On June 12, 2022, police were monitoring city surveillance cameras when they observed a female with an active felony warrant in Wausau, WI. When they made contact, she ignored their commands and continued to walk away. Officers were able to detain her but she would not allow them to search her and demanded to be taken to jail immediately.
The purpose of the featured content is to show the law enforcement interaction. It is NOT to publicly shame, ridicule, or degrade the individuals involved. Today’s world is swarmed with politics and conversations that are often misleading about our law enforcement officers. That's for her lawyer to figure out. The irony of someone versed enough in the rules of etiquette to request a female officer, and then swearing like a sailor and spitting at another person was amusing to me.

"Failure to appear" is not exactly a high crime. I know someone who had a "failure to appear" warrant put out on them over a speeding ticket. Know why they "failed to appear"? Because they had to flee to another state to escape an abusive partner.

I read several articles that with courts flooded, jail and prisons overflowing, that some DA's are Not sending cases to court. It's a national issue.
Why were those charges dismissed? That’s why people like her feel free to do this sort of thing to police officers, there are no consequences! It’s time for District Attorneys and Judges to have our police officers backs instead of either letting the criminals go or giving the criminals light sentences.

Basically, it's not worth the state's time and money pursing an additional charges when they already have enough to lock her up, and a judge probably would not give her any additional time for them anyways. The state just doesn't have the resources to prosecute everything.

That's easy to answer. Left wing extremist DA's. Cops catch them, but charges are more often than not dismissed. I think a good example would be the Summer of Love Riots of 2020. Where rioters seized blocks calling it the Chaz, burned police stations, threw explosives at cops, and beat anyone they wanted. Adding fuel to the fire you had democrat politicians saying things like Kamala Harris and I quote "Protesters should not let up", while many people lost their business and lives, like the 16 year old kid that drove into the Chaz and was gunned down by extremist.
Thank the judges and the plea bargains for emboldening such behavior.

It must be awfully frustrating to an Officer when all the charges get dropped or dismissed.
Why? I don't think they get a little notification in their email or anything. I doubt they keep tabs on 99% of the arrests they make. Plus sometimes charges get dismissed because the officer doesn't show up to court to testify.

The charges were "dismissed" as part of her plea deal where she saved the court a lot of time and money by admitting to her other crimes rather than face court on all of them. She had to eat humble pie to get them dismissed. Then they are included in the "reading" to the judge and taken into account during sentencing. It s all part of a little game they play in the justice system to save tax payer time and money.

Yes, it makes sense they dropped the charges, because the US Justice system is F up. She did commit an offense, but getting charged 4 times for basically the same thing or at most two offenses is crazy. I love how she kept screaming "I have a civil right to request a female!!" Like yeah, and you've already exercised that right multiple times. But a request is just that -- a request. They're not obligated to fulfill a request, especially when they can't reasonably do so.
It’s interesting to see how things go diffefently in different places. I was in a car with my ex and his friends (we used to smoke weed all the time) and got pulled over. The boys were searched but me and the girl just stood there looking dumb bc the cops wanted a female to search us (they never actually had a female come and search cause I guess they could tell we were being honest) but it made me think only female cops could search female citizens 😂😂 now I know that’s not the case

They could have waited the 35 minutes, the time of the police is not so important as to not do things the right way. They also could have taken her to the jail where they have a female to do these searches.

THIS is what's wrong with our justice system: zero consequences.
What is wrong with our Justice System is that these officers are still employed and not being charged with a crime, themselves. ZERO CONSEQUENCES for those we trust to uphold the law, but do not honor that trust. Instead, they usurp the law, and people's rights. Yet, these criminals are still employed, just waiting for their next victim.

They had a right to be searched by a female upon request. They denied her that right. She could've sued. City probably didn't want the hassle. Charges were most likely dropped so she didn't sue.

All the charges resulted from resisting which isnt a crime but a natural reaction. And failure to appear charges can be dropped pending the situation. A person should never be penalized for self defense

The charges appear to have been dropped by the prosecutor as part of a plea agreement in which the defendant pleaded no contest to other charges. This is a common way to secure convictions without the need for costly and time-consuming trials. She's already a felon, and concurrent sentencing for these charges probably wouldn't have extended her incarceration significantly or involved any other benefit from the state's perspective, so you dismiss them in exchange for just getting the conviction.

It is not always the case that never being told 'no' as a child is bad. I was never told no - my mother did this on purpose, and told us so. I have never committed any sort of crime, been arrested, etc. I have 2 degrees from (one of) the hardest/best universities on the planet, with a GPA of 3.97. I won science contests in high school. I've had successful careers in both music and in computer science. There's a senior programmer at NASA who publicly referred to me as "brilliant". I've been happily married for 35 years. So let's not generalize about cause & effect with respect to "never being told 'no'".
All charges dismissed is ridiculous. They need a new DA to hold criminals accountable.

But, they did state that the previous charges against her resulted in months of jail time. So they did hold her accountable for the previous felony.

In terms of state law, I’ve heard that Wisconsins jurisdiction system is awful, which is why there’s many videos of people acting this way towards Wisconsin police and getting away without any charges

The DA probably dismissed the charges because the cops violated the female on female search policy, which led to all the charges (resisting, spit, etc).

The guy from Panama ssid : it wouldn't happen in Panama. The police would put the truncheons to him and not only he would walk to the police car he would run ...or opt for getting beat so bad he couldn't get in a car on his own. THEN and only then they'd carry him to the back seat. Seeing this video, i think in some cases such policy should be used in the US

Her behavior/reaction seems to me as the reaction of a rape/abuse survivor when they are manhandled and controlled. She simply asked for a female officer to conduct a body search.

She was found guilty on some other of her cases and spent several months in jail.
Imagine having to go through all of that as an officer, the abuse and all sorts. Just to find out she got off completely free and is out there doing this all again.

it's privilege at its worst. if you have connections up at the top, there's no telling what you can get away with. And it has always been like this unfortunately. I had a Japanese tutor who was a flight attendant for Japan Airlines back in the day and she told me stories of all the shitty behavior from "business class" passengers
