Police report:
“On 01/12/2022 I conducted a traffic stop on a silver Mitsubishi for traveling 53MPH in a 45MPH zone, and for failing to maintain a single lane. I approached the driver side of the vehicle and identified the driver as Brandon and the passenger as Joshua. When speaking with Brandon, I noticed the odor of mj emitting from the vehicle.
Another Deputy arrived on scene and, Brandon and Joshua were asked to exit the vehicle. Due to Brandon and Joshua reaching around the vehicle, and in back packs when they were in the vehicle, they were placed in handcuffs and detained. Both were read their Miranda Warning, stated they understood it, and agreed to continue to speak with me. Both stated they did not have medical cards.
A search of the vehicle was conducted, which yielded 2 different bags of, both weighing over 20 grams, 1 in a backpack that Joshua had between his legs, and 1 in a lunchbox in the rear of the vehicle, an open container that was between Joshua’s legs, and a Taurus 9mm that Joshua was sitting on.
While speaking with Joshua, I placed him in the vehicle and informed him he was under arrest. At this time, Joshua spun his legs towards the exterior door, as I was attempting to shut it, kicked the vehicle door, which caused it to strike my right hand. Joshua then had to be forced back into the vehicle by Deputies. He then was transported to the Santa Rosa County Jail, while on the way, he continued to hit the cage of the squad car.”

I was tripping balls on shrooms and knew I was gonna get caught, so I just told em straight. They were cool deputies, I tripped in the drunk tank and got out next morning.
When 99% of people you deal with are lying to you, treating you like an idiot thinking you'd believe their BS, I bet honesty would go LOOONG way too if I was a cop. Also when your lying the cops get cagey cuz if they know your lying then that means they know you're trying to get out of the situation. Which means there's a possibility that you might try something else to get out of the situation, something violent.
Being honest probably takes a load off of them because you're way less likely to escalate anything after that point.

While I am extremely unproud to admit this, and also embarrassed, I once got pulled over because I was driving funny according to the officer. I may have been driving funny because I was fiddling with the radio, which was true, which I told the office. However I had taken Xanax and had a couple beers that night and definitely was not sober. I could drive straight but I was still a danger to myself and others. He came up to my window, we talked he came back and wished me good night. How you act as everything. I learned from that and didn't repeat the same thing, just because I got lucky once before. Don't go doing what I did, but if you do something stupid, act innocent polite and as mannerly as possible. Don't act nervous.

You are NOT going to talk yourself out of a charge EVER, just tell them you don't want to make a statement and to talk to your lawyer. Talking only gives them more to use against you once it goes to court and locks you into whatever bs story you came up with at the time while under pressure.

not really ive been pulled over several times cop does normal statement you know why i pulled you over said yes speed tell him speed usually get told to slow it down with a warning normally for 10 over. so yea honesty does go a long way being honest could have also just had cop do less paperwork and write less tickets lmao
It goes a long way unless you're actually a criminal lol. Then you don't talk. If you just got pulled over for speeding or some shit there's no reason to lie unless you possess and are asked about any illegal drugs/weapons in your car (which would make you a criminal). If you didn't commit a crime and just a traffic infraction or something then yes, being honest and making their life easier will probably make yours easier too and they will let you off with a warning, granted you weren't going like 40 over. It sucks but it's ultimately up to a cop's discretion and bias in situations where you get pulled over for speeding or something and if they don't like you, they can hand you a ticket and vice versa.
@@saceurai1729 you're talking about traffic violations vs drug and weapons charges. They're worlds different, and no amount of honesty will help you in that situation more than being polite and shutting up until you get a lawyer.

If they are asking you this, the answer is *no.* They will act like speaking to them without your lawyer will somehow make your case better. They will be friendlier, tell you they'll help you out, or act like cooperation will go better for you. *It will not matter.* At the end of the day, they have a job to do, and that job is a lot easier if you don't have a lawyer to complicate things for them. I'm a big supporter of law enforcement, but people need to be smarter about things like this. 11:41 is a good example of what I'm talking about.

Never speak to the cops without an attorney. EVER! I'm not a fan of a lot things cops have to put up with, i.e. people harassing cops at stops and crime scenes for clicks and views, 1a frauditors, etc. However, in situations like this, they are not here to "help you," they are here to gather as much information against you. #StopSelfSnitching
