      He’s clearly not all there.
This is textbook cannabis induced psychosis and he did what he needed to do to “ground” himself back to reality. He didn’t hurt anyone, he scared some people and that’s not cool. But he didn’t know this was going to happen when he smoked that joint.
      Now he does.
When I smoke skunk strains I can get delusions, sometimes paranoid. It’s like a brief “trip” into psychosis and it’s 100% out of his control.
He took care of himself by jumping into the water, as dangerous as it was. That lake probably worked better than a bottle of Xanax would have.

He knew he needed to literally cool down, and calm himself with nature (we ALL NEED that in certain situations obviously, but few of us recognize it, ...but he did!)
If one thing is obvious, The cops motivation was NOT to help him, that's for sure, they just wanted to "catch" him, aka get him into custody.
And I'll play the other side for fun, ..if he WAS running from the cops, ...then he calmed himself in the process, which made the arrest much smoother for the 'hunters hunting the mentally ill' in this case. (sorry, I meant "police")
