Hey Brian. I have a question that sounds silly but want to make sure. So I know the air connections use teflon tape but what about the pps adapters. Do you use teflon tape on those threads
This is exactly why you the goat cause you relate to the people that do the same thing. Keep doing what you’re doing, man I’ve been watching you for years. Keep doing it!
Exactly 💯 this is exactly like the stuff I do or I'm boutta try to do. I needa get out there and actually do it when it gets a little warmer this spring. I think I might have watched enough videos by now but can't ever soak in enough knowledge I'll take all that I can get.
I've been overthinking this paint for too long. I've had my materials for awhile now I'm getting worried it's going to be trash by the time I use it lol. Hopefully not though. I got about 1000 sitting in paint.
Brian, It was really fun Meeting you at SEMA. Thanks for being so gracious with your time. To all the viewers watching, Brian is exactly the guy you see here, very humble and approachable. A great educator that is making a difference.
I thoroughly did enjoy meeting you as well and finally being able to connect with my subscribers in person, it means a lot to me as much as it means to you!
Great info as always. Some of the steps you do, I realize I need too adopt. Thanks for your time and money you spend to bring these excellent videos to us who desperately need all the help we can find!🤪
Thank you for all the information you share, thirty year hobby body and paint guy here. I tell people there's always something to learn, you taught me the new paint remover, at least Kleen Strip Aircraft Ultra Paint Remover, works amazing, it took it from multiple paint jobs to raw metal in one application. If it weren't for your advice, which I trust immensely, I wouldn't have tried it. I'd still be making a dusty mess of my shop with the surface conditioning tool and a DA.
Steak, a beautiful channel front property, a great little helper, and the skills to pay the bills. You got it made Brian. Thanks for the tip on the Prep All, I use Klean Strip products but haven’t used that yet.
Hi Brian, I've been loving your episodes lately. This one was great as well as the day in the life of Brian episode where you showed us how your weekend work day happens from start to finish. Keep the different content up ❤
@PaintSociety yeah i think anyone with your talent and experience can just make videos painting panels and reviewing products, but i think what makes your channel so interesting and successful is you can do things in a way that everyone can relate to no matter your experience and i feal like we get to know you alittle bit as a person as well. Anyway, mate, just my observation from a aussie car guy, lol. Kind regards, John.
Just what I needed! The roof on my truck is a rusty crusty mess, believe you did a video on a Suburban roof quite a while ago but I'm definitely tuning in for this at home series!
This is video i been needing to watch lol. Layers and layers of what i think is rust oleum oil based spray paint. I've been sanding all year it seem and just now getting to the oem base coat. I think aircraft paint remover might be my best bet 😂 i just gotta be ready to seal that bare metal immediately after.
Great informative video. Curious, how do you prep and tape a hood or trunk lid on both sides if you can’t hang it up. Main concern is the edges and the overspray when you paint each side.
Keep up the great content. I live in Southern California and it sucks that I can't get that exact paint stripper shipped here using your link. Soon plastic grocery bags with be obsolete here too. Brian thanks for showing us guys the tips and tricks.
I love the idea that you are showcasing cheaper alternatives when it comes to tool sets and products, i also wholeheartedly believe you are amongst the greatest and trusted teachers when it come to automotive painting. I just have concerns from you teaming up with temu specifically. Although you can get some weirldy decent stuff, I think giving Temu a platform is potentially putting your viewers in danger from purchasing products that dont have any standards of safety and a butt load of scammers as a majoroty of their website is a scam. I dont like the idea of basing creators for any reason and i hope im not coming across like im doing that to you, im just sharing my concern as someone that respects your content, they way you hold yourself and teach others and you as a person.
Hi I have a question, can I apply a clear coat to a car that I painted 3 months ago? I never apply the clear coat as it is my old car but I see that clear coat is needed. Should It be sanded? Thanks
"These steaks taste like paint!" Denace the Menace 😂. That's a nice looking steak man. I bet it was great. I cook for a living and you know what you're doing. You're right though cooking channels do good too. I've thought about starting one myself then I could quit working for the middleman an paint and work on more old Honda's lol.
I live near GM oshawa and know a few old guys who worked the end of the line fixing defects and damage. There are definitely factory cars with bondo. Also, while i was at college inwatched literally thousands of 2010 camaros being driven on salty roads to the paint shop in whitby for racing stripes lol. Its wild what they do to your brand new car
I love your videos. Gives me the extra knowledge i need to do my jobs. Ill give you some of my experience, sharpen that knife bro. Knives need to be sharp, sharp to do work too.
Nice video Brian. I have the surfacer tool(drum sander) I does a good job you do need to move around to keep the heat down. The thing I like about it is it leaves a good scratch for the epoxy primer. When using the drum sander you also don’t have t be concerned as much about getting all the chemical stripper off. I would like to try the new stripper though! I have a question for you what set up would you recommend for flat clear with the DV1 ? My temperature will be on the cooler side say 65-70 F. Thanks !
Nice timing when your vid popped up. Iam repairing a dented Mercedes 560SEC hood (aluminium skin) that was dented in the front on one side (came off my parts coupe). I have worked the dent with my panel tools and today been applying skim filler (bondo) to get it sorted, then i have to move onto prepping the whole panel for painting. Current paint (silver) is in really good condition, but it will be painted 040 black (base & clear) in my garage using decent guns ( i have a range of decent sprayguns & good spray setup). Assume i can sand it back with 600 dry to scuff it up ready for base ( the repair section wil be primed). What would you suggest?
It's nice to see you guys comments on each other's video. I subscribed to both of your channels because you're the best at what you do. I'm learning a lot and enjoys all your videos. Keep it up. Many thanks!
So crazy, I may have to consider that aircraft stripper again, I tried it last project and it only worked on areas that had been beaten down by the sun like the roof, other areas that still had failing clear for example it only slightly bubbled the clear and actually made it more challenging to remove..
I need some advice. I have seen Brian on paint society use a rattle can of Etching primer before adding primer filler or sealer primer but what about afterwards? I accidentally went to bare metal on my final sanding just before Basecoat. A small straight line almost like a paper cut going to metal. Can I still use a rattle can of Etching primer and a rattle can of sanding primer over Urethane Primer? It would be a no brainer if I wasn't out of Urethane Primer but I am an Etching Primer on hand
Another awesome vid. Just where I am with a new resprayed classic with paint cracks and bubbles all over trying to work out what to do to fix it. Checked out the paint stripper you used which in the UK isn't for sale and other equivalents you need a H&S certificate before you can buy. So looks like the sanding option for me... My wife thinks she has lost me to paint porn
Hello to all experienced painters. As a beginner i have a question. If its above freezing, say 40 to 50 degrees in my non heated garage can i still paint my car , it will just take longer to dry? Can i add something to the paint to help it dry faster?
You forgot to mention with paint stripper you need to neutralize it after scraping it off because the chemicals are still active within the metal . you can get cheaper paint strippers but i dont recommend doing this method its easier and faster to use a sander with 60 or 80 grit then use a grinder to remove the rust.
I will tell you as a user of airplane stripper, for many yrs, this stuff has been very deluded, in the last 5 yrs, it done good on your hood cause there was no paint on it, this stuff used to roll at least 5 layers of paint off like it was nothing, it want do it now, but it is still the best one out there, even tho they have took most of its strength from it, I used to strip whole cars with this stuff, but the EPA has killed bout everything, oh yeah an I never covered it with plastic either
YEAH WHEN IT COMES TO PAINTING YOU SURE COULD PAINT CICRLES OVER ME BUT AS A COOK THAT I AM WHEN IT COMES TO COOKING YOU AGAINST ME IT WOULD BE LIKE ME TYING MY SHOES AGAINST YOU NOT EVEN CLOSE BUT OK WELL DONE ON THE COOKING FOR WHAT IT WAS KEEP IT UP THANKS FOR THE TIPS

So awesome that your little helper there is so interested in what you are doing. Great video and keep up the wonderful content.
Thank you noticing. Its been a big deal for me. I dont even edit him out anymore. It gives it a more diy vibe

Ty for that! Wife said I couldnt go into work this weekend so I brought work home lol
@ absolutely
I used this reconditioning tool on my whole car, well the Bauer one but it worked great and turned out amazing!!!!

You explain things as good as you paint, i learn a lot from you good bless you amigo
Thank you so much 😀
Good video man clear and concise, oddly satisfying how it scrapes off with the paint stripper
Cant beat it !
thanks to this channel ..did my car trunk from stripping paint to painting for the first time and it turns out not bad at all!
Great informative video. Curious, how do you prep and tape a hood or trunk lid on both sides if you can’t hang it up. Main concern is the edges and the overspray when you paint each side.
spray the back and then just back mask the underside after it dries, it wont be a problem
This will be a great series. Doing this soon to a Willys jeep painted 44 years ago.
I think putting myself back into to do it. Yourself perspective at home is gonna be much more relatable.
Been dragging my feet on sanding down my MG project - my jaw is on the ground with the new aircraft stripper. I’m out of excuses!
Really great video for DIY!
Glad you liked it!

Haven't seen a plastic grocery bag in years here in Canada lol. We just outlawed brake cleaner ffs
Harbor freight for the Bauer version of the surface conditioner is good

It’s all in the settings of the gun honestly not so much to clear coat but we have great success with sikkens

start with 400 to get it smooth, finish with 600 and 800
Steak looks delicious and I am starving, thanks 😅😅😅
Ha! I was hoping you would watch that part, challenge accepted?

Temu link for the steak?
Aldi $15! Lol
Install a pvc pipe frame inside to keep it from collapsing if the power goes out
@paintsociety I love this info you share, but I live in CA. I don’t have access to Ultra, any other recommendations that I may get here in CA?
Right now there is nothing like it. Man i feel for you. I would just go for the dewalt sander i use in my other videos. It works well
So crazy, I may have to consider that aircraft stripper again, I tried it last project and it only worked on areas that had been beaten down by the sun like the roof, other areas that still had failing clear for example it only slightly bubbled the clear and actually made it more challenging to remove..
Maybe you didn’t use the ultra version?
Definitely not, could be worth a try
Great video !!! The orbital sander was discontinued And what kind of paint gun do you recommend for a beginner painter ?? Ty
It will say that if youre outside of the US or not using the app but you can get a similar knock off one
Just spot etch it and lightly scuff with 800 n paint
That fast etch showed pictures of brake rotors can it be used on rusty brakes that have seized up from sitting?
Hmmm. Maybw. Give it a try!
should we remove old paint or can we just paint on old one?
I like that turbine setup
It is a great setup!

What's the name of the electric sander, please😊
Electric sander. Its in the link
Hey so What's the difference between the precision 5 and 6 that you noticed ? Do you think it can spray something like polyester primer?
any link for that mask? i assume its a 3m or similar
Just added it. Check the description
Lol. The sander "has been discontinued"
You will get that message if you are outside of the US or not using app
@PaintSociety i was using app :(
If you ever invite me to a bbq Brian, something tells me you're going to make me do bodywork for my dinner!😆
Yes lol. Thats the plan!!

This is ultra. It works just like the old stuff.
That’s good I’ve not used it in awhile, I guess they’ve decided to strengthen it back up some, probably wasn’t selling
That steak was 99% perfect. ( Paint and body work can go also (wink-wink 🙂 )
Thats a cheap top sirloin from aldi. Only like $14
Can I send a pic of a hood thats rusted and bubbling. Just point me in the right direction.
Yes
