Yea, an update on Ava! So cute to see her all fluffed up and content just sitting next to you. Happy to hear Ava is having such a positive effect on Jinx (Bubba,lol). Sorry to hear about the scissor beak, certainly hope it's something you and Dave can eventually learn how to do, especially if it's required once a month. Ava's a happy girl and that's all that counts. Thanks Jamie, always good to see you.❤️👍

I think its wonderful that you try new ways to handle Jinx behaviour and never stop to improve yourself!
Here in germany it is forbidden by law to keep one parrot alone. We have to have a male and female (best case) of the same species.
It should help to prevent parrots suffer from mental illness and loniless. Especially seeing the human as mating partner would be a big problem that leads to aggression...
So nice to see Ava’s progress. Would LOVE a series of videos on husbandry “tricks” like toweling!!! Please please 🙏🏻

Yes- I saw that with my birds- they love having mates!! They do not like being alone!
She is too cute chika! Glad to know the wing flap thing may be an OK thing, my cockatoo does something like that. Check out Don over at Chloe Sanctuary on youtube. He works with cockatoos and I know has been able to deal with crossbeak in some of his birds without toweling by training them to get used to the dremel tool and the the beak trimming as well. I have 2 rescue cockatoos, triton sulpher crest and goffin, and his advise has been really helpful for their types of needs. Toos are a little special in their own way...lol. BTW thanks for the cook book! We have tried a few dishes and they have been fun! My Slugger is a bit picky but he likes some of the stuff so far.

My male caique is a baby in his cage too. As soon as he is out though, he is a big man :D

So, we where reading a book for our sons bedtime and it had a badger in it… me being the parent not reading decided to start, “badger badger badger badger”ing that swiftly annoyed my wife. I was telling her about some of the birds in your husbands acts,” to include a flock of budgies…. . . . Budgie budgie budgie budgie” to which she joined in on the second verse of budgie budgie budgies, lol. Now I think if you can’t get a bird to sing the Budgies, maybe you could have your little hooman here the badger song, and replace badger with budgie and get to whole bunch of budgies dancing… lol! I think I could see this being funnier for other bird owners…. And men… I bet your Husband would laugh at the concept and beg for its creation… at least as a silly husband I would hope so anyways. I know you’re all very busy.

Do you know what’s pretty neat? Birdtricks doesn’t put undo emphasis on their birds TALKING, but rather non-talking Communications which seems like that enhances real animal transmission of meaning.
Animals don’t know (generally) what words mean, but they DO respond to non-verbal actions. That’s far more meaningful for learning IMO. Well Done
