  • Winter Camping in a Snow Storm. ASMR version, sounds for Sleeping, Study, Relaxing, Anxiety Relief, Meditation. Nature sounds, snowfall & heavy winds.
Winter camping & backpacking in a snowstorm - heavy snowfall extreme weather forest tent camping in the north, no fire, cold tent, high winds, 25 m/s, 56 mph, 90 km/h. ASMR
Cold tent winter camping during a snow storm in the northern wilderness. The forecast said 25m/s or 56mph winds. I choose snow shoes again since it makes filming easier than if I was using skis.
I walked out into the forest in a break in the storm and set up camp, getting ready for the heavy snowstorm that was coming in through the night. It turned into a massive storm but I had found a sheltered place for my camp in the trees. I also built a snow wall to shelter behind for the eastern winds. Quite an interesting trip that ended in a mixture between rain and sleet.
About me: I am a Norwegian adventurer and wilderness explorer. My youtube channel focus on outdoor wilderness adventures and exploration, backpacking, hiking, canyoneering, skiing, climbing and mountaineering. Nights spent in a tent, alone or with friends. From the snow covered mountains and misty fjords of the arctic North to plateaus of Yellowstone and the debts of the red canyons of Utah to the summit of Mt Whitney and the heart of Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park. I love the Wilderness! Email is under "For business inquiries", for general questions please comment on a video, I try to answer everyone.

We sure can appreciate the effort ,it takes a lot out of someone just to carry that heavy load on their back, then trying to get through all that snow. Then setting up and shoveling continuously through their stay, omg , never mind the cold, wow! You definitely have to be in shape for that and I thank you for taking us along. I always loved to camp but not winter time even though I love the snow, just beautiful! ♥️♥️ I will watch you instead! 🥶

It never ceases to amaze me just how much effort you put forth to level the snow prior to pitching your tent. Yes, I've pitched my tent & not paid enough attention to whether or not the surface was flat & paid the price by rolling off my air mattress all night long every time I moved. I'll NEVER make that mistake again.
I like the way you place the stakes in the snow prior to unrolling your tent. I do the same thing with big heavy rocks that I can place on top of stakes once I've pounded them into the ground. NO, I've never had a stake pull out of the ground, or had a tent fail to provide me with shelter all night long, ever & that goes back decades to when I was a Boy Scout & pitched my military surplus GI Pup Tent.
Thank you for doing such a grrreat job filming each & everything you do from preparing the snow surface to digging out the space inside your vestibule - when pitching your 5-Star accommodations out in the boonies.
You got to appreciate the no snag YKK COIL zippers that don't have any teeth to break or snag on all Hilleberg tents.
Which brand/model air mattress did you inflate? I'm guessing it was a Thermarest XTherm.
Yes, I recognized your Western Mountaineering Puma Sleeping bag, which also has YKK COIL zippers that don't break or snag.
This is the first time I've noticed you partially unzip the zipper on the back side of your tent. WHY?
After taking off your boots & covering them I got to thinking that they must have been colder than stone cold the next morning when you went to put 'em back on.
Gotta absolutely love the Primus Stove & the reliable heat it produces.
I think I would have put the HH jacket inside the sleeping bag to keep it nice & warm tomorrow morning.
I appreciate the extra effort of keeping batteries warm & charged + filming in that cold, for my entertainment.
Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.

    • @NorwegianXplorer
      @NorwegianXplorer  Год назад +2

Thanks Bill for your thoughtful comments! I open the vent in the back of the tent to get some air circulation, but in conditions like this it usually gets covered in snow quite fast. The boots get cold yes, but as long as I manage to stay warm it is not a problem in the morning

I like the ASMR. Nature gives back quite a lot of it on epic journeys, either moving, resting, coping with conditions, or waiting out weather. The video reminds me of such times, sights and sounds. If it's in a dangerous situation, I'm not being afraid thinking worst case, but in the moment with focus on all the senses and what can I do given what's coming at me now. Never more alive. Once I've done my best and am riding out the danger, I have been known to think about what friends might say if this is the thing that gets me. All while fascinated by the ASMR going on around me.

While I was quite impressed with your earlier winter camping videos, in which few words were spoken and an occasional music sound track was played, I am finding your natural sounds-only ASMR winter camping video (in a storm blizzard) even more impressive. This comes about as close as one can get to experiencing the storm without actually being there.
I weathered a significant windstorm overnight in my tent this past January in which the evening as well as the next morning were graced with warm sunshine and blue sky. But after dark the wind storm raged on. I didn't have an anemometer, however a nearby town reported 60 mph wind gusts. As the wind gusts would arrive at my campsite, the trees would practically grown/howl under the wind loading. So I am quite familiar with the pensive look that you appeared to have when the storm winds/snow blew through your campsite 🙂
Thank you for bringing your storm to my RUclips screen!
May you have many more excellent camping adventures.

Your tent seems to be holding up great though!! I need some of those snow hog stakes. You can’t always find the proper sticks to use as deadmen. Good stuff here for sure! Take care and be safe! Hi again from Sacramento, California. You make such amazingly beautiful videos!!!!!

Quite a really hard job setting up the tent ! And getting up out of your sleep (IF you slept...) in the middle of the night to consolid the ropes... That sitting-place you dig in the snow, that's nice, it enables you to sit more comfortably, for dreaming and having your coffee and meal... That neverlasting anxiety inspiring sound of the howling blizzard, and snowflocks as sharp as knives..... What an adventure ! All alone by yourself, completely isolated in the middle of the most poetic winterly nowhere.... Thanks for communicating it with us, Jarl !
P.S. But how do you realize the filming, when you walk away from the camera and we see you in the distance ? Do you place the camera, walk away, and then go bacķ the same way to take it back ? So you do the triple traject ???
