Don Adams was a stand up comic who did comedy on the The Bill Dana Show , voiced cartoon characters including Tenn. Tuxedo and this series . It is amazing work in the field when I found out that Mr. Adams was a WW Two veteran who saw fierce fighting as a Marine and saw battle related trauma in later life . Truly amazing that he did this comic work !
I have had the honor of seeing Mr. Wakeman live 3 times 1st time in 1979 and he is totally focused on his playing surrounded by massive banks of keyboards (You can tell I have 0 musical knowledge). You can see it in his eyes and body language the intensity. I have all of Rick's works and love the solo albums the most because they flowed like water... I liked Chris Squire's interview very much also from a few years back on Master Class... Great interview.
If the internet is to be believed, that 1961 Ferrari 250 is now worth somewhere north of $1.7 million 😲 Which I think makes it the most valuable vehicle to've appeared so far in any of Fusion Kidd's videos!
The cars changed with whichever auto company furnished the cars. MoPar products were kargely used for the first two seasons. The VW Karmann Ghia was driven by Max only in the opening credits as VW was one of the sponsors of the show. This was about the time Max switched to the Shelby Mustang as well, hence the secondary vehicles became Fords and Lincolns. The fifth and final season saw Get Smart move from NBC to CBS, with GM's Buick Division becoming the provider of cars, hence Max's Opel GT, which was a captive import sold through Buick dealers.
The narrator's voice is a close match to Maxwell Smart. 🙂 Nice review of the great cars of one of my favourite TV show growing up. The sad reality is that any car from a 1960s TV show is now considered a "classic".
My Dad was the VP of Sales for Chrysler Corp. back then...he helped arrange the agreement to showcase Chrysler/Plymouth cars for the first 2 seasons...of course the show eventually made similar deals with Ford and GM...
Kidd you have gotten in many minds of people of yesterday, for you bring back many great things for the comments that I see today. Fir they love of what you post today, for life back then was better than what we see today. Semper Fi to you Kidd in everyway.
When Max was taken away from the court house in the 59 Ford Fairlane 500, the car they actually got into was a Custom 300 4 door. The steering wheel he grabbed was from a 1960 Ford, but the car they went over the embankment in was a 59 Fairlane 2 door hardtop.
The '59 Ford Galaxie turns from a (Custom) 4 door sedan into a 2 door hardtop when it takes the cliff dive. Shouldn't that have been the other way around?
Yes it should have been the other way around. But I found the interesting as well because in those old TV shows cars were always changing from the top of the cliff to the bottom of the cliff😅
Sorry about that Chief 😂 It's the Claw not the Craw. Starker we don't phht here. Max was the first person to have call waiting, Missed it by that much! Golden era of comedy. Love Get Smart!
Funny that my second owned car was a mist green 66' 4dr Newport with a painted white top exactly like one here.Mine did have AC.Solid reliable lead sled👍
Cool video and a great show. Alway did remember that show for all the cool cars but this video showcase alot more other that what Max or "Thaddeus" aka the "Chief"
ld heard the control car (white w/ zebra) was built on a AMC Javelin years ago but l did see the Mustang steering wheel. Many parts were interchangeable.
I remember seeing Sunbeam Tigers at our local Chrysler Plymouth dealership around 1965. 260 2 bbl I think. I had a 64.5 Mustang convertible with a 260 2 bbl, AT. It had decent power so I can see how the much lighter Tigers were very zippy.
I used to have a Sunbeam Alpine like that. Red. Loads of trouble. I finally sold it and got another British sports car which was also loads of trouble.
Unlikely that the GM owned German brand Opel would design a Ford motor. I think the Pinto design would have come from Fords German or UK divisions where that Pinto two litre OHC motor was used in many smaller Ford cars as the top motor option. Ford Cortina Mk 3 onwards and Taunus , Capri and Escort Mk 2. A few others as well.
@@JimAlderson-cn6ek there is a vid on RUclips called : Development of the Pinto engine With how Ford Europe developed it, but not even used by arch rival Opel.
@@hughestodd The reason why the Sunbeam switch is from my research, the Tiger was a Ford V-8, the Alpine was a 4 cylinder engine, it was a matter of being able to fit the weaponry under the hood better, it was a rarity that the chief drove the Shelby 500KR, you wouldn't have expected that
What drugs are you on.. absolutely a classic.. you are in the minority of people who couldn't enjoy this 60s tv comedy.. probably a millennial.if you took that as an insult .. well,. Zero apologies.
@jimmyj2563 sorry. I'm 61. When I was little, I remember watching it. When I watched it as an adult, it was stupid and not funny. Maybe it's funny for a less developed brain.

Missed me by THAT much 😉👍🏻
The CRAW NOT THE CRAW.

One of my favorite shows growing up
Great Video! Always loved the Sunbeam Tiger! 🐅
Kaos changing getaway cars was hilarious. A Sunbeam Arrow! 😂😂😂😂
A K A a Hillman Hunter
Yes that was great

You got to love that Shelby convertable and Agent 99.
Barbara Feldon is still with us and looking good for her age...you would still recognize her
@halseyknox the more important question what became of the GT 500?
If the internet is to be believed, that 1961 Ferrari 250 is now worth somewhere north of $1.7 million 😲

Excelente compilado de autos del Agente 86. Muchas veces veo estas series viejas para ver los autos. Muy bien hecho, lo disfrute mucho

Another great episode - thanks, FusionKidd!
Nice fun narration. Can’t believe it’s been almost 60 years since I was watching this show on our 21 inch B &W Zenith TV.
Me too

67 barracuda is also a formula S , probably a 273 commando. I believe its a 67 belvedere, what a treat seeing all those cars now worth a fortune.
So many classics, the producer must have been a car guy.
@@Brianscoronet would the S have been a 340?
@@richardrice8076273ci I believe
In the last season there were other Buicks used on the show namely Electra's & Rivieras as well as the Opel GT
I used to watch this show back when I was a kid in the 90’s when it was on TV as reruns on Nick At Nite
My Dad was the VP of Sales for Chrysler Corp. back then...he helped arrange the agreement to showcase Chrysler/Plymouth cars for the first 2 seasons...of course the show eventually made similar deals with Ford and GM...
As evidenced by all the Buicks and the Opel the final season
Missed it by THAT MUCH Fusion Kidd! 😆
Great work Fusion Kidd enjoyed!
I miss those big Imperials by the Chrysler Corporation .
Kidd you have gotten in many minds of people of yesterday, for you bring back many great things for the comments that I see today. Fir they love of what you post today, for life back then was better than what we see today. Semper Fi to you Kidd in everyway.
Great narrative to rhyme with the gorgeous cars.
Just walking down the street back then was like a classic car show!
Except the cars weren't 'classics'.
They were 'just cars'.
Most of them not worth a 2nd look.
Great show and a good bit of research!
Thanks for putting another great vid together.

loves ALL of the cars Max drove but, would have to go with the one in my favorite color. I choose the blue VW Karmann Ghia.
Sorry about that Chief 😂 It's the Claw not the Craw. Starker we don't phht here. Max was the first person to have call waiting, Missed it by that much! Golden era of comedy. Love Get Smart!
Loved the bank episode where Laramie and Max get trapped in the vault......Would you believe it....shout out the Hymie 😁.......
Nice set
That Kharmann Ghia is something
8:13 Kidd, is that a KR? It looks like it but KR usually appears after GT 500. Also 1963 Ford wagon.
Columbo was a show with great looking cars too.
groovy cars😊
Funny that my second owned car was a mist green 66' 4dr Newport with a painted white top exactly like one here.Mine did have AC.Solid reliable lead sled👍
That 250 GT WAS BEAUTIFUL
Thanks Fusion Kidd ! …. Get Smart was a hit when it came out …. The telephone in the shoe …every kid wanted one 😊
Would you believe another thumbs up?
Those were the good old days
Cool video and a great show. Alway did remember that show for all the cool cars but this video showcase alot more other that what Max or "Thaddeus" aka the "Chief"
The Belvedere the KAOS agent escapes in is a 67 Belvedere II, neat video, lots of cool cars (I have a 66 Belvedere II)
😍Oh that Barbara Feldon! 😍
Agent 99 was the best make and model on the show 😉?
The Sunbeam Motors name was sure a long term brand. I read that it was retired for good in 1981.
The tiger has a V8 engine. The Alpine has a 4-cylinder engine. I would love to have the Opel GT!
Fantastic video! Did anyone catch the Maybach emblem on the side of the Mercedes?
Nice 😊
My best friend had a 1968 Sunbeam Tiger MkII
ld heard the control car (white w/ zebra) was built on a AMC Javelin years ago but l did see the Mustang steering wheel. Many parts were interchangeable.
He also drove a Fiat 850 spyder.
This is the one place where my commenting might be appreciated.
"Not the 'Craw', the Craw!"
In other words, the producer had a deal with every car dealer in Los Angeles.
4:59 Running out of the airport.
6:07 Running out of the bank.
Did anyone else notice many of these locations had a very Seinfeld vibe?
Zebra looked like a AMX prototype
The craw? No, no not craw, CRAW.

In Germany it was called ' Minimax' and I loved it.
I remember the Sunbeam Tiger maybe just a theory that the first James Bond film is Dr No were the first James Bond car was the Sunbeam Alpine
So the ‘good’ alphabet agency was named ‘control’, interesting.
I used to have a Sunbeam Alpine like that. Red. Loads of trouble. I finally sold it and got another British sports car which was also loads of trouble.
I always liked his Sunbeam best
"The Craw?" ...
"Not Craw, Craw!"
Ótima serie
That 6 wheeled Mercedes Benz was General Burkhalter’s car on Hogan’s Heroes
Did you use chat gtp to simulate his voice
Not the Claw ! The Craw!
Not da craw, da craw!
the narrator sounds a bit like Don Adams.
1965 Sunbeam Tiger series one.
Also I saw the German vehicle from Hogans Heroes in the prison camp episode
In the pilot, Smart drove a Ferrari 250 GT cabriolet.
Had one of those oples showed at opening credits it was a fun little car opal designed first generation pinto engines for Ford pintos
Unlikely that the GM owned German brand Opel would design a Ford motor.

My bad owned both ople and pinto new engine came from Europe think the 2.3 may have been the UK developed either way fun little cars
Also had some fun with Volkswagens and loved watching get smart and all those vehicles that I had on the screen 😊

Whoever is Narrating this video sounds just like Don Adams minus the New York accent.
Hey its Inspector Gadget 😅
Would you believe?
These videos punch way above their weight. Note the narrators voice. Yup.
En France, qui n'a pas connu " Max la Menace " et ses gaffes ?!
Is that Don Adam’s real voice?
The show is similar to naked gun,Mr bean stupid antics.very English dry humor
I like it
Not the Claw, Da Craw
We don't Yippee Ky Yay in Kaos.
Horseradish and Tarantulas smell the same.
Sad Max seemed to get downgraded in cars every season, even moving from Sunbeam Tiger to Sunbeam Alpine.

I think the Opel GT is an upgrade!
Sempre quis saber o carro vermelho
