“On 09.14.2022 Deputy Register was headed east when he observed Preston driving a red Chevy pickup truck. Deputy Register had just previously confirmed that Preston had a suspended driver’s license with multiple priors.
While Deputy Register was escorting Preston to his patrol car, Preston began to run on foot. Deputy Register advised dispatch that he was 10-31(in pursuit) on foot, he was able to catch Preston tackling him to the ground, Preston would attempt to wrap Deputy Registers body up with his arms, Deputy Register preformed a takedown on Preston, while on the ground Preston continued to resist Deputy Register and Deputy Chief Hogan, Deputy Register then drive stunned Preston. Preston immediately stopped resisting both officers and was secured into handcuffs.”

However, if Preston would ultimately go Deputy Register and be man enough to sincerely apologize for trying to get the officer to violate his oath of office regarding what was already documented on camera, their relationship might have the chance to survive. However, Preston clearly demonstrated to the Deputy that he's not the type of "friend" anyone wants to have!

Ive been caught so many times driving without a license ....call it lucky or whatever , but at the time I was broke and needed to pay 1500$ in tickets and fines to reinstate my license , theres alot of good cops that understand and work with you but it only takes one asshole cop to cuff you .

Two friends, two different life paths.
My brother and I were raised by the same parents and grew up in the same neighborhood, but he chose to hang out and listen to different friends. We are still friends but, our lives are very different today.
Nobody is luckier than others, there are consequences for every little or big decision we make.
Neither the "hood" you grew up in nor your parents dictate your future, it's up to each one of us.
Plenty of people are luckier than others.... Some people are also genetically predisposed towards things like addiction and mental illness and/or personality types that are more likely to result in poor decision making capabilities.
Yes and no. Some people start life so deep in the hole and can’t see out of it. If they are fortunate they will come across people who can throw them a rope. Others start life on cloud 9 and won’t ever understand humility. To say “neither that hood you grew up in or your parents dictate your future” is oversimplifying it. There are way more opportunities when you aren’t stuck in the hole. Hell, you might be so far down it that you don’t even realize there’s free ground to stand on.

I've experienced the same thing with some of my friends I went to high school with. We both grew up in the same neighborhood, went to the same school, had the same opportunities, but ended up living completely different lives. I knew when I was hanging out with the wrong people or doing something that's going to get me in trouble.

There’s no body of a crime though, he didn’t commit an actual crime. No property was damaged, no violence occurred, he didn’t impede on anybody else’s freedom. He wasn’t even swerving while driving, the cop would’ve been all over that as to why he pulled him over. He was very clear as to why he pulled him over saying that he knew he didn’t have a drivers license. That’s not enough of an articulation to say that you committed something worthy of being locked in a fucking cage for.

I used to run a cellphone store. One of my assistant managers’ best friends (20 years, took families on vacation together, etc) came in with a phone problem. Once she found out it wasn’t covered by a warranty, she went absolutely nuts. Called her “best friend” the most ungodly things. People suck. That’s why I got out of retail.

This is just like my town here in Kentucky. Went to school with every guy on police dept. We still b.s. with each other by the coffee pot on my way to work at the gas station. I bought a Mustang GT years ago and got pulled over by my buddy and he asked me why the hell I was going so fast. I told him c'mon Todd, like you didn't do the same when you got that Camaro. early release is an incentive to get inmates to behave well, and for longer sentences take classes, develop life skills, get their GED, etc etc.

I was a little asshole when I was growing up and in my early teens and we had a community cop that knew me by my name like this. He would always catch me in the middle of doing stupid shit. Anyway years went by and I was in the army and I got pulled over one night when I was on leave and it was this cop. The first thing he said to me was “how are you, and I knew you were in the army now” he said, “ I always knew you had a better path to go down and I was never going to give up on you lads”.
We shook hands and wished each other well. A few months later I was in Iraq thanks to that scumbag Tony Blair.

I'm pretty sure he was already on probation. He spent 3 months in jail, which is a common time frame for probation holds. I'm guessing he sat there in jail for 3 months, then went to court where they gave him time served and tacked on 3 more years of probation. This is just an educated guess based on past experiences.
