Hot Tent Camping In A Snowstorm Using The Best Hot Tent

- I got out into a snowstorm and did some winter hot tent camping! I used what I consider the best hot tent for winter camping, the Russian Bear Up-2 Mini! The snow started to fall as I was getting camp set up. The weather was calling for 3-4 inches of snow with temperatures in the low 20f (-6C) at night. I stayed very warm with my wood stove! The tent got really hot reaching temps above 120F (48C) For dinner I made a delicious meal using my wood stove and had some tasty hot chocolate for dessert. The next day I built a talking snowman.

Isn’t that so true! I’m still able but I’m, personally, not too much of a winter camper so “off season” I like to watch these videos like we are tagging along in the adventures. I can definitely see how the videos would be such a pleasure if I was unable myself.
This guy is one of the only people being truthful and showing the car right next to camp. I'm guessing most of the other "Bushcrafters" have there vehicles just out of frame. And the video themselves walking around in circles so it looks like they have hiked in miles. 👍

Chris it just means you have faith. Faith in a higher power is more important than a religion. Your faith will lead you to where you need to be. For reference I’m a Christian but I do not attend a church. I love God and believe the bible. I was raised Baptist but I consider myself as non-denominational.

It is the best time of year. We went in a motor home on our honeymoon in the sequoia National park and it snowed heavy. We woke up and were watching the other campers still in their tents and it was cold outside. Then all at once all the campers in the tents jumped out and packed up fast because it was super cold.

As a matter of fact every time we go camping I notice that most people are "glamping" in one way or another. We are out to enjoy ourselves and make the most of our time. I was following Lost Lakes and some other winter/hot tent camping enthusiast, and little by little you tube offered me you.
The thing that moved me most and brought you so close to my heart was when you prayed before meal.
It was real prayer, heartfelt, and not just motions. I think that you are only one so far, of all that I watched, who professed faith in Jesus.

I was so struck with the your dear younger brother passing.
I have no doubt that your faith and love brought him before Lord.
But it is hard not to be sad.
We have to cry with those who are crying.
And because you become like part of my family, like a dear cousin, I share a particle of your sadness.
Watching your videos brings me some strange feeling of pace and cosines.
I live in Dalmatia, province in Croatia, and because of the Mediterranean climate we hardly see snow once in ten years.
So it is really a treat to watch your stories from some distant cold and beautiful land.

I think winter camping could be really neat if it's done the right way. I wouldn't want to live like that unless I had to. A dome shape is a good design, I see there is cords that secure the tent against wind. So quiet and relaxing but be prepared for the task at hand.

I couldn't agree with you more about the "no bugs, no bears, no people" part about winter in the woods. I live in the lake region of the mountains near the NY/PA border and winter is my *favorite* time of year for hiking. I was out the other day when it was 7 degrees (actual temperature, not wind chill). With the right gear, the right expectations, and the right preparation, cold weather in the woods beats summer anytime.

I will say this was one of the most relaxing videos I've seen in a long time it reminds me when I go over my mother's house and spend time with her and my sister we have no cell phones and she lives on a quiet country Street it's amazing how quiet can be so loud it's beautiful no cell phones nearby just you and your thoughts and prayers I live in the city so there is constant noise but I appreciate quietness and peace of mind I never take you for granted it's God's gift to us always try to disconnect from social media and the phones so you can reconnect with your inner self and your inner and always remember to pray and thank God for what he has blessed you with awesome video My man it made my evening 🙏👍💪😁🇺🇲

I have the Woods Night PMOLY and even with a fire blanket it melted my floor, you might want to use something to prop the stove a little off the floor.
I like how his equipment is used and not brand new, and he admits he is not doing much bush craft but highlights the functions of his gear.
Keeping it real, like how he is being responsible with a Co detector.

Ah Kenny, what a great trip. Too bad you couldn't stay a second night. The spot looked so peaceful. Love the humor with the hat and snowman. Beans and coffee in the morning? This has got to be Lake Hemet! I've only been camping 1's in the past 10 years and it was at Lake Hemet and it looked identical! Me and my pops went and it was a time I'll never forget. Instant coffee made from boiled water on a fire while watching the sun come up over the lake as the fog dissipates is really a memory I'll cherish forever.
So much fun! Glad you got to experience that time with family! This location is in Washington state 👍
I've never went camping I'm to scared of animals and I'm 55 yrs old now still scared of being in the woods I live in Massachusetts in an apartment I don't have to worry about animals thank God I give this guy so much credit God bless him wow I'm gonna try that hot chocolate ball and my favorite is salted caramel wow I need to find where they sell it at I wanna try it looks good
