- Based on a small box by Tilda Studios from the Tilda's Seasonal Ideas Collection book. This is a slightly larger version, very handy to store sewing notions or beauty products in!
Finished size:
6" x 6" x 5" [15cm x 15cm x 12.5cm]
Fabrics from: www.debbieshore...
Materials:
26" x 9" [65cm x 22cm] firm interfacing [Decovil]
26" x 13" [65cm x 33cm] fabric for the lining
26" x 8" [65cm x 20cm] fabric for the base
Thank you Debbie. I made a smaller version out of scraps. Next time (and there will be a next time) I will make the base and the lining fabric 1" wider than the interfacing so I have a 1/2" seam allowance. It is a really cute useful project. I'm retired and I'm just getting back into sewing and I love your tutorials❤
Wow, this is the best tutorial I've seen yet. Thank you Debbie Shore, I love all your videos
Thank you for sharing. Another great project with wonderful directions.
When you were sewing, I was saying…. No, you’ve sewn it all up! 😂
Glad I’m not the only one! I’m going to try and make a nesting set for a baby shower gift. These are so lovely for nurseries. ❤
Lovely bag and beautiful fabric. You are such an inspiration. Thank you
This is a lovely box, I'm going to be making a few in different sizes for storing my patterns in
Love that you sewed the turning gap up, just shows you are human, I have done the same lots of times😂 Brilliant video again, thank you
Thank you, Debbie! Another little gem and so much easier to see it being made :)
Your videos are great, very easy and clear to understand, your a joy to listen to
Every time I make one of your projects they come out brilliantly, thank you Debbie
You could use them in the kitchen for fresh buns out of the oven, cookies, etc.
Wow how gorgeous is this box, thankyou Debbie for your fabulous tutorials and showing us how easy all these darling sewn goodies are to do xxx 💜💜💜
I absolutely love this! Inspired to make one today as it’s miserable weather outside! Thank you so much for your brilliant instructions . Fran ❤
Cute box! TY Debbie Shore for showing how easy it comes together. I think a few in my sewing room would be very useful...maybe just a tad bigger. Have a good afternoon!
I love the way you explain what you're doing and why. I also like how you show your mistakes and how to correct them! I really appreciate that! I am relatively new at sewing and your explanations are extremely helpful!
Please keep it up!💗
This is just what I've been looking for--thank you vey much!! Your tutorials are always a treat.
How lovely. Thank you, Debbie ❤
Fantastic ! I need these! Thank you Debbie.
Thank you for another great make.
Loved this! The heavy decovil was quite challenging to turn but beautiful outcome. Think I’ll try the small one (bought the book) using decovil light or foam. Thank you. ❤
Fabulous!
I haven’t tried it yet, but I think that sewing the Decovil-or foam interfacing-along the fold lines for the bottom and sides before adhering it to the fabric would create natural fold lines and help to create crisp corners and bottom edge to the box.
You could seam the lining fabric-or with an accent fabric to compensate for directional fabric. I’d love to do this to add a cork or faux leather trim. A cord or faux leather tab folded over the top would be a nice touch.
Thanks and stay well!

I like this one, it is different, but pretty. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you. Loved your teaching method. I am subscribing and looking forward to viewing your other videos.
Great tutorial, going to make some and fill with sweets for the dementia group Christmas party raffle. I love your dress x
Love the box! And yes, I frequently forget to leave a turning hole. 🤣😂🤣😂
Love this fabric box. So glad you showed us how to make it bigger. When you crease the corners like you showed, would it be alright to also sew only on the outer edges/corners of the box ? Or would doing that have some effect on how the box sits ? TYSM for sharing this video and the pattern with us. Love your channel. 😻❣🥰
Great tutorial thank you Debbie x
If you akready have done so, i aplogise. But could you devote a whole session on the various interfacing etc weights and how to obtain them in the uk? You ooften mention numbers and makes but i find i remain a tad foozled by the sheer variety . Thank you. Love your offerings and teaching.
I have so many issues with interfacing I have a none woven heavy interfacing but I find it wrinkles I get really frustrated with it
Looks amazing have to try this
Such a lovely basket. Thank you. You mentioned keeping bobbins in a smaller box, how do you keep your loose bobbins from unraveling?
Always a problem, anyone else have any thoughts?
@@debbieshore thanks Debbie. I always have a mess even in a bobbin keeper!
I use the Childrens very tiny hair bands I can buy a packet in Poundland, and that works well for me.
@@sazzel100 Thank you so much. Good idea
I use clear vinyl tubing (1/2 -5/8 in diameter) purchased in a hardware store. Using box knife or sharp utility scissors, cut off segments slightly narrower than bobbin width. Make a cut in the little circle and secure it around the thread on the bobbin. Works well.
That is fabulous ❤thank you
Hi Debbie
As always lovely project and easy to follow I have done one but I like to try one in a bigger size like 18in tall and 18.5 wide for a cube box for my grandkids is it possible for that size and how can do the triangle measurements and fabric measurements if you can help me with that please they look so nice hope to hear from you thank you Gloria
Hi these are fab & look so effective. Would these work at about 30cm square or is that a bit big? Also, Could you use thicker fabric? Thank you
Tolle Idee 🎉und super erklärt, vielen Dank für das Video.. Liebe Grüße Regina
Hi debbie in materials listed you have Decovil firm interfacing listed but in comments you mention you used light decovil? Could u clarify? Thanks
I love you Debbie 😍
Thank you Debbie wha would we do without your expertise. Shirley Campion
Just wondering if you could use the gap where that last long line of stitching across the lining is to turn it inside out. You would then ladder stitch that line or even machine stitch it. The lining always works out a tiny bit too big, so it would help to reduce that. I think it would be possible to turn it inside out with less crumpling of the stiffener. I’ll have a go.
Did you try this way of turning the box? I'm curious about how it worked.
What are the dimations? Do you think they would hold 2 Jelly rolls or even 3?Lined up across?
I put medicine bottles in them. The box stays on the dining room table. I went to your fabric site. Love your fabrics, but I live in the USA and I'm nervous about ordering from Great Britain.
I am intrigued by the interfacing you used, Decovil, and want to try it in my next project. Do you use the Decovil light or heavy? Thank you for such inspiring videos!
This was light, glad you liked it!
Great job sherrypell
Holaaaaaa, buenísimo todo, podrás poner subtitulos en español, gracias
Is this washable?
You forgot the turning gap
Do you have another book out?
Not at the moment
@@debbieshore I love your books, I may not see you Saturday because I have Slimming World and also shopping to do. I miss my dog Jack sooooo much, it's soooo quiet without him here.
I caught when you didn’t leave the gap…why can’t I catch when I do that?!
Fun projects but it seems like a huge waste of fabric!
This is just what I've been looking for--thank you vey much!! Your tutorials are always a treat.
