I lost my mom 4 years ago. I have just recently started sewing and dabbling in quilting. She made these in the early 80's. I was to busy being a teenager to pay attention. I dreamed about these last night and called my dad trying to remember what they were called. He and my bother tracked one of her creations down and that led me to your channel and this tutorial. Thank you so so much. Means more to me than I can put into words.

I have watched you sew quite a lot and I have heard you say many times I don't have an iron. Man how can you sew and do the beautiful crafts you do without an iron.. You can get an iron at a second hand store and you would never go back to working without one. It helps make things with a neat look and it makes it so easy. Fo yourself a favor and get you one.....YOU'LL LOVE IT.

I learned to do this 40 years ago by folding squares in half, sewing them onto my foundation, and then folding the ends in as a triangle. So much easier than your quilting lines! Your finishing tips are great, though. Thanks for the video and reminding me of a great old pattern!

Thank you for this video. I used to make Amish star wallhangings that were put in a large wooden hoop. I remember exactly how they were made marking a lining like this at 3/4" intervals. I was recently searching for a how-to video on making hotpads and they all came up with you having to buy this and having to buy that. I used to make them with a pencil and a matchbook cover that had a 3/4" mark on it. Your video is just what I was looking for. Thank you for not leading me to a website and trying to sell me $20 worth of things that aren't necessary to make a hot pad.

I am so happy I read this review. I never knew what the show more or show less meant! I'd play & replay to write down all he was saying. So blonde moment for me. I Love it. He explained so well. And most of all he continued working while he was talking. Too many people stop what they're doing & start using hand gestures while talking. Extends length of video average 3-5 minutes.
Loved this. Can't wait to try it. Going to start with my holiday fabric👍

I watched you video again more closely and you explained that you quilt from one side to the other in a straight line. I'm halfway through about three of these for Christmas presents and I'm really enjoying it. I worked on these at a relaxed quilt retreat (where everyone works on their own project) and everyone loved them. When asked how to make them II sent them all to your video. Thanks again!
