- On the 6th of July 2022 Steve Davis and Gaz Williams had their first public performance in The Hare and Hounds Birmingham as part of John Biddulph's Modular Music Machinations.
The set lasted 45 minutes and was a pure improvisation carried out on two Eurorack modular synthesiser rigs. Everything played was generated fresh and in the moment with no reliance on anything pre determined other than a loose arrangements regarding tempos. Gaz sent a master clock to Steve and that was the only linking element to make sure everything stayed in time. Видеоклипы
This is Steve Davis?....Steve Davis... the snooker player? God damn it! I, again have slipped into a different reality. How do I get home?
Steve’s gone a lot more experimental since Snooker Loopy.
Awesome 😀
This is just amazing. I had no idea that the ex snooker star Steve Davis was and is a modular synth fiend. Fantastic work from both of you. Would love to see you live 😊
I remember years ago seeing a thing on the telly about him, he had a soul show on local radio, that changed my mind about Steve "Boring" Davis!
Steve Davis is a new Anthony Child 😂 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤ hes my all time favourite snooker player, and now hes my ne favourite musician :))
Ha! 2 legends. Fantastic vibe lads.
Thanks Gaz and Steve! Loved it! Can we expect some more???? I hope so!
This was really good thank you both. One could almost say ‘interesting.’
Awesome, so good to see and hear. More please.
Brilliant - simply brilliant!

Good stuff!! Would love to see your rig you are using as it is now.
Sounded even better live. Pleasure to meet you Gaz. Dawn & Rog (Sonic Talk and Kate Bush T’s)
I need to figure out how to add voice samples, I guess it's easy, but I'm new to this.
Great set and enjoyed seeing you both play together, hoping for more.
Sampling or sample player module 😉
@@leftmono1016 I want to add verbal quotes from people that inspire me like Terence McKenna for example. But no idea how. I was thinking that I could buy a sampler and save the voice onto that and play at will.
@@davidbetts2980 - most sample modules or standalone samplers will do that for you.
The easiest way would be to record the quotation from your phone or other device into the audio input of your chosen sampler.
Or, if you have the quotation as an audio file, say in a laptop, transfer that file onto your sampler.
@@leftmono1016 Thank you mate, think I'm going to buy a novation circuit tracks next and see if I can do it with that. Thanks again, I really appreciate your time.
Make noise Morphagene or 1010 Blackbox seem to be popular ways of adding samples in a setup like this
Fantastic. Your best work. What did you use for the vocal samples they are very crisp.
Interesting!
Vinyl press or even a Bandcamp release please 🙏🏻
Theatrical patch cables. I prefer it when people play brilliant records at the same speed and mix em
Nice set … anyone know where I can get some of those knobs Steve had on his korg sq 1 ? Orange and green 😁🪐👍👍
Brilliant! Did Gaz did the "sample manipulation"? Tried to figure who played what... Interesting sounds. Totally surprised :D
Steve is cool, he most be loaded, he could be sunning himself on the balcony of a luxury Spanish villa, but instead he's hunched over his little Eurorack rig, getting his groove on!
Is there more? Please, please let the answer be yes and let us all hear and see it.
Oh yes!
good stuff - musique concrete meets modular
Vocal samples from The Brain That Wouldn't Die - 1962
Were the voice samples all from the same ? film??
Steve’s samples come from a B movie, mine came from news at ten!
So gutted that I missed this. Had tickets and accommodation arranged, then came down with some bloody virus...Is there more?
So sorry to hear this. Yes there will be more though
Heavyweight biz
Nice to see Steve sporting a brace of Korg SQ-1's 😎
Or are they the beefier ones 🤔
Gaz, you and Steve desperately need to do a livestream, pretty please.
Check out Davie Knobs
INDEED
Why isn't the audience dancing?
@The Penguin kr, maybe if people are sitting down I can slightly excuse it, but everyone is stood up and Gaz is dancing on stage. It must have taken some real self control not to join in.
Why is everyone standing around like scare crows
They were shocked!
I'd like to see which parts Steve was contributing.
Fuck , this is tight ! Love it ! -----------big -------------------------------------------------------------------kadooh !
