Whisky.com reviews the Highland Park Viking Heart 15 years. The 15-year-old from the Orkney Distillery Highland Park is nicknamed 'Viking Heart'. Gordon Motion, the master whiskey maker at the traditional distillery, chose single malts from three types of barrel: Sherry barrels made from European and American oak for dry, spicy and sweet aromas. In addition, there were again filled barrels, which let the character of the malt with fruits and heather peat shine through.

Wonderful bottle, very impressive presentation, and I'm impressed that this will be readily available malt.
Horst just made me a fan for life by using the correct term "percentage point"
My two favorite whiskey guys in the whole world! Wonderful to watch every time👏 And mouth watering🤗
I just bought mine today in New Jersey. It's the last one in my region. Can't wait to try it after I enjoy seeing it in my collection fir a while.
I just enjoy when you both are together. Love the bond!!! Enjoy the review 🙏
I just bought a bottle (not cheap). I like it a lot. 15 years seems to be the sweet spot in scotch aging. Glendronach 15 is still my favorite readily available scotch, but this one is almost as good, and different enough for me to keep both in my shelf.
Great job guys
4:49 - looking at how synchronously Horst and Ben do the chewing motion with the whisky in their mouths, I'd like to propose a toast: let all of us have the same rapport with our fathers and/or sons that Horst and Ben have. Skäl!
No the white bottles have disappeared and replaced by the traditional glass bottle in my area
Ben is going for the Viking beard look, for the review.
It is common to not glaze the contact points of ceramics because they would glue themselves to the kiln
In the kiln they often use support pins that mean no contact from the glaze will be made with the kiln shelf. Most ceramic artists won't glaze the bottom at all so they won't have to use those supports, also, if the bottom is glazed there is a chance the glaze will drip onto the kiln shelf, which is a real B to scrape back. Horst said they grind the bottom of the bottle for this 15 year old, could be, we'd have to see one in person.
@@tjross1313 I am curious to see it
Cheers
Senior Master Taster Horst and Ben, You two look too comfortable in those chairs.
Try Oaksmith if you can find. It's Japanese whisky specially designed for India
Also try Black dog. It's scotch designed for India only.
Mennn, i love this one.
I am worried that Horst is getting older . You turn things palpable. Love from India.
Nice review as always. Some sound issues on Bens mic?
I bought it in Canada, 139.99 plus tx. Came to about 156 CAD.
For me the smoke was jumping out of the glass for a highland park. Normally I find they have faint smoke in them, this was much more present then the core range.
First tasting, smoke on the Pallet was less than the nose. Sherry popped with dried fruits but did have citrus in there. Honey and oak on the finish. Not as spicy as I hoped.
Over all its light short finish and a slight step up from the 12 year old. However it's not worth the 90 dollars more. It's a nice dram still, but disappointing release to be honest.
Where I am from they are asking $180 CAD! The idiots charging that can keep it for that price. Cheers!
Here in AB; $169plus gst
€100 for a 15, time to stock up the 18 :)

Saving the earth from running out of sand. Meanwhile it takes the same amount of sand and energy to make ceramic, and good luck finding a ceramic recycler. Highland park goes DFL.
15 yrs that’s a weird age statement
Well, there's Dalwhinnie 15 as a part of a Classic Malts, and in this days it's not that unusual.
Glenfiddich, Dalwhinnie, Bowmore, Springbank and Glenfarclas have had a 15 year old in their core range for ages, and now Glen Scotia have one too, so why weird?
Highland Park literally had a 15 year old in their core lineup just a decade ago
Okay Mr z
Looney Tooney Fellas
Typical way over priced Highland Park. Why is the sound so poor on the video?
