family I think the Munsters had better gags with pyro, et cetera, but The Addams Family did subtle jokes and one-liners better.
Addam were better looking stay at home, were more crazy, muster went places, herman muster played baseball, basketball, race car driver , had regular jobs etc etc
The main reason the Munsters were more successful had to do with their access to well established monsters to parody. I personally liked both series, but the Munsters were always more popular.
That was exciting, love this show. Thank you for bring facts about this and many other '60's comedies. Love the info about Lurch, but would love to have you show Morticia's spider like dress. I was always fascinated that her dress bottom looked like spider legs. As always, thank YOU for the wonderful videos.
The Addams Family was my favorite show. I watched it from its t.v. debut. The era when celebrities were decent people who cared about children, instead of abusing and mistreating them.
I have a few distant memories about this TV show, but thanks to technology I can enjoy myself watching them at my short dinner time. I look forward to watching a new episode every day. Thanks for this enlightening briefing. Can't wait to watch a full coverage on Lurch, definitely my favorite character!
Does anyone remember John Astin played a roles in the show "Night Court"? He played an eccentric and Judge Harry's father I believe. He was hilarious in that role, too.
Yup, sure do. He was great. He was once married to Patty Duke too. But Patty Duke had some mental issues, probably at least in part why the marriage fell apart.
@@joelkoosed902 I thought I was the only person alive who remembers "I'm Dickens, He's Fenster," haha. John and Marty Ingels. BEFORE the Addams Family. John was also in the movie West Side Story in which he plays the teacher who chaperones the dance where Tony and Maria meet....and of course, John is the father of Sean Astin ("Rudy") and Sam from LOTR.....
Th Addams Family, with Cousin It and Thing, were also a big part of my childhood TV watching, as was I Love Lucy, Gilligan's Island and The Munsters. Thanks for all these fun facts, Rick! I knew a couple of them but not all, such as who played "Thing." Fun to relive these good memories! Happy New Year, Rick!
I always wondered about the house. I knew there was an actual house in the Los Angeles area at one time but I could never figure out why they used a painting of it instead of a real shot. The 1977 movie had a completely different house. This was a very informative vlog Rick, keep 'em comin'! Take care.
Interesting fun fact: In the 70's Famous Five TV series, the kids playing the F5 had no stunt doubles and had to do all the dangerous stuff themselves with very little safety measures in place (sometimes none). In a reunion interview, the woman who played as Anne said it was like they were literally expendable.
The Addam's Family is one of my all-time favorite shows. I know Charles Addams wasn't thrilled with how the show developed, wanting something darker and a bit more arch, but I love it and think the cast and feel of it couldn't have been better. I also love Addams' original cartoons, but think it wouldn't have worked as well if they'd mimicked his more cynical sense of humor.
It’s awesome to learn some facts about the Addams Family. It’s such a great show and hope to see some more videos about it in the future. Great video Rick!
I loved Addams Family when I was a kid in the 60's. They were so unusual and I identified with that since I was unusual too. The Munsters seemed to be a copy of The Addams and I never liked The Munsters. The Addams had an adult, sly humor to it but The Munsters were just silly.
I remember reading somewhere that the Munsters were really like a normal family for the most part. They just looked different. However, the Addams Family were weird from the get go, which is why I really liked them best.
Blossom Rock who played Mama was the sister of Jannette McDonald. The singing team of Jannette McDonald and Nelson Eddy were very popular in the 40's. McDonald was Blossom Rock's maiden name.
I'm a big Addams and Munsters fan. Read a lot of great books about them, so I knew much of this before hand, and a lot more, like the fact Blossom Rock is the sister of screen actress and singer Jeanette MacDonald. She also had the same agent as Irene Ryan, Granny of the "Beverly Hillbillies."
You could easily do a series on this show. As noted in an earlier comment: John Astin was married to Patty Duke, their son:Sean Astin - A fantastic actor in his own right. Jackie Coogan started his career in 1918, became a child superstar after the 1921 movie “The Kid “ with C.Chaplin. Had quite a career, but was “ Blacklisted “ by L.B.Mayor for suing his own parents for spending ALL of his money, resulting in the first of many child protection laws - “ the Jackie Coogan Law”. He went to TV, and had success with another TV show, a Western, “Cowboy G Men”. He stayed active until 1984❗️he also did lots of radio. His grandson is Actor Kieth Coogan. They say that Jackie Coogan’s comedic timing was perfect. He could/did play every type of role, serious, comedy, horror,.... 👍🙂‼️
also married to betty grable, supposedly was one of the men holding the rope that a mob used to lynch a guy who killed a friend of his, i seem to recall him as some kind of glider pilot in WWII... someone should make a movie of his life.
Lisa Loring married a famous porn actor from the 1980’s golden age of porn, Jerry Butler, later divorced. The list of trivia is long with this cast....
Another fun fact -- Lurch was originally supposed to be mute, but one time during rehearsal Cassidy came out with "You rang?" in that slow, deep bass voice, and everyone on the set cracked up. That became Lurch's signature, and it was the result of a Ted Cassidy ad-lib.
I own all three seasons of this classic show! One of my all time favorites, and for some reason ( upon reflection, I believe it was the caliber of the comedy, as opposed to some of the more silly antics on "The Munsters" ), I always looked forward to macabre escapades of Gomez, Morticia ( always loved that black, slinky gown/outfit ), Lurch, Uncle Fester, Grandmama, Puxley, Wednesday, the mysterious 'Thing', and, whenever he'd show up at the front door of the Addams' mansion, the loveable Cousin Itt! Oh! And lest I forget: Kitty Kat and Cleopatra!
One on just set dressing and props alone. Bell rope, Cleopatra, you got the bears, train set(s!), Morticia's smoking chair, Morticia trimming the roses, what else?
Rick, congrats on reaching over 16,200 subscribers! Your cheerful, positive attitude is really uplifting!! The Addams Family was a great show, thanks for the informative video, Be Hopeful ✈✈
Great video. I enjoyed learning many new facts here, especially about the house and Pugsley's allergies. Here is some trivia for some of you regarding Grandmama, who was played by Blossom Rock, who also called herself Marie Blake. She appeared in the MGM Dr. Kildare movie series as the switchboard operator named Sally. As others have also said, she was the sister of the singer Jeanette MacDonald.
I thought I was a pretty big fan of the Addams Family, but I don't remember "Kitty Cat" at all. And the info on the house was super interesting. Wow. I'm going to have to take a nostalgic trip down Adams Blvd aren't I? Thanks Rick!
The weird thing about most of Kitty Kat's screen time is that it consisted of coming partly down the stairs and then being frightened and running back up the steps. The only time I remember K K doing anything else is in the flashback episode where Morticia tells her children how she met and fell in love with their father. Kitty Kat belonged to Morticia before she married Gomez.
I remember Kitty's limited appearances. One of my favorite things about the show was hoping that one of the minor entities would get worked into the plot - or just even make an appearance. Kitty, Grandmama, and Cleopatra the man eating plant were the most elusive, but even Cousin It wasn't always around in every episode. I thought he was pretty cool - and just how sweet is the name Blossom Rock (Grandmama)?
Fav fact and most surprising was who portrayed thing I didn't know Ted Cassidy did it and he had a stand-in that is really amazing to me now I know....The Addams Family snap snap; more on The Addams Family please one of my all-time favorite shows.. I enjoy your stories Ric, and Happy New Year..

You left out Uncle Fester and Grand Ma Ma! I loved it when Morticia would say a French word and Gomez would drop what he was doing and start kissing her arm saying all the while, "Querida! That's French..."
Hi Rick. Once again new facts. I used to live on Scarff St. right near Adams Blvd. about 1972-1973 when I went to U.S.C. I'll have to go back and check the mansion area out. Second Ken Weatherwax was a close relative of Rudd Weatherwax the owner of all the Lassies from the show Lassie. In fact I met the last Timmie Jon Provost in 1963!
Chasbo Daniels: Come on wake up and smell the Weatherwax. You'd have to! The name Weatherwax is too unique! I googled it years ago and found the connection. Before the internet and Google, Wikipedia it was next to impossible. Keep on Addams Familing, Loving Lucy, Munstering etc.!
You know what? Bravo! I considered myself a big fan and knew a lot if addam's trivia, like backgrounds about the actors and details about the house (pink!) but you managed to nail every single one as something I didn't know. So bravo you. That was excellent and I look forward to seeing more videos. ❤️👍
I recall John Astin playing the role of Riddler in the mid 1960's tv show Batman & during the 2nd season for 2 episodes. Frank Gorshin played Riddler in the 1st season.
The riddles used in that episode were based on the ones in first comic appearance of Riddler. Banquet = bank wet = he flooded a bank and went in the underground vault in scuba gear.
Thanks for posting this. I love the Addams family. One other bit of trivia - Grandmama was played by Edith Marie Blossom MacDonald (known as Blossom Rock) (1895-1978). She was the older sister of screen actress and singer Jeanette MacDonald. Looking at the two of them, side by side, one would never have guessed it. As a randy young teenager back in the mid 60s, I think I was in love with Carolyn Jones who played Morticia!
GREAT JOB ON THIS VIDEO!!! YOU SAID THE TRUTH..ONE THING THAT MADE ME MAD IS THAT THE NUNS CONVENT SOLD THE HOUSE TO BUILD THE SCHOOL-- PARKING LOT .. IF THE OWNER WHO PASSED AWAY KNEW THEY WOULD HAVE IT FOR SOME TIME THEN TEAR IT DOWN THEN SHE WOULD NOT HAVE WILLED IT TO THE CONVENT ???? OK ,, .. I LOVED KITTY KITTY AND ALL THE STRANGE THINGS ON THE WALL .. WHEN I WAS GROWING UP IN THE 60S THING THE HAND IN THE BOX I WAS AFRAID OF IT ,, THEN I GOT OVER IT AND ENJOYED THE SQEEKING WHEN THE BOX OPEN.. MORTICIA I HAD THE HOTS FOR HER AS A KID AND NOW GOMES WITH THE SMILE AND NOTHING BOTHERED HIM WAS GREAT AND WITH HIS TRAIN SET,,..GOMES THE LAST TRUE ADDAMS LEFT.. G--D BLESS THEM ALL FOR THE LAUGHS..
I noticed that about his legs 😓😓😓 I can't imagine that that was part of a scene, Morticia treats her "pets" so well that I can't imagine she'd do that 🤔 nowadays I would hope that wouldn't be allowed
And also Uncle Fester was played by Jackie Coogan who in the 1920s worked with Charlie Chaplin in his feature debut “the kid” and he was considered the cutest kid actor, then after the Addams family he was considered the ugliest adult actor.
Jackie Coogan was not only a fine actor, but also a legendary pilot in WW II. He held the record for night-time hours in gliders. He was terribly sad to have gone from the most beautiful child star on screen to a monster. On the other hand, one of the most macabre of the Charles Addams cartoons involved his (then-unnamed) Fester character driving a rattle-trap flivver around a blind curve, signaling the driver of what appeared to be a Buick Roadmaster to pass---into the path of an on-coming tractor-trailer.
He also participated in a lynching in university... one of his classmates was kidnapped and turned up dead after the random was paid. When the kidnappers were caught 200 people went down to a jail , got them out and lynched them.
I didn't remember the person with the hair but I loved watching the show! My favorite episode was the one where GOMEZE (?) started off with AMNESIA and kept getting hit on the head to restore his memory!! His final comment was something like "BOY! Do I have a headache!" HILARIOUS!

One thing you did not mention is that the voice of Cousin Itt was done by Carolyn Jones without any recording trickery! She would demonstrate this talent on talk shows of the day!
That’s incorrect. A studio worker recorded gibberish and then sped it up.
@@fredarok579 That sounds more like it. Perhaps Caroline was just demonstrating her power of imitation❓

I'd love to see more videos on The Addam's Family 😊
I love those old shows that remind you of being a kid ;)
Yes, more videos on the Addams Family! Most interesting to me from this video was your description of the house, its history and use for the set (especially the addition of the top storey). Great research, Rick.
John Astin is currently a theatre professor at Johns Hopkins Univ. and lives in Baltimore.
Is he still alive? God bless him! My hero!
@@johnloftus Yes, but he's up in his years.
@@robbiesmith1381
He must be - but he was sooo cool back then!
If you see him tell him "Hi". He really helped us weird kids cope!
He was our example before there were nerds, geeks and freaks! TY
I did not realize John Astin was still with us. I know his ex-wife, Patty Duke, has passed on.
One of my favorite episodes Morticia decides to do some redecorating..the neighbor lady helps, but is frustrated because Morticia wants everything "black, off black, dark black..etc" then she says she wants to do one room in "salmon." Neighbor lady gets all excited "oh! Pink?!" Morticia answers:"SCALE." 😏
was kinda magical growing up in the 1960s n 1970s with all these shows. no wonder im so silly lol
Me too. It's a shame that these new Young Folks don't have the sense of humor we had from the 70s sixties eighties they prefer to be vulgar most of the time and over-the-top way over the top while we really had a good time and it gave us Great Character because we were able to view all of these other people that were old enough to be our grandparents parents and great grands play roles that was excellent and done with style and good taste
my balls itch...
Joanne Georgiades maybe some people just don't want to grow up too bad some people just don't know how and it's just too bad people just don't want to even be bothered with smut like you
Cousin It people just don't get it they like to hate you for some stupid reason and make smart remarks against you these people are being reported
Great video Rick! This really takes me back! I didn’t know most of these facts! They are all interesting! I especially liked hearing about the house! Thanks for sharing! Be hopeful!

Cousin It always gave such sage advice. A real man of the world.
My childhood's favorite show and still is. Every detail is insane and oddly funny.
Charles Addams wanted to call the Pugsley character "Pubert", but the network wouldn't let him.
No matter how many times I've seen it, Gomez pulling a lit cigar from his pocket is hilarious.
James Perkins good to know that Carolyn Jones and John Astin were protective of their on-screen children and looked out for them like that
Kinda made them out to be surrogate parents for The kids that played Wednesday and Pugsley
Did not know Ted Cassidy was Thing. Good stuff, thanks
Thanks Wesley!
He wasn't!
He also released a music album, i have a copy somewhere!!
@@ricknineg, he revealed that in an interview in an issue of _Starlog_ (he also stated how he hated Lurch, and never ever would play somebody like him again, IIRC.)
Another thing I read about Ted Cassidy playing thing, he would switch from right to left hand as a joke, to see if viewers would notice.
@Kirk Moore Never seen or heard of that implied, just you'r supposition.
@Kirk Moore Lol, with what some people post in comment sections, these days, it's hard to distinguish between someone being serious and satirical.
My apologies.
@Kirk Moore as it was addressed as "Thing" never thought about it being anymore than it...now I am wondering how it would masturbate?
I also read that Ted wrote children's books.
Loved Gomez playing with the trains
Absolutely agree but loved both of them
Two great shows.
The main reason the Munsters were more successful had to do with their access to well established monsters to parody. I personally liked both series, but the Munsters were always more popular.
I wanna know more about how Gomez falls in love with Tish.
There's 2 episodes concentrating on that. They are called Morticia's Romance part 1 and 2, if that helps.
John Astin DID have a real life thing for Carolyn Jones.
(Who wouldn't 😍)
Just nobody says if it went anywhere.
That was exciting, love this show. Thank you for bring facts about this and many other '60's comedies. Love the info about Lurch, but would love to have you show Morticia's spider like dress. I was always fascinated that her dress bottom looked like spider legs. As always, thank YOU for the wonderful videos.
In the late '90's remake series, it's shown that Morticia has real bare feet.
Hmm, I always thought the dress ended in what looked like Octopus tentacles!
I loved the way Carolyn Jones walked in that dress. And loved to see her clipping the blooms off the roses and arranging the stems.
But I'm feeling much better now
Yup, sure do. He was great. He was once married to Patty Duke too. But Patty Duke had some mental issues, probably at least in part why the marriage fell apart.
@@raymondweaver8526 I was just about to type that.
He also co-starred on "I'm Dickens, He's Fenster"!
You are very welcome! Happy New Year!
A friend of mine (since passed) was a friend of Ted Cassidy when they were both lifeguards in Daytona Beach.
Awesome , I too was a lifeguard
i loved ted when he sang with the partridge family
I bet that was great for him, pulling drowning people out of the ocean without even having to go in and get wet!
I always wondered about the house. I knew there was an actual house in the Los Angeles area at one time but I could never figure out why they used a painting of it instead of a real shot. The 1977 movie had a completely different house. This was a very informative vlog Rick, keep 'em comin'! Take care.
Clearly the safety of children has diminished over the years.
" Ahhh, Morticia, did you speak French?". Gomez. being turned on.
Ferdelance
That is in deed some interesting information.
Loved Addams Family & all those great, fun shows from my childhood.
At first I liked The Munsters better. As I got older,I understood the humor of The Addams Family.
Coke or Pepsi? Adams Family or Munsters?
@@brianpeck4035 Ginger or Mary Ann?
@@brianpeck4035 Oh, decisions, decisions. As if it mattered - Pepsi and Addams Family.
I remember reading somewhere that the Munsters were really like a normal family for the most part. They just looked different. However, the Addams Family were weird from the get go, which is why I really liked them best.
As a kid in the 60's I remember my mom purchasing us comic books with the Addams Family. I loved them.
I had not even Suspected it was Ted Cassidy as (most) of Thing's appearances! Thank You!

Blossom Rock who played Mama was the sister of Jannette McDonald. The singing team of Jannette McDonald and Nelson Eddy were very popular in the 40's. McDonald was Blossom Rock's maiden name.
Cool info, thanks...I love film trivia like that.

Coolest name. Blossom Rock.
If you are interested I'm related to Blossom Rock who played "grandma's". I have a bit of history.

Great factual video. I loved most learning that Ted Cassidy also played Thing. I never knew that.
Ted Cassidy playing Thing was a complete surprise.
Carolyn Jones as Morticia. My first love, her and Jaclyn Smith from Charlie's Angels.
Loved the video and hope they'll be more Addams Family!!
That was really a great video! I met some Gypsies named Addams about 20 years ago, and they loved the Addams Family. :D
He went to TV, and had success with another TV show, a Western,
“Cowboy G Men”.
He stayed active until 1984❗️he also did lots of radio.
His grandson is Actor
Kieth Coogan.
@@ryanbarker5217 did'ent he also portrays as one of the little rascals
As I recall, Coogan served with distinction with the Army Air Corps in Burma.
I believe he was a bomber pilot.
Thanks for this video. And more Addams family!

Since I'm 6' 7" Lurch was my favorite. Cool show.
Blossom named herself Marie Blake after Jeanette's character in San Francisco (1936).
Love The Addams Family and i always enjoy your videos. 👍
I thought I was a pretty big fan of the Addams Family, but I don't remember "Kitty Cat" at all. And the info on the house was super interesting. Wow. I'm going to have to take a nostalgic trip down Adams Blvd aren't I? Thanks Rick!
I also consider myself a fan of the show -- but I, too, don't remember Kitty.
Kitty Kat was on an episode about Mr. Conky, the plumber. In some views, they show Kitty Kat coming down the stairs.
Not true fans. I used to watch this with my parents on TV Land back when they actually played old shows. Bunch of goth wannabe posers the lot of you.
One of my favorite shows as a kid and still is!! Gomez and his quick witted comments are classic

Cool. I never made that connection based on the unusual Weatherwax name! Duh!
Chasbo Daniels: Come on wake up and smell the Weatherwax. You'd have to! The name Weatherwax is too unique! I googled it years ago and found the connection. Before the internet and Google, Wikipedia it was next to impossible.

Carolyn Jones portrayed Marsha, Queen of Diamonds in a few of the Batman episodes...
Ted Cassedy was in one of the Batman episodes as Lurch opening the window when Batman and Robin were climbing up the side of the building...

You produce awesome documentaries! Thank you!
Ted Cassidy playing Thing is the Whopper for me!
Nice job! I enjoy hearing backstage/behind the scenes stories. Especially on all my favorite shows from that time frame.
The Jackie Coogan Act was pasted to protect the earning of child actors. Googan's mother and step father spent the lot.
