@I suck at being bad everytime i hear an M3 E92 and a M5 E60 on videos, i think they are pretty close in terms of sound. But when i hear them in person, a modded M5 or M6 sounds waaaay better.
I'd still prefer an M3 E90 over an M5 E60 anyday as well. Smaller, lighter, sounds still great.
But I think it's a beauty outside styling

@I suck at being bad true. Its because this M6 probably has longer headers. Watch some vids of M6 V10s with long tube headers, they have a deeper tone than the ones with fully straight pipes only. Oem Headers decatted have that F1 scream, the longer headers make the M6 sound more like an S6 V10.

This idiot will get even more weight reduction when the tires eventually when hitting fender at high speed, and this car will be crashed to thousand pieces.
That V10 is an absolute masterpiece cemented in the books of history.
5 liter with insane F1 technology, getting 100BHP from 1 liter of capacity... This is exactly the same power to capacity ration that 1.1 FIRE from Fiat Seicento developed with budget turbo kit. But even with natural aspiration could go over 120BHP, and no, it didn't break down istantly. 100BHP 1.1 FIRE showed no signs of damage after 100 thousand kilometers... This literally means 80's budget Fiat technology is enough to achieve what BMW did here. The rest is just hype and marketing propaganda.

@@-BuddyGuy This isn't any bullshit. 80's budget Fiat FIRE series engines can be tuned to get same power to capacity ratio as this BMW, and they will run similar mileages, even using factory standard cranks and crankshaft.
F1 technology in this BMW is nothing but propaganda... 'We use metal, same as F1 engines!'. That's what it is.
A hundred BHP per liter is literally no achievent, 60s pushrod mass produced engines were close to that target already. Trouble only starts when you go beyond 200BHP per liter, because that requires very tough materials and seriously good lubrication and cooling system, but it's still nowhere near the F1 levels of engineering.
Sorry, did you just compare a 1.1 litre fiat 4 cylinder engine with a 5 litre BMW V10 engine? 🤣

@@steventhornton4716 At least in the 30 or so e6x M cars we've serviced I've never heard of an SMGIII failure. Replaced some hydraulic pump motors, clutches, even a couple valve units but never a complete transmission.

Had the pleasure of owning M6 E63 as my daily drive for 3 years! Man oh man what a car, so many good memories, not a single issue with gearbox or the engine. If you know how to take care of it ofcourse ))

I've owned my e63 V10 for 8 years. Only problem I've ever had was to replace the alternator at 127k. Otherwise The perfect beast! Wouldn't sell it for twice the money I paid for it.
4 years of ownership with no problems, all preventative maintenance completed which is the key if you want a reliable V10 M5 …. Fantastic cars to own as a weekend toy, i don’t think I will ever sell this car in the coming future it’s that addictive 😎👌🇬🇧
How much was the consumption with a quiet driving ? 17l/100 ? (I have a CLA45 AMG that consumes 8.5l/100 when driving quiet). Thanks !
@@davidmitch44 if your worried about fuel consumption matey I wouldn’t purchase a V10 as it’s horrendous… if driven normally around 15 MPG maybe more on a long drive but full throttle it’s probably around 8 MPG … I see it as smiles per gallon 😉

I think it’s crank. For some reason it’s relatively common for dyno’s in Europe to actually give you a brake horsepower number instead of a whp number, idk if its due to it just being simpler (no conversion or thinking required) or what but yeag
@@loganamurray64 I think the most accurate method is WHP. Horse power is already obtained through torque since it is the torque which is measured. From the torque, the power is calculated. To have BHP, I guess that they need to input the theoretical BHP given by the car maker so that they can correlate the WHP to BHP so it introduces another systematic error in the calculation because it depends on how accurate is the power given by BMW, Mercedes, Ford...etc
The best way to evaluate the power gain is just the difference of HP measured before and after the tune because this value will always be absolute. This way, if the dyno is not accurately calibrated, you ll always know how much HP you gain before/after the tune if that makes sens. And best is to express as WHP and not BHP. That what matters eventually: how much power available at the wheels to put it on the ground. If you lose like 100 HP between brake and wheels, it is irrelevant to express BHP.
@@StefBelgium Oh I agree 100%, there is no better way to measure hp and torque than by measuring it at the wheel. Unfortunately, I guess some people just don't think that way
The manual gearbox is not made to get fast to 100km/h its made for you to feel the shifts. Thats why this is one of the most brutal cars out there.
Ever since the E63 ///M6 came out in 05 i was a kid at that time maybe like 10 or something end I thought that car was so sexy end here i am in my 20s saying in my opinion the E63 m6 is the sexiest bmw to come out for the past 15 years

I dont get it, people say that the shifts are garbage on comfort mode because they are slow. But wasnt it done on purpose? You are in comfort mode. Its supposed to shift slowly and nicely.

A guy in the village I was living in, got a first gen M6 and soon after that pairs of black stripes started to mysteriously appear all over the place. An awesome car!

@I suck at being bad what other 4 passenger v10s can you name? This is a GT car like an Aston and way more reliable than people think. If serviced properly they can be driven a couple hundred K. Also every incredible sounding car that revs up to 8,000+ Rpm and has v10 will be worth a lot when everything else is electric and silent

S, CL, SL, all 65amg and 600 have doubled in price the last 3-5 years. but a N/A engine with no turbos will, just insane sound will be very desirable.

@I suck at being bad probably because there are so many aftermarket options for bearings and not many people replace them with the oem ones. A Gallardo is literally 5x the price so not really a comparison

It's awesome but it's also why you can pick these cars up for 20k. It's quite intricate and has a large number of design quirks that mean you'll spend more time with it on the lift than on the road.
I love my E63 and everything...just wish I could drive it every day.

My 2007 E63 M6 is completely OEM I own it for the past 11 years. I love the original wheels the chrome grille. So that car can be put back to original spec easily the way I like them !

The sound is insane I had one with catless headers, x pipe and eisenmann race exhaust. Would set off alarms cold starting it in some parking decks

@@rares7553 i'm not gonna deny it's loud. But you don't run it in a village at 5000rpm+. Most motorbikes make more sound. i live on a second floor, the garage is 4 floors below. and i hear when my neighbour turns on his motorbike and he doesn't even rev it.

I don't care what people say about the reliability. I believe the V10 experience is worth it even if it's just one time. Just imagine if the F10 M5 got the V10 also. There won't be another car like this ever again.

Gearbox and engine has many options you could choose from and save your favorite on the default settings.
It's not cars fault you don't spent some time to do that. :D
The only complain I agree on- is the steering. It needs an active steering. Don't know if it was availability for this model tho.

I love my m6 it's so fun to drive..I have had mine for 6yrs now ended up throwing a supercharger on it 5yrs ago..never had any rod bearing issues. Its sounds completely different with my setup. She screams..I have catless longtube headers xpipe, cutouts, methonal injection and more.

IMO to convey loudness you should just place sound meter in the recording. Seeing if it is 70, 80, 90 or over 100 dB will be sufficient to get the picture.

There’s a company in Australia that will punch out the displacement to 6.3L and you can get about 700hp NA. If I get rich that’s one of the things I’m buying
when the car drives with high speed over a bump, the tyre will be cut like a hot knife cuts butter and explode- the fender must not touch the tyre at any time, especially not near the outside..its extremely dangerous- I have witnessed the same thing at 280 kmh in a long curve on the Autobahn
Well i love my M6, never going to sell it, it drives nicely, has great F1 Sound. Of Course there are turbo charged cars out there which are faster, but they dont have a soul... .
For me my M6 slightly tuned is way enough, couldnt even drive it out to max speed, since roads are to bad or speed limit or or or.....top speed 317km/h gps reached, but car can go faster

its not the lowering, you can clearly see a 20 mm spacer on the back it needs a 15 mm spacer on the back.
i had one like before..
+ fast natural aspirated engine
+ great brakes
- bad fuel econonmy
- engine gets hot in traffic so the car is not daily drive
- uncomforted seats
- you cannot hit gas pedal %100 until you hit 70 miles..before that speed car spins a lot you lose control
- transmission dies every 10-15.000km to fix and replaced (flywheels i mean) and its very expensive
if you are rich buy this car
if not just leave it
I have got an E46 318i. Its also Insane Loud. It has a self build Exhaust. Sometimes the alarms og other cars are going on in the garage

Yes, there,s nothing like a v8 from dodge,ford and mercedes benz, and even the 911 gt3, with it,s 4.0 6 cylinder, but the s85 v10 is the best sounding motor bar none. You can agree or not, but i think it does, too bad it,s a ticking timebomb.
it isnt, change the connecting rod bearing every 80 to 100tkm, and drive the engine warm(especially the oil) and the engine will hold. Dont listen to some crap people, who dont have the money to have the car/engine in maintenance condition. I own and drive a M6 since 6 years, and so far no problems
I can respect your opinion, i have no choice. Yes, i guess if you do not have the money to maintain that motor, then maybe they should avoid buying those car. You are one of the very few, that has praised the s85. Whatever you are doing to keep it alive, keep doing. Spread the word to other owner, so it can possible save the reputation of this engineering masterpiece.
