Thx for this wonderful video again. It shows once again the importance of good gear, comprehend basic skills, being prepared when setting out and above all the love of nature. I have said many times how much I love camping in rough weather conditions. This video is a perfect example of balance between skills, mental discipline and experience. With only the necessary gear required to survive, while at the same time maintaining your mental stability. In situations like this it is extremely important to understand that the only source of heat is your own body, and you can clearly see how methodically this body temperature is being preserved. Almost like tending a small fire! Bravo!
Thank you, yes the key is having dry clothes to change into once you stop working so that you dont start freezing from the swaeaty clothes, and then get into the sleeping bag to preserve the warmth.
@@NorwegianXplorer I've been soaking wet from riding a bike at night looking for a place to camp In the rain, finely found a overhang Jumped into sleeping bag and was almost dry BYE morning, lots of steam coming from wet (but warm) Clothing

Now you setting up that tent in that insane, relentless wind..actually had me fearing for your life a few times, but you proved to be stronger than the elements..brilliant display of winter survival skills
I'm watching this from the comfort of my bed with the wind howling outside my window, adding to the atmosphere. But I'd love to be camping out there, just for one night though.

This is the best video to watch at night on cold winter nights. It is exciting to watch but helps me to fall asleep in my warm electric bed with the sound of the wind and snow I live in Missouri rural area and we get snow and winter days of 10 F below 0 F with wind chill of 15 to 20 below zero sometimes. But the worst is our ice storms sometimes 5 to 6 inches of just ice. Everything stops then and poor cows freeze if not put up. The power lines snap and trees snapping sounding like bombs dropping. But some winters it is mild with no snow. Missouri known for crazy weather and springtime tornados!!! Keep making your great videos they are terrific. Would love to see Norway a most beautiful land.

Experiencing these extreme winter conditions, howling blizzard sweeping the snow flocks as swords into your face, you could have turned home, or to the near-byest guest-house.... But Jarl goes on, wrestling with setting-up his tent, leaving a relative mild temperature inside the tent in order to reinforce it outside.... hoping it will hold . And it held ! You should have owned a double coffee !!. And for dinner 2 poor little heartformed wafles shall not have stilled the hunger after all your efforts ! But... you did it, Jarl ! Congratulations !
The wind is such a beautiful thing. I just love it so much. That tent needs another support in the middle of it. Its too floppy in the wind. Thanks for all that info at the end. Hi from Canada, We see the truly experienced one when you inflated the sleeping pad with the bag and not using your breath :) What I do is put the folding pad on the ground and then the inflating sleeping pad on top. Then, I add on top, one of those windshield screens for vans in the summertime. They are very lightweight and made of reflectix. You have to do that otherwise you're losing lots of body warmth to warm up the inflating sleeping pad. You can also set the reflectix windshield first, then the inflating sleeping pad, then the folding one. I really LOVE those boots cover. I want the same!
Hi Jarl. I remain a fan of Ric Nagualero. I loved watching his campcraft projects and recognized how much better he was at them than me. Fortunately I as well as all my scouts survived and hopefully gained some confidence in ourselves. John Oklahoma USA
