I have viewed this vid many, many times now. I have also just made and almost finished 10 of them for the holidays as gifts. This vid is easy to understand and lots of great information and tips. TY! TY! Awesome teaching and sharing!
I’ve been looking for you for days! LOL Finally a straightforward description in measurements! I have a template but no measurements for cutting so this was perfect!!! I’ve made the round version YEARS ago and misplaced instructions. I’m going square now. Love your voice and your presentation. All around excellent. Thank you!
I thought this design would be so difficult without a pattern or a template to follow. However, with your excellent instructions, this will be easy to create. Now, I'm ready to dash off to get the insulated batting (whatever did we do before?) and search through my stash for the best pieces to match up. Thank you for showing how to do the measurements to make our own grid. I'm also rather fond of the way you showed how to make the perfect corner--something I've struggled with for longer than I wish to admit. Everything from start to finish is so clear.
I'm making another batch of masks as we have various health issues, and I was watching this video this morning as I cut new filters and fabrics. I decided to give this a go - my grandmother was great at things like this, but didn't get the chance to pass this particular craft on to me - and I'm almost done! All I have left to do now is make some bias tape and then I'll have a star trivet of my own. Thanks so much for this lovely tutorial - I've been following it all afternoon and i'm very excited to have my first piece nearly done.
Love your quick technique tips. How lovely and you don't need to spend any extra money or take the time to go and buy cheat sheets. Thanks again for a wonderful tutorial Debbie.
I've watched other people present this, and they make it seem so difficult to get it right. Your demonstration is the best I've seen. Thanks for posting this, including the measurements. I'm going to try it again under your tutelage and am sure it will turn out better and easier than any former attempts I've made. THANK YOU!!!
Update! I made several of these! I absolutely love picking out the colours and seeing the end result! I gifted all of the ones I've made so far and my family thinks I should make some for the craft fair. Thanks once again. God bless.
Thank you very much for sharing this absolutely cute project. Love the blue tone fabric. When I first saw this, I thought it would be complicated & difficult. Your instructions, tips etc are very helpful . Thank you again. Looking forward for more exciting projects.
Wonderful tutorial, I had just finished the Tilda box and thanks to your instructions I got my mitred corners perfect for the first time. Thanks Debbie
These are so gorgeous Debbie. I wondered if i could make mine bigger for my coffee table but not sure how to adjust the fabric sizes? Thank you for sharing this lovely idea. Could listen to you all day, so calming. 💖
Merry Christmas and I hope you have a wonderful new year! I just got the chance to sit down, hand sewing and binge watching your channel. It has been a difficult year for sure.
What a wonderful design. Am definitely incorporating that design on a cushion cover. Its so clever Debbie!! Thank you so much. 👍 Am just finishing a Dresden plate EPP, then that will be my next project. Cheers.
Ha would you look at that, tomorrow I shall be starting on sewing a table runner been pulling my Christmas fabric scraps together for it and I wanted something cool to sit in the middle and this was recommended to me after watching a Sew Very Easy table runner tutorial and this cute trivet would be perfect to sit in the middle of it. This was so easy to understand and it made perfect sense, so easy and you wouldn't know it to look at it. Lovely :)
I really enjoyed making my first trivet! Great instructions and interesting how using different accent fabrics can really change the look of it (I made a Christmas fabric trivet!) 🎄🪡👍
I’ve always wanted to try the folded stars pattern, but the tutorials were a bit confusing for me. Thank you for your tutorial can’t wait to try this now.😊⭐️⭐️
Greetings Debbie from BC, Canada! I have always wanted to make these and thought it was very time consuming. I need to make something for our new neighbours and this would be so wonderful to welcome them to the neighbourhood, with some Christmas baking. Thank you, Merry Christmas! 🎄😍
Hi Debbie Fantastic tutorial Love it I'm new at quilting just made my first one in squares however I would love to make this star as a centre around squares ? Could you kindly tell me how I can achieve this ? I want to make a floor mat xmany thanks
Just to clarify, in the quilting step, there are just two lines of stitching, corner to corner (like an "X")? You don't need to do two line in the other direction (like a "+")? Beautiful hot-pad - thanks for the concise directions!
Thankyou very much for sharing your experience. I have tried to follow you today by watching this video but I have the sewing threads showing after the 3rd row. What did I do wrong ?
That’s beautiful! I have a question please…. I don’t have any cotton batting but have ton of insulbrite. Does the silver side face top fabric and the cotton side face backing fabric?
Thanks Debbie, saw this on the live feed yesterday. Would like to make a couple of these for my daughter's Christmas table but I need to finish her tablecloth today, as l not sure I'll have time! Thanks for this video.
I have a 'cost of living' question 🙄 but I'm also hoping it might help others too. I always use a good quality quilting fabric around 12-15 per metre, with times being a bit tougher financially, could I use a polycotton (I'm dreadful at sewing with this!) as the random sandwich bit? I'm newish to quilting and I'm not sure how well these two fabrics will sit together?
I like the video of the star trivet. The camera needs to be in better focus. A very fuzzy view, making it difficult to see stitching when shown on camera.
Ich habe zum ersten Mal diesen Untersetzer genäht . Er ist mir Dank ihres Videos gut gelungen. Vielen Dank dafür .
I always wondered how those were made…..absolutely beautiful, thank you!

Wish you would go over that binding method a little more, it’s really different than how I do it and yours looks very interesting.
Beautiful
Tx Debbie for this tutorial. How big should the scrapfabric, lining and back be??
I just watched this video and I just thought that i could make these for placemats for christmas or parties
Can I make this bigger like for a placemat on a dinner table?

I would love to have these instructions where I can print them out. Do you offer that?
I’m afraid not…
They are in the transcript
Can not find the instructions
Debbie, hope you answer this how can I make this in a round version to use as a Christmas Decoration? T.I.A Jan.
Can this be done on a larger scale for a table centerpiece?
No reason why not!
I made a very large table mat with the last point being 7inches. Now I don’t know how big to cut my corner pieces
