    Hello guys. Can I ask you a question? I have this same problem. Brake lights stay on after first press. They go off when I turn off the ignition. I have replaced brake bulbs and 5A fuse #9, none of which were blown, but on a just in case basis. I have replaced the brake pedal light switch with new twice in case the first new one' fitted 3 months ago, was dodgy. I have tried a different LCM that I bought from ebay. Problem still exsts. The annoying thing is that I don't think this problem ex sted when I replaced the original brake switch. I replaced it 3 months ago because I was getting an intermittent fault code on the original and all was well, as far as I know, until last Saturday when a guy told me my brake lights were staying on. I don't really know hw long it has been doing this to be fair. Any sugestions? Cheers.

      Did you ever get this solved? I'm running into the same problem

    • @veritasaequitas9875
      @veritasaequitas9875 3 месяца назад +1

       @kinbas4011 Yes.
      The problem was the new brake switch.
      It was sold as OEM. Even had the correct BMW part number on the advert.
      Which most of them do.
      But it wasn't.
      You need a true OEM switch.
      The true OEM switch is actually two switches in one.
      One switch is used by the programmable LCM to check the integrity of the brake system wiring network.
      This test happens every time you press the brake pedal.
      If a problem is detected by this test the brake light is left switched on as part of the LCM's emergency mode program.
      The second switch in the true OEM switch actually operates the brake light. Turns it on and off.
      The aftermarket switch installed only has one switch. The brake light switch.
      Because of the absence of the test switch the LCM test fails and it leaves the brake lights on.
      So you need a true OEM switch.
      The true OEM switch is physically different to the aftermarket switch.
      It is about 2.5 mm shorter and the mounting bracket is different.
      So you need both the switch and the mounting bracket.
      The BMW part number of the switch is 6 908 787.
      The problem is that when you search for that number online you get the aftermarket switches that don't work.
      So I suggest you go to a dealership and be sure to tell them that you have the programmable
      light control module.
      I have a picture of the aftermarket and OEM switches side by side so that you can see the differences
      I could post that in follow up response it you need it. It will take a few minutes to upload it on the net.
      Although I'm not really sure if I can post links in responses.
