  • Originally airing for eight seasons from 1964 to 1972, Bewitched followed the fortunes of Samantha, a suburban housewife, who also happens to be a witch, married to a mere mortal human, Darren. Beyond the show's magical spells and supernatural situations, was some of the best integrated car marketing of any television series in history, featuring a variety of cars as legendary as Samantha's twinkling nose.     Bewitched is an American fantasy sitcom television series that originally aired for eight seasons on ABC from September 17, 1964, to March 25, 1972. A beautiful witch named Samantha (Elizabeth Montgomery) meets and marries a mortal named Darrin Stephens (originally Dick York, later Dick Sargent). While Samantha complies with Darrin's wishes to become a normal suburban housewife, her magical family disapproves of the mixed marriage and frequently interferes in the couple's lives.

    Growing up in the sixties and seventies , it was this show that made me fall in love with corvettes.

      I have a similar passion, I fell in love with Elizabeth Montgomery. Between her and Barbara Eden I watched a decent amount of TV back then. I like the Corvettes as well...😏

      @@martinoultonjr8779 for a first car I gotta say that's very impressive, I'm not sure how I could have survived if a had a 70 Vette as my first car. There's no way I could have BS'd my parents into a car like that, by the way congratulations on pulling that off. Both the car and yourself are hopefully doing well, what engine is in it?
      My first car was a 1973 Chevelle SS, I got it in 1985. You hardly ever see them up for sale these days.

      @@martinoultonjr8779 That's a pretty nice first car, I'm not sure I could have conned my parents into a Corvette. My first car was a 73 Chevelle SS, kind of rare nowadays. Congratulations on pulling that off, what motor does it have?

    Great cars great show! One of my favorite's back in the good old 1960's. Even though I was a little kid, I had a huge crush on the Gorgeous Liz Montgomery!
    I still have that crush!!! God bless her, the two Darrin's, Larry, and the entire cast ! And Bless the ones that have passed up in Heaven 💖💖✝✝

    Loved the show as a kid and still do as an adult. The parade of beautiful cars was and is still a highlight. Chevrolet as their sponsor did a great job of putting their best on display every week, thank you for this. - subscribed.

    Loved the cars of Bewitched. I've owned many Chevy Impala's and enjoy seeing the cars of the 60's and 70's today. Those were the days when you could tell one car from another. Loved my 1965 Chevy impala SS, Camaro, and Chevy Caprice.

    As a teen I enjoyed seeing the different cars on the show. I'm sure it influenced me to own a corvette. In 1982 I bought an 81 with 2000 miles. Still have it today with currently 25000 miles. Have two granddaughters that may be driving it to school someday. Time someone got some joy out of driving a classic.

    Great video! I love the dialogue being read in the voices of Elizabeth Montgomery and Dick York. As a car crazed little boy, I remember watching some shows just for the cars, but I loved Bewitched because I was absolutely twitterpated by Samantha.

      We'd be pretty well-off with practically any one of 'em, I'll take the 69 gold Camaro with the endura bumper & '67 427 C2 convertible. It was like looking at a catalog for Barrett Jackson.

    In 1978, my grandfather let me drive his 1959 Impala. It was in an empty church parking lot and only for a minute or two, but it was a thrill for a 11 yr old me. That's about the same time I got car fever.

    In the 8 seasons of Bewitched, yes they drove Malibu's, Corvair, Impala, Caprice while Larry drove a Caprice, Impala, & finally Corvettes, but I do love the Reactor Darrin got from Endora!!

    I loved that show when I was a kid, especially for the cars!! Got my license in 1965. Dad had a 65 Corvair Corsa, Mom a 63 Ford Galaxy Wagon, then a 66 Mustang.

    During the entire run of the series 1964 -72 Chevrolet sponsored the show and provided the vehicles. I just got my age handed to me I remember Larry tate driving corvettes .I remember watching a 1967 episode when one of the characters drove a new 67 427 Stingray convertible. 😊

    When I was a little kid my mom watched this show , us kids had to watch it also ,i remember my dad being at home one day ,see , he was a mechanic at the local Chevy dealership that's all he could talk about was the CHEVYS 😂❤

      @irocitZ Don't feel bad as I owned a 73 440,4 speed,Duster,383 Challenger 4 speed,Cuda with a 440 stuffed in it and 4 speed, and a 69 charger in the 80s,and wish I still had all of those plus a few more I had... Just to be able to enjoy them again and not so much for what they're selling for now as I miss those days of cruising around in cool Mopar steel while everyone else was riding bow ties and furds...

      @@Wil_Liam1 i like Mopar, I pretty much like everything thats American. back in the 90s you could have almost any average muscle car for 10k or less give or take, obviously LS6 Chevelle, A12 Roadrunner or Shelby would have been more. The fact that a normal run of the mill is 7 or 8 times higher, something is wrong with that. My house didn't go up that much, not even close. I mean, I have a car or two right now, it's not a 60s car. I'm trying to figure out how I can pull that off again without overpaying.

    These were certainly great times to be alive and driving, I was late to the party though obtaining my driver's license around 1983 though. Regardless though I saw a lot of these fantastic cars on the road growing up, I purchased a 71' Challenger as my first driver too, great cars and I've always loved old Mopars.

    One note about the cat in the tree - that was actually the next door neighbor, Miss Parsons. That Reactor car sure got around on TV in the 60s! Star Trek used it as well as Batman when it was dressed up as the Catwoman car! It cracked me up in the committee meeting when all of the older women got into 60s muscle cars instead of more conservative vehicles! Haha!

    It was cool in this era my Brother and I grew up in the 1950s-70s that the TV shows were sponsored by the Big three automakers from GM, Ford and Mopar. You'd always see their latest vehicles ! 👍 😎

    The 67 C2 Corvette is the most desirable GM on the show. It had the big block 427 powering it. Look closely at the hood. Plus growing up in that era I honestly don't remember a 4- door Corvair. I had friends with the 2- door convertible.

    Pretty interesting seeing how Chevrolet was the primary sponsor of the TV series, & having all those other manufactures in the TV show not to . mention the countless ones as back drops that weren't mentioned. I did notice there toward the end in the skyline a American gas station sign. This was one of my favorite TV shows to watch as a child, I still own 3 Chevrolet Corvairs 64,65. & a 67.

    If you were a teenage boy in those days this was your concept of the American Dream. A great job, a barbie doll wife, a beautiful house in a dream neighborhood, and of course ever more fantastic domestic cars. If you arrived a bit later when it got replaced by All In The Family, or The Mary Tyler Moore Show, it pretty much defines your current views.

    Nice job on the Dick York voice! That's indistinguishable from his actual voice (at least to me.) Elizabeth Montgomery's voice isn't perfect but certainly excellent. It would have cracked me up if you had sneaked in Alice Pearce ("Gladys Kravitz!") "AB-NAA! AB-NAA!!" Thanks for doing these.

    Credit for the The Reactor (the first vehicle shown) goes to custom car builder Gene Winfield. The car also appeared in an episode of Star Trek and as Catwoman's Catmobile in the 1960s Batman TV show.

    The 69 z28s and the Corvettes are everywhere in this show. I grew up around C3s they will always be my favorite. I never owned one but owned newer models most C3s Ive found have problems Ive always had a bootleg used car lot 😂 in my backyard hey! gotta have a side hustle to make some extra cash. I don't collect cars everything is for sale a white 1977 L 88 is the most beautiful car love that yr.

      Remember the show from the mid 70’s called “The Magician” starring Bill Bixby?
      He always drove a white C3 , I think it was only on for one or two seasons.

    I loved how Bewitched had all new Chevs , I did not care for the style of the 67 Impalas and the 70 , the rest were great . It is the first time ,I saw a Rolls Royce with fender skirts .

    I had noticed before, on several shows everything on the street was a Chrysler or Ford product but, never noticed everything on the street was a GM in Bewitched! It reminds me of our family reunions! Every GM line was there except, Cadillac.

    The cars are great! But I'm totally impressed by the incredible voice actors. The woman sounds just like Elizabeth Montgomery and the man sounds just like Dick York. I'm wondering if the voice actors had been searched for. Or if we have technology now that can replicate voices from a sampling?

      Paul Lynde's performance as Harold Harold was so lively, the character of Uncle Arthur soon followed...and Bernard Fox (Osgood Rightmire in the stalled-out '66 Caprice) soon appeared as Dr. Bombay

    Nice little dent on the passenger side 1/4 panel at around 17.25, just behind the door of that blue 70 Impala. Probably wasn't noticeable on non HI-DEF TVs back then, originally people watched this on 20 inch or smaller black and white tube TVs with an antenna to help with reception, that was almost always far from perfect until cable TV like 15 years later.

      I spent a lot more time than I should have, trying to prove it a Ranch Wagon. It is a Police car after all, wouldn't it be the bottom rung? I checked out the 1970 Ford Police vehicles brochure and 'chure enuf there is (was) a Country Sedan cop car. Looked closer at the video and it does appear to say Country on the rear fender, Sedan being broken off. Then I notice it has full wheel covers and decide, it's *not* a cop car at all, just a studio prop! 🥴

      @@trudygreer2491 Most cars you see in TV shows and movies were grabbed as cheaply as possible and made into what the studio needed, at that time, so yes I think it was a Country Sedan made into what they needed.

    I loved every one of those general motors cars. I really like the corvair. And then seeing all those women getting into those Camaros. The RS and the SS.

      I especially liked the episodes with Serena. Lots of leggy short dresses and that raven hair really made Elizabeth extra sexy.

      @@rudolphguarnacci197 yeah, I've seen her in other roles. She was pretty good looking, i think she was supposed to be just a nice looking house wife for the show. It seemed like the producers didn't want her looking too sexy, she easily could have been. Barbara Eden on the other hand, that was a little different.

    If I recall. Pontiac Motors sponsored 'Bewitched.' You often would see them driving Pontiac cars on the show. My old hometown. Pontiac, Michigan

    On I Dream of Jeannie they drove Pontiacs. Bonnevilles, Catalinas, Firebirds etc. Love those classic Gm cars.

    1:55 '63 or '64 chevy p/u 2:02 directly behind them: '61 Chevy Impala, next to that a 1st gen Corvair the gold car a '62-'65 ChevyII and the red car way in the back is a '63 Impala.3:00 '65 Chevelle wagon and in the background a yellow '68 Chevelle..4:21 It's that red Impala again! Also a '65 Chevy wagon and a '68 Chevy. 4:56 that '62 Buick special leading the way is very cool.5:01 just for giggles the car sorta behind the yellow chevy is a '57 Pontiac6:18 WOW11:24 ok I have 2 point out 2 cool cars in the background: a early '60's Rambler and behind it a '61 Studebaker lark.11:35 nice '66 or '67 Mercury Caliente.11:37 &11:46 I wondered why the switch to Pontiac and I remembered the '70's introduction was delayed by an auto workers strike.12:32 how cool is that?
