Brian you are the best teacher.. Because of you the last 3 years i can paint and im very happy..Im watching you always and im trying to do everything you say...Im looking forward to the next video..Best regards from Greece..
helpful series. Your channel really is building my nerve to try and paint a couple of my project cars my self. Thanks for taking the time to teach us DIYers.
Glad to hear it!
@ I’m sure you we covered it and probably get asked all the time. What gun(s) would you recommend for beginner to do base/clear paint jobs on classic car projects at home? Eastwood has a concourse kit I was thinking but I’m not familiar with all the different brands in the paint and body world.
Your home and your son are really beautiful 🥰 You are truly blessed Brian, live long and prosper my friend 🖖🇬🇧
Thank you Phil!
Nice job on the video Brian. I like the details you included. Looks to be beautiful in sunny Florida. That little 3/16 Milwaukee DA kicks butt. It is definitely on my Christmas wish list. Welcome back and enjoy your day.
It’s definitely beautiful over here in South Florida this week especially, thanks again for watching
Love this from home series and how thorough it is
You know I can relate to that last scene 😂😂😂. I could make a whole video of my bloopers 😂
It was too funny to leave out. Seriously add a few to end of each video, it will be funny to see. I know how it goes though,by the time we are done editing, thats it. Dont want to see a computer screen for another couple days. Hah
@PaintSociety Yeah, you're right about that. I might do it it's a good idea.
Also, i have to say how much i admire your weather right now, im over here freezing, it snowed a few days ago
Cool 70 degrees. Cant beat it
Thank you for making this video, block sanding is like literally ancient, secret magic. Everyone is like, "oh just DIY your bodywork, it's easy!" while ignoring the fact that the prep is not exactly something you can do without prior experience/knowledge.
How is it secret everybody knows you have to block first then refine with an orbital if you don't want waves in the paint
Milwaukee has really hooked you up with some nice tools, huh?
My issue and experience with Milwaukee tools is that their switches don't last long at all.
Thank you for your hard work and dedication to sharing your knowledge.
Love your backyard 😍 Awesome video as always!
Thanks so much! 😊
Great video and explination!
Thank you brain from Zimbabwe I m learning alot
Brian please do a myth buster type series of sorts. Your content is well communicated, easy to understand and very helpful. Suggestion for a first episode: does grounding a car give you a cleaner painjob - and if so, how to ground it properly 😅
Keep on keeping on...Great Series.
More to come!
Stoked to see your posts, always!! Primer confuses me, eventually ill have to figure out what's what between epoxy and urethane, which one seals from moisture, etc...
Another great video as always thank you..
Love the do it at home series! I'm gonna try the spray guide coat next time. I've been using the dry stuff and wet sanding, it seems to still stay down in the crevices but I also like the idea of it being painted on there 👍
Great idea!
Like doing this type of sanding WET,cause you can see better the imperfections..The water kinda acts like a temporary film of clear..
Excellent video Brian.......but I was hoping to see a T-bone on the grill. Honestly that was a learning experience with the different types of sandpaper and the execution of the different applicators. Thank you very much for the time and money you put into this video.
Next time!!! I will bring it back. Promise !
Thank you
Guys were looking forward to that Milwaukee M12 sander. looks like it's just the ticket for the backyard.
Look into car rep! They have 2k cans that are unlimited pot life, it’s revolutionary
Hey Brian, you ever tried hooking the water hose into the air connector on that 3M sanding pad to create a dedicated wet block? Be interested to know how'd that go or if you've tried it before?
And thanks for imparting your knowledge...us Aussies appreciate it down under.
Happy New Year mate...
Gooooood video
Great video. Any videos already made on how to repaint over factory paint? Getting a new bed for my truck, and it needs color matched and was wondering how that process looks. Thanks
Hi Brian, Great series! Like you mentioned in the video those 2K cans of primer are expensive. I wish manufactures would come out with a 7oz mini can of 2K at 1/2 the price or just a bit more to help out the DIY. Just a thought.
Yeah they are! I wish they would do that too, that would be awesome!
Is episode 4 out yet can't find if it is, thanks
I find dry sanding is more convenient but if you are sanding primer in a small home garage, wet sanding saves a lot of primer dust also covering your wife’s stuff!
Thats true!!!
Você deixa o primer 2k secar uma semana ???? Pra pintura prata você refina até 800 quando não usa sealer ???
Hey Brian, on cars that have Rocker panel coating from the factory, does that need to be taken down to bare metal to reapply?
I have everything to reapply the rocker panel portion (my car has about the bottom 1/3rd of the side of the car coated with it, I'm just not sure If I can just sand that all down flat to match the level of the paint and then reapply or should I take it down to bare metal and then apply it. Thanks ahead of time for the help.
I'm looking at getting on this this spring.
What the name of the sand paper are you using for m3?
Thanks for these videos. Any chance you’ll be doing anything to the underside of the hood where the structure and stuff is? I’m sort of lost on how or where to start the underside of my hood. I know what needs to be done, just looking for a template
I'm interested in this as well as it's harder to sand and prime all the rust in those areas on the inside
When you had burn through of metal you put primer over it without using etch? Is the primer from a can ok to use direct on metal? When you say sealant i thought epoxy primer was the sealant. There's a sealant that goes over the primer before base as well? Thanks B
No burn thru to metal. That was burn thru to epoxy under but yes etch first if you do
Главное соблюдать шаг 100, и будет вам счастье
Can you kindly please give me a list of sand paper you using for sanding primer please.
Check the description
Thanks for the tips! Regular watcher subscribed to you channel. I have learned a lot from you Brian and am applying it to my restoration project.
Glad to help! These series is very detailed and will help alot
Why cant you use a 1K primer instead of a 2K?
I talked about this in the video briefly but basically one K products are lacquer, and they will not hold down the repair, you will see peeling and premature delamin of the paint as well as wrinkling
@@PaintSocietyare those problems inevitable if using 1k primer for burnthrough, or is it just a case of correct application (or rather, longer waiting period for all solvent to evaporate completely)?
If its a burnthrough to epoxy, can't you really just paint straight over it? The few epoxy primers (for example, Deltron DP40) I've worked with list them as non-sanding but usable for top-coating over. If re-coat period has passed they usually just list "scuffing up" and then topcoat.
What about situation where its a burnthrough to "older" layer that you've deemed to be "OK" as a "base layer" for whatever bodywork you're doing?
Thanks!
I want to know how much of your grass is dead from overspray🤣
None 🤗
Keep your socks dry or you'll wind up with trenchfoot.
Youll see sandals on the second half of the video lol
Nobody need's to use Guide coat EVER! You only need to wet sand Primer until smooth. Very simple! Paint Society is just making money off you guy's Simple!
Don't be jelous bro
Guide coat saves time. Simple
Lol
How idiotic. Guide coat helps find low spots if any so you know if you need more body work
