THIS/was is a Supergroup, on a certain occasion,What could have been, Mick Kern`s playing was imaculate, and to have Pete Townsend/Phil Colin's in the line up, and Townsend, don`t get out of bed for most people.Just so F Sad. R.I.P Mick forgotten you will not beeriod
Midge Ure's vocals are immense!! Phil on drums, possibly the most rounded/complete drummer ever, Pete on rythm/backing vocals and last, but by no means least, the best bass player to come out of the 80's/ 90's(in my humble opinion) Mick Karns.!! Great tribute to an absolute classic song!! 👍
Aah. Karn did his shuffle! What an excellent rendition, it's always been one of my favourite songs ever, Scott Walker never got the recognition he deserved in my opinion...but here Midge is great!
What a band. You don't see things like this anymore. And how could you? Watch 4 DJ's pressing "Play" at the same time? ;) When it comes to music we where blessed to be alive at that time.
This is lifted even higher by the artists pulled together for this performance. A magnificent rendition of Midge's excellent reworking of the song. Superlative and supernatural.
At 2:42 this live performance starts to take off to another level. What a “Supergroup” everyone on the stage is a master of their instruments. Fabulous live music
What a number! Time flies, Mick has already gone and Phil is looking so frail these days. I still listen to Japan from time to time, Ultravox not so much and saw Phil live once in Hong Kong many moons ago.
that was fricken awesome, Im just discovering Midge again after listening to him after my sister died. Vienna was the opening song at her funeral. The guys music brings me to tears at times.
This is a song loop that is permanently stuck in my head, its incredible. All the guys were at the top of their games and it shows or more profoundly sounds ! This is music and musicianship at its best !!!
Great rare clip. What a genius Mick Karn was. That one keyboard player you briefly see at the end with the darker receding hair line looks a lot like Barry Andrews (XTC, Shriekback).
I would have never expected to see these five (including Dave Formula) musicians playing together! Maybe the song is not unforgettable, but what a style! Next I'd like to see John Foxx, Robert Fripp, Keith Emerson, John Entwistle, Steve Copeland
Are some people commenting on the wrong video? Pete Townsend's singing, it's his song! And this is not the video of 'No Regrets' from this show that the comment about the Walker Brothers seem to refer to...
'tis nice to see the older musicians playing with younger ones. Phil, and Mick. A rhythm section of epic proportions. Is there any more of them playing together?
This needs to be played @ Very loud Levels, preferably @ Parties .For my part.I shall pester the life out of Radio Caroline, who are on DAB,MW,FM in ESSEX and to the world on the net. And they are a LP Station, not uk top40 `ite!.2 others Radio Dolphin, from a Lightship and Radio Northsea International google them, they will listen, have a Japan& derivative inc` Porcupine Tree, with a certain Richard B on keyboards weaving magic, sorry for rambling, must be cause i`m 70,was a teenager doing my own voyage34`s in the 70`s but good ones! 🙂
I think it was the Prince's Trust concert 1982. Although that was traditionally at Royal Albert Hall and this venue looks considerably smaller. But I do remember reading somewhere that it was a fundraiser.
Didn’t need to since Midge was the co-organizer of Live Aid. He just didn’t get as much face time as Bob vdid. Oh, and he also wrote the Band Aid song.
I am prepared to get blasted for this comment, but this 'band' seems to be a little less than the sum of all its magnificent parts! Maybe it was the song choice (brilliant as it was originally).
This is proper live every texture of the song has been enriched by an amazing line up of odds n sod's but what a result. I've never seen the Walker Brothers perform this live. There version is Uber produced in the studio with a Phil Spector style wall of sound.
Pete Townshend and Phil Collins? Did they miss the door to the " Robert Palmer " sessions ? Phil Collins is such a dork and I dont care if he did write all them pop songs.
Mick Karn on bass... wow! That fretless sound is incredible

Mick Karn was from another planet.
The legend that was mick KARN RIP MICK
Mick Karn looks like the coolest cat on the planet.

Mick Karn is one of the best fretless bass players ever imo

@@Eleventhearlofmars agreed
okay, all the players are there .... who is on keyboards ???
Midge's voice, Mick's bass, and Phil's drumming -- exceptional! What a supergroup and that's without taking Pete Townsend into consideration.
Aah. Karn did his shuffle!
What an excellent rendition, it's always been one of my favourite songs ever, Scott Walker never got the recognition he deserved in my opinion...but here Midge is great!
An amazing night; the 1982 Prince’s Trust. Brilliant.
What a band. You don't see things like this anymore. And how could you? Watch 4 DJ's pressing "Play" at the same time? ;)
When it comes to music we where blessed to be alive at that time.
Midge, Phil, Pete and Mick? All I thought I had was a double Goose and tonic. Wow!
That's a random lineup, cool though - Mick Karn was such a fantastic bassist!!
My God. Townshend & Mick Karn covering Scott Walker - how does this exist?
Actually it's a Tom Rush original.
Sylvian came out as a Walker fan soon also I'm sure, Karn was away ahead of time
@@kelvinturner2941 everyone remembers it as walker bros
Perfect 80s supergroup.
Fantastic. A proper supergroup playing a track by one of the greats . Scott must have been happy .
Mick Karn makes this!!
Bass is exquisite.
Mick Karn, arguably the greatest bass player of all time. Love this, absolute class
@@noelmurphy406 with you on that one mate,Mick Karn was something special
@@noelmurphy406 If Carlsberg made a bassist... it would, probably, be Mick Karn.
Three decades of musical perfection on one stage, you just don't see this anymore. 😒
This is lifted even higher by the artists pulled together for this performance. A magnificent rendition of Midge's excellent reworking of the song. Superlative and supernatural.
Mick Karn tearing shit up!

Now that’s a Supergroup!
Great song, great cast. Don't forget the Walker Bros.
Great rare clip. What a genius Mick Karn was. That one keyboard player you briefly see at the end with the darker receding hair line looks a lot like Barry Andrews (XTC, Shriekback).
looked a bit like dave greenfield
Its Dave Formula (Magazine)
Just found this... I'm so glad that I did. Thanks, very, much for posting, this.
It is beyond stunning that this ever happened. Kudos to Midge "Jimmy Ure" for getting dear Mick out of the house ;-)
It's exquisite, I just can't find another word for this! Thank you so much for sharing! Truly, this is stuff that dreams are made of!
Wow, just found this. What a line up!
My favorite Midge Ure song............. greetings of Perú...
That was a rather unexpected fine and a truly brilliant performance.
I would have never expected to see these five (including Dave Formula) musicians playing together! Maybe the song is not unforgettable, but what a style! Next I'd like to see John Foxx, Robert Fripp, Keith Emerson, John Entwistle, Steve Copeland
The other keyboard player is Gary Brooker
@@prestwickpioneer3474 Is he? Well, fine, I just trusted what someone else wrote in a previous comment
Yeah it’s Dave Formula and Gary Brooker. Sorry if misunderstanding.
@@prestwickpioneer3474 Ah, ok, that's fine. At least now we know they were both there 🙂
A live super band for a great song ! Midge Ure (Ultravox) with musicians from Japan, Genesis and The Who, what else ? The top !
Beautiful song
Thank you so much for this!
Gänsehaut..... Wonderfull......................
I want this song on a vinyl :)
MICK IS THE BEST HERE..BY FAR!
Not Surprised that mick khan is up there with the best wow what a line up can't get better than that
this has got to be the most unlikely oddball collection of artists i have ever seen.
I think it’s a fantastic collection, Kate Bush is on another with these artists.
Only the Brits could set aside the ego like this.
weird mix however Towser and PC wanted to be hipper

Yes sir.
They actually played together ( Band Aid I think), with...Fish from Marillion. The gig is on RUclips. Enjoy...and thank me later ;)
There was a time when the kind roamed the earth
Dave Formula from Magazine from memory :)
Sure was.
❤❤❤
what a man :)
Ure, Karn, Pete Townsend and Phil Collins. 😳
❤
Brilliant!! Was this a Prince's Trust gig?
Where in the hell did you find this? Wow!! Bazaar dude!
Princes trust 1982!
*Bizarre, bizarrely Bazaar has a totally different meaning 😃
Seems like an odd combination of musicians that comes together quite well.
Can't believe how peely-wally Midge looks compared to the rest of them. Gotta love that Scottish climate.

Pathetic.
It is rather weird to see Mick Karn in full glam rock mode, while the rest of musicians kind of dress down
