Videos keep getting better and better. At 5:00, what better car for the Catwoman than a Jaguar, and the car she has at the end of this video I'd swear was also in bewitched, made by endora for darwood!
Funny...this series is as old as I am. I thought the Joker Mobile (everything was called a mobile at that time) was related to Grandpa's dragster on the Munsters. But,....notice something. The remote control unit they used to stear the batmobile was the early version radio controller. This during a time when we still had black & White tv's the size of a dresser.
I also have the 20th Century Fox DVD set. I am old enough to have watch it on primetime ABC Network TV and I did so! The Batman television series was produced by 20th Century Fox and aired on the ABC (American Broadcasting Company) network. Dave...
@@Johnnycdrums I've seen a few over the years at the Portland OR. Auto show and I'm sure I've seen a few in Reno and Las Vegas. I just wished I could drive them.🤷😆
That is such a great observation! Here's something I found in at least two episodes: In The Black Widow episode, the overview of Gotham City is Boston, MA. It's from 1968, so the newer Hancock Tower isn't there yet, but you can clearly see the old Hancock, the Prudential Tower and, what first grabbed my eye, the gold dome of the Massachusetts State House. I'm a Bostonian, born and bred (and butter...), so seeing that gave me special pride.
At the 2:00 mark, the Rolls Royce sequence is a different car in the different scenes. It starts all black with red seats that may or may not be a Silver Cloud I. The next scene shows a Silver Cloud III which is 1963-66 because of the 4 headlight configuration. The final scene is a Silver Cloud I (or possibly II depending on the year), but it is now two tone with gray seats. It is obviously 3 different cars!
In the clip from episode 1, Molly & The Riddler set off in a Series I Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, but in the next shot it's a Series III - distinguished by its twin headlights, as opposed to the single headlights of the Series I. Holy continuity error Batman! 😂
To me, there's not much noticable difference between the '66 Imperial Crown and the '65 Imperial that was used as Black Beauty in the Green Lantern series. Beautiful cars either way.
I turned 8 in January of 1966! 2 new shows!! Batman and Star Trek!! Shortly afterwards, The Green Hornet!!! I was absolutely captivated!! Then there were these other shows that sort of parodied the Super-Hero craze of the day! Captain Nice and Mr. Terrific!! Of course, the Vehicles just blew me away!! Then there was the USS Enterprise! To this day, there is NOTHING that outclasses her!!

Hi Fusion, nice video! I am 64 years old and I watched Batman on primetime TV, in 1966. I also have the 20th Century Fox DVD set. With all do respect, the bright red 1965 Mustang, is actually, a 1967. Please reply. Dave...
@@WisdomOverWicked777Rules The 1965 Mustang vs. the 1967 Mustang, is not too, too, much different, at a distance, and/or moving down the road. Please reply. Dave...
Not to take away from this great video, but FWIW the Sunbeam Alpine at 7:18 is a Series V. The Series IV had metal panels that covered the convertible top when stowed, and the vinyl cover shown in the video was introduced on the Series V. Another clue is the square corner doors and hood (bonnet), which were only on the Series V.
If I had money to burn, I would have a replica built for me but with a twist: It would be a full-EV. Consider this: Robin jumps into the Batmobile and says, "Atomic Batteries to Power, Turbines to Speed." That atomic pile at the rear of the Batcave was there to provide the atomic power to the Batmobile. Hence, it was an EV.
What does an EV use a TURBINE for? What's the source of the FLAMES shooting out of the rear of the Batmobile? Or, we could just "roll with it", and be entertained!!
Great video but I wish that omnipresent 65 Beetle got more notice! It's in almost every episode! I think that only the Batmobile gets more screen time!
Great collection! On a completely different note, how about a story of the 1928 Porter starring in My Mother The Car? There were also a lot of classic cars that Captain Manzini owned shown in that series. Jerry Van Dyke said they should have called the show My Brother The Star. Too bad he didn't choose the offer of playing Willy Gilligan in Gilligan's Island.
Point, the Batmobile was a 1955 Lincoln Futura. Saw a replica at the casino in Ontario. Canada back in the mid 70's at Niagra Falls Skylon Tower museum. It was felt, don't recall the producers of Batman 66 Commissiong a felt Batmobile. Good times. Batgirl....GRRRR! Catwoman....MEEEEOWWWW WOW WOW!
8:58 the Blues Man on the sidewalk is so stoned that he didn't react to the odd crew jumping in to the Caddy. Then when the Bat comes out, it's like his shoes are nailed down.
A friend of mine used to own the Batcycle from the movie. I remember him telling me it was a Yamaha. He sold it several years ago and I think it's in a museum now.
I'm amazed to see the 1961 Humber - I'd no idea they were ever sold in the USA. It's an exceptionally rare car in Britain now - I've only seen one in the last 10 years.
No wonder I have so much class for cars I didn't realize this when we were watching the Batman movies for all of these cars I know them and I love them and I'm thankful for you to tell me about what the vehicles are this is realer than what we're dealing with now
Nice video, but what about the van used by Batman’s Parachute Pick-up service? And who could forget the Gotham Police Department’s Anti-Lunatic Squad van? Both or those really added flavor to the show.
Fantastic info! The only corrections I believe are necessary come at the 9:00 mark. The Cadillac appears to be a ‘65 while the Mustang which drives by in the foreground is a ‘67. Otherwise, incredible work and incredibly entertaining.
Don't know about the Mustang but the video is correct about the Cadillac. It's a 1966. You can tell because the cornering lamp is in the fender, rather than being attached to the front bumper assembly. 65 cornering lights filled the whole space between the headlight and wheel well below the trim line and above the bumper. Also, You can see the divider bar in the grille, which also marks it as a 1966. Edit: that's the convertible at 9:00. You can see the differences by looking at the Cadillac at 9:12, which is a 65 and shows the bigger cornering light nicely. Great video, I'm really enjoying these (and still hoping for Perry Mason one day!)
I always have to laugh at these shows when the crimefighters always get the best parking space there is when they drive up to whatever building or place they are going to. I see that in Batman, Magnum P.I. and other shows known for their vehicles.
Sounds better... Saying automobile seems nicer than saying car. Now everything else Batman owns and builds is said to have Bat in front.. Batbelt, etc... Now the reason is the sound is more natural to most people Bat + automobile = Bat-automobile which easily flows more softer into.... BATMOBILE Harmonics!!!!
