Solo Mountain Camp at Snowdon's Remotest Llyn | High Winds & Rain in the Hilleberg Soulo BL

- By far my most challenging camp to date! The weather took an unexpected turn for the worst and proved a real test of character. As the sun set the wind gusts really started to pickup gusting to 50mph at the elevation I was at, along with heavy showers throughout the night with the cloud base dropping significantly. The Hilleberg Soulo BL was put through its paces perched up next to this remote mountain Llyn on the side of Snowdon. Bailing wasn't an option, despite the thought crossing my mind, the route down in the dark with the wind and rain was too much of a scramble alongside the near zero visibility so sticking it out was my only option. Packing the tent away the next morning was a real test, trying not to let the winds damage the poles or the tent in the process. It just goes to show how quickly the weather can turn in the mountains and for the first time I was glad of the equipment I had for the night.
Great video, it’s a shame you didn’t get the spot you wanted and the weather wasn’t on your side, but there is always next time and hopefully you still had a good camp, atb Brian.
I was gutted when I got up there and saw somebody pitched up, even more surprised when I found out they had been there a few hours on a week night, Plan B worked out fine though weather aside 😂. Thanks for watching!
@@SeekingSolitudeOutdoors the main thing is you got outdoors and you had a great time, that’s all that matters ☺️
Absolutely gorgeous work my friend, this was nicely executed!
Thankyou, that means a lot
Great video. Keep going 😊
Thanks alot for watching James, appreciate that
Where was that mate?
Tiny little lake called Llyn Bach, pretty remote and scrambling required to get to it though
nice vid , you spelt Yr Wyddfa wrong though
Can’t find the spelling mistake is it in description? Many thanks for watching though
