Crossing the streams a bit, but the more I think about it, the more I realize that Goro is just the MK version of mid 90s Sid. Awesome theme music. Big man power moves. Limited mobility with maximum hotdogging. You could say...he has twice the arms you have. And he has half the brain that you do.
"It's hard to give out while you are marking out" is probably the best quote from any OSW. Great stuff as always, can't wait for the next MK film review
Even as a child I always thought the Johnny Cage autographed photo belonged to Scorpion and it was just a film joke, like “isn’t it funny that this demon is Johnny Cage’s #1 fan?”
Cage gives someone an autographed photo at the start of the film, I always thought that bit was them going "Yeah that guy Cage stupidly gave the photo to earlier? It was Scorpion all along!" I watched this movie for the first time a few years back with some friends, and that was THE moment of the film. Such a fun little punchline.
This is beyond fantastic. The amount of nostalgia in this is so overwhelming I adore it. Being the big Mortal Kombat fan that I am, this is absolute perfection. I love all the massive attention to detail to the research, trivia and commentary. The jokes in this are god tier. This is class. You have outdone yourself Jay.

I first saw this from the GamesMaster show (which is coming back this year), but the first time I played it was on the arcade at Flamingo Land. Never got to beat it, but we watched someone played through the entire game as Sub Zero, that's always been stuck in my mind seeing that ending.
My friends and I saw the first MK at the drive-in theater. It was a blast! Except for the mosquitos, but the concession stand nachos always made up for it.
Excellent review lads, 10/10 Bret Hart gives 5/10 says the matches could have been more technical, more story. I give the movie 8/10, 10/10 soundtrack Great nostalgia, great mindless fighting sequences.

Lovely video as always boys. Concerning the arcade scene, goodness such a difference from the early 90's compared to now. A few hours from me there's a Round One arcade. Seeing the all seated fighting game cabinets, driving games, etc damn near brought me to tears. Had so much fun that day.
Just watched the 2021 reboot/remake/re-whatever movie, and I have to say, this one is still better. Yeah, it's cheesy, and the CGI doesn't hold up AT ALL, but it's still a fun ride that doesn't overcomplicate things, and it's just a crowd-pleaser. I remember going to see this in the theater as a kid, and my mom taking me and my brother, and she actually had a great time with it, much to my surprise. She's still one of the harshest movie critics I've ever met, and she thought it was a really fun popcorn flick, which to me at least shows what kind of mainstream appeal it has.
By the way kudos to you guys this is one of the best episodes you've ever done. You are everything that is pro wrestling super Nintendo and Sega Genesis

I love that Trevor Goddard had a sh!t cockney accent, because his performance is what characterized Kano. Which is hilarious, because you have all these other actors trying to emulate this guy, who's entire performance was a botch

Man, I used to take martial art lessons at a gym in Chicago. The guy who did the mocap for Lui Kang ended up dating the mocap actor for Kitana. He was also in the Raphael suit in the live action TMNT movies.
Fun fact: the henchmen in the red head wraps were originally meant to be tarkatans (Baraka and co), but they didn’t have it in the budget to make 100 of those costumes.

For me, Cary being 'immortalized' as the face and voice of Shang Tsung in the game was just amazing. He definitely deserved it.
