I just want to say THANK YOU for posting this whole game. I've been waiting FOREVER for someone to put it up. You are a kind soul and you gave me so much enjoyment just now. Thank you!
1:42:34 Was one of my favorite moments of that Super Bowl run, then of course we rocked the entire stadium with the "WE WANT DALLAS" Chant. Those were great days
This playoff game where Riggins walked out to the 35 yard line and took a stage bow, making the place go nuts. Then the chant began, “We want Dallas, We want Dallas!!”, rocking the entire stadium. Washington will never have a home like RFK again. It was old and dirty, falling apart with not enough concessions and luxury boxes, but it was home for the team and very, very loud. RFK was built nearly straight up, rather than bowled out like larger stadiums. That is why it was so loud, because the crowd was straight over the field nearly. I can remember my dad taking me to home games when my uncle had to cancel and climbing up those top tier stairs was like climbing up the stairs of a Mayan Pyramid. Very, very steep. Each step was tall and not very deep, not enough to get your entire foot on, except sideways and that was for a 11 year old kid. Riggins was unstoppable that day and Minnesota had no answer for him, especially by the last quarter. It was the same against Dallas the next week. Riggins and the Hogs just punished Randy White and the Dallas D-line.
Riggins..holy cow! Fortunately for me a huge skins fan back in the day so got to see it as it happened! Couple hits on Kramer that I thought would kill a QB today! This was football! Thank you so much for posting it!!😉😉😉
27:27 Dave Butz takes on triple team and gives up very little ground even with the first 2 guys getting under him for leverage. Not often a guy that tall can play inside like that.
I remember believing Alvin Garrett was an all time great, a long with Charlie Brown after this season. Turns out the all time great was injured.. Art Monk.
I forgot WTVD 11 in Durham was a CBS affiliate back in day and WNCT 9 in Greenville was the other in the 80s those was the days when I was kid in Wilson, NC!!!!!!!
The counter gap play for the skins was like the old gag where you point at a spot on your buddies shirt and when he looks down you smack him in the chin. Then do it again five min. Later and he acts like he has never seen that trick before! Hey diddle diddle Riggins up the middle!
24:44 exact same play that Made Riggins a legend in the Super Bowl that year except it was to the opposing side. Same flutter motion from Didier. So glad Riggins bounced it out against the Dolphins in the Super Bowl
Even though the redskins won, the Vikings played a good game. I was nervous because if the Vikings made it 21-14, they would onside kick and recover it, and score again. Thank you for putting this up, I love the redskins.
Really? You must be clairvoyant to be able to make such a prediction. How about there would've been a chance for Minnesota to recover the onside kick and a possibility they may have scored IF they had recovered the onside kick?
also for his day or any since including now quiet as kept Monte Coleman was a phreak...who was under utilized in richie pettibones 4-3 scheme but he could have gone down in the history books as a all- time great. & im no redskin fan lol

@@blueconversechucks I had no idea Stenerud played for the vikings but I am sure its true considering the nature of kickers. The next season though Stenerud was on the Packers. I am going to look that up.
The Vikings didn't have a super bowl worthy roster for this game. But man... I've never seen so many dropped passes in an NFL game. Particularly a playoff game.
you have or can you get the playoff game against the lions of this year 1982 and can you get some sound to this game and to that game against the lions.
Dave Butz should be in the Hall of Fame.

The NFC CHAMPIONSHIP is the one I want to see...
@@ralstonmathews3543 It's here on YT. Just watched it. 11/27/2020. Great picture quality and audio.
@@muffs55mercury61 1987 against the Vikings...this isn't a NFC CHAMPIONSHIP game they beat Dallas this year in '82

An Eagle fan we feel same about Cowgirls
Well they got Dallas---& sent them packing three hours later 34-17. The Cowboys coughed up a fumble and two interceptions and one was a pick-six.
@@muffs55mercury61 31-17. i remember watching that game.
Yeah. We loved you guys too! But this was a great playoff run and won the way the game’s supposed to be played.

Early 80s Redskins played football the way it was meant to be played. And then some.
I agree 💯 the hole football thing was really good in my opinion

once upon a time... on a field far far way....there was a giant running back and a play called...50 GUT.
Thank you so much for this I went to this gm with my uncle
If you can ever find and post up the 1987 Redskins Bears Playoff game, I would be forever indebted. Cheers mate!

I was just saying that was on my mind when I was seeing this game as the redskins were up 21-7. Too much typing.
The Vikings comment against the Hogs and then the Redskins just ran it over and over on them.
Bud Grant's last playoffs appearance

The game wasn't as one-sided as I remembered. I forgot Viking receivers had major dropsies
Yes the 82 Redskins were beatable. Won many close games that could have went either way but they were the best team in football.
Vikings first completion came on the last play of the first qtr
I wanted to see more of that MD vs NC basketball game at the end...
Seeing all these players I grew up watching doesn't seem that long ago
This was a big game for the Redskins. A great warm up for the NFC Championship.

Amazing
RFK 80's Football the sweetest
Love those vikings uniforms.

How about the 87 NFC championship game between these 2?Do you have it?

Jack Buck and Hank Stram

Two Fred Deans in the NFL in 1982?
Could have been a different games if Vikings receivers wouldn't drop 1/2 of Kramer's passes. Geez
Could Theisman’s jersey fit any looser? He must have tucked it down to his knees
The hogs were like bulldozers on both sides of the ball.
Kramer deep and deep and deep again. Desperate game planning, it seemed.
