Betaflights GPS rescue isn’t bad at all. Most people have issues with incorrect failsafe settings on their transmitter or other issues with settings. Once setup properly and tested I haven’t had any issues with it. I trigger GPS rescue and it just works every time. If you have crossfire you need to set failsafe to cut for it to work properly.
Do you think the deadcat frame on the dji could've made the flying experience less enjoyable then the analog? I want an analog with the deadcat frame but I'm not sure if the frame could make a difference with the flying characteristics
It's good to see you got the analog version also. Kinda tired of only seeing the dji stuff. Pretty sure there is still more people running analog. It's way cheaper

But it's extremely limiting. BUT, the analog vs DJI latency is still not comparable. They both serve their purpose.

I bought the digital Evoque as soon as it came out and have hammered on it really hard (noob style!) I have to say I absolutely love it. I haven't needed to replace anything but props. It still flies awesome. Even though it's an expensive initial purchase, over the last month it has been cheaper than both my Protek 35 and QAV R2 to fly since it has been so durable.
Hi. I bought the same one just recently but I can't pair it with my goggles. Is there only limited goggles out there which can support digital signal? What goggles do you use? Its the DJI camera inside.

Yeah - I don't think current BF handles deadcat that well. I just had that experience on a 3" where it flew terrible on a deadcat frame and then great when I switched the components over to a true-X. Not sure if this was always the case as deadcat designs used to be pretty popular (and are again with the newer long range stuff).

I have been flying the iFlight Nagzul Evoque Squashed X for quite some time. I loved it but recently the front-right motor started getting very hot. I thought it might be a problem with that particular motor and therefore ordered 4 of the exact same Xing motors that came with the quad. After a long journey, they arrived today and I replaced all four motors rather than the faulty one alone, hoping to make the quad perform well. However, to my dismay, I found the same front right motor showing the same exact symptom as before. I never suspected the 4 in 1 ESC while ordering the new motors. So now I am trying to find a replacement 4in1 ESC but I could not find the exact same type that came with the quad. Because of the side plates on the Nagzul Evoque, I know I have to be cautious when ordering a replacement ESC. I have been digging but unable to find a suitable 20x20, 4in1 ESC that will fit in there. Furthermore, I have to make sure the connector fits the SucceX-E Mini F7 FC that came with my Nagzul Evoque. I would appreciate it and would be very thankful if you could point me to a suitable ESC not lower than 45A continuous current (3-6s) and also will fit into Nagzul without modification to the side plates. Your attempt in this video to show the ESC holds good is convincing but I now believe what you said about these ESCs in general. I am aware this is one of your old videos and therefore I might not get a response from you. But you being the best person to ask, I thought of asking anyway.
Joshua, the two drones have different motors, the analog one has Xing-E Pro 1800kv and the DJI one has Xing2 with unknown KV, possible 1855kv if its the same as the normal Xing2. I really hate how they have skimped out on the analog version, originally it had an F4 too... yet the price did not reflect the lower spec. But this could be why it flies differently.
I do think that the fit and finish on the Evoque is worth the extra costs. Not only does it earn an increase it's value because of the aesthetics - I think part of the fun is the way these things look both on the bench and in flight - but the added features also offer true function, The side guards can help with cleanliness and depending on where you fly that could be a real difference maker but I also liked the 3D printed parts for the GPS, the XT60 plug, etc... The pipe LED lights are super cool and again I like that as a feature both on the bench as well as in flight. And you talked about the blue loctite on the screws - to me generally speaking that is more than a nice to have, it is a easy way to avoid real troubles that can lead to serious damage and costs to replace broken or lost parts. However I will say that $300 is too much for me at this time so it is only a wish to have for me and I might imagine that this is the same for many others. What would suggest is that you should try to always have the ability to be patient meaning if you can't afford the one that you want don't get a compromise as that usually leads to disappointment and you ending up with lots of lower performing items that ended up costing a lot more than if you got the right one in the first place. This quad looks worthy of the cost because of the well done unique features that it offers combined with the fact that Joshua gave it really high remarks when he talked about how it flew. Cheers
If handling and flight experience is the same I would definetly go spending another 30bucks for the Intelligence build, led and protection of flightcontroller etc :) Thank you Joshua for a great in depth review as always. :)
Joshua, got my iFlight Evoque F5 (Digital Version) / 4S earlier this week. Agree, iFlight doing a top notch job on boxing/labeling. Got everything bound up last night and can’t wait to test myself this weekend. I’m impressed so far and haven’t even flown yet! Will be strapping my new GoPro 10 to it…wish me luck 🍀. Thanks for the review! 🤙🤙
14:50 The connector does not get ripped off.. ALL the battery leads will tho.. I have some nasty pics of my 3.3AH battery shredded after getting ejected. The main cables and 2 balance cables were still attached to the quad.. It good not worry buy drone.
Just seen the prices across the board on the Nazgul... Upwards of $500 or more for some variants. Cheapest, the F5 PNP, at $300US. I did do some shopping for some combo stacks and they are not cheap either. In most cases i can see a PNP would be somewhat cheaper then building your own. Even living in Canada, all the shipping for the individual pieces would be insane. Borderline extortion. Thank you for the video sir, I did learn something today
Did I miss something or the the Analog version is using the Xing E pro while the digital has the newer Xing 2. In all cases motors don't seem to make a difference => the difference comes from the DJI components extra weight. Thanks for the review !!
The difference is the frame design X vs DC. As well as the latency differences between the polar and analog. If the DJI had a Nebula or Vista it would probably be much better.
I'm not in the market for this (although I do have a buncha iFlight doodads) but iFlight gear has always impressed me. They seem to have little touches in their products that make it seem like they care and really actually fly this stuff.
The official website is definitely not newbie friendly. If I understand it correctly. For the F5 I only have the choice is Analog or a Caddx/Nebula that will only work with DJI? There isn't any information other than "BNF" for Analog. So I can't look up frames per second. As you're able to note 60fps for the Caddx.
Dont worry JB even though im 17 now im into drones from around 15 sooo maan i still remember uav futures 99 dollar build hell even your freestyle quad build of the chameleon ti frame sooo not yet grandpa like feels yet (stilll have to get my first drone)
I had a Nazgul Evoque F5D (DeadCat) DJI version before. It cruises well with no camera jello. It was crashed so I got an Evoque F5X (True X) DJI then. It flies better in freestyle but there is a bit of camera jello out of the box. Maybe some PID tuning could solve this issue but I still haven't figured out yet.
Tough choice. Diatone has some nice electronics. But so does iflight. Kind of a bummer just 600mw vtx on the iflight. But it had Xing's, one of my favorite motors. And the Nazgul Evoque is bad ass looking. 👍🤓
iFlight build dream quads, paying a little extra is no question. Diatone are very good but need to keep upping their game to compete. The polar camera is a little weird to fly with and is especially noticeable after i switch from flying a few packs through a Nebula Pro. The latency and half frame rate becomes obvious and I got to say it, less enjoyable for freestyle.
Would be great to have vids where you pick a Brand and then explains their drone one after another, what they are for, differences etc etc. Can't find that on RUclips and would be definitely interesting
Does the Roma run prop in tho? Wouldn’t that make a difference in flight characteristics? Both look nice but I really like Diatone stuff and own 4 of their quads. I do like iflight motor a lot tho.
I have flown the Evoque and have found it to be on par with the Cidora SL5 V.2 in comparison. I personally think that the Titan XL 5 V.2 from Iflight is The Best all around Quad that Iflight has produced so far. The L.E.D lighting is only useful at night. Not supposed to fly after Civil Twilight without FAA waiver. The Low powered L.E.D’s lights don’t do anything for me. It looks cool is all. Flight characteristics are the same as Cidora SL5.
If Blitz would've went with the STM32F727 instead of the STM32F722, you could hook up qGroundControl to use PX4 autopilot features like automatic landing at home and geofencing and other cool things.
If I was in the market for a prebuilt quad the $30 difference isn't enough to sway me one way or the other. Both companies have been building up their reputations for making quality products, so I'd say you can't go wrong either way. As to the pricing increases, welcome to the beginning of a wave of inflation that is likely only going to get worse in the immediate future. Everything is getting more expensive across the board. If you're considering buying one, get it now before the prices go even higher.
At 11:05 you can see a plug that was unplugged not sure if that we the gps or not but really good video looking at getting some beginner fps "race" drones for me and my son we not fly airplane and he's into drones already
Hi Josh. Can you think of any reason I would be experiencing video loss on my Evoque Digital? Everything seems to be intact and it's a new kqad bought from iFlight. My Analog Evoque and other Digital systems don't have any issues. Thank you!
I'm blown away by how the analog version was better than the HD version 😳 and the fact that there was literally no prop wash after that punch out was insane the default tune is very nice 👌 I am a little worried about the 20mm esc though🤔 however if I had to choose I would definitely go with the nazgul over the roma....the analog version! It's funny because around 26:ish I was going to say the exact same thing lol you definitely wouldn't have been able to bail outta that with the HD version 🤣 this was really a great comparison review and maybe it was a weight issue but.....idk....still love the performance of the analog👍✌
The analog quad has the Xing-E Pro and the digital quad has the Xing-2 motors. What's up with that? And why are the Xing-2 motors all black and unmarked? If you try to buy them on GetFPV or wherever they are marked up and with green highlights. I think I can tell you why they fly different. The Xing-E Pro is a different KV (1800) vs the Xing-2 (1755).
JB, got the Iflight Nazgul V3 Analog version it comes with the Blitz 1.6 w VTX, an having nothing but Trouble, and I bought another Blitz VTX an the VTX has Poor penetration and poor image or loss of signal to the VTX, what is going on with IFLIGHT BLITZ VTX? Paid a lot for this Iflight Nazgul V3 5” and if they are selling Defective Blitz VTX what Analog VTX would you Recommend for the Nazgul V3 5”?🙏🙏
Thank God you made this video and I can actually understand a few of the words coming out of your mouth. I need to replace a motor on mine. Is all I need to know is they're Zing II motors?

But this could be why it flies differently.
the DJI motors are 1750kv according to AliExpress... so its 50kv down compared the analog drone and then it weighs more on top, that'll do it.
I got to fly one the other day and damn it is beautiful out of the box. Looked at the black box log of the flight and it is tuned to perfection!
No,ur good. Brother you can fly. Love the hobby but stayed with it because of ken and you. Thanks josh I appreciate all u do.
Cheers
Is the normal Analog 6s Nazgul Evoque available with the Succex-D F7 FC with the 55A esc? Or is it only the HD version that has the better esc and fc?
Did you find some differences between frames, deadcat and squidhead in flying?
Your flying has improved so much since your first videos ... its impressive
If handling and flight experience is the same I would definetly go spending another 30bucks for the Intelligence build, led and protection of flightcontroller etc :)
Thank you Joshua for a great in depth review as always. :)
Im Finally here early lol. I wanted to say thank you JB you have helped me so much since I started in this hobby.
The weight is decent. And those led in the arms are very unique. Hhmmm kind of intriguing.
Hi, What lipo did you use and how did it go. Thinking of the 4s one here. Thanks
Watching this now and Joshua still comparing HD to Analog in the video, its good memories
Ordered one the other day as my first FPV, pretty excited!
14:50 The connector does not get ripped off.. ALL the battery leads will tho.. I have some nasty pics of my 3.3AH battery shredded after getting ejected. The main cables and 2 balance cables were still attached to the quad.. It good not worry buy drone.
I know this is old news however I love my dji evoque best out of box bnf ever by far
FWIW You can change the colors of the LEDs in Betaflight, if bling is your thing.
Yo! I stopped watching your video last year on 3 packs a day to learn freestyle. I'm shock to see how good you're now 😲. I just start this hobby btw.
Haven’t owned a DC frame.. tempted to get it with the evoque but it’d be a bummer if it doesn’t fly nearly as well as the X.. what do you think?
I‘m having the exact same problem. Don’t know which one i should get. Have you already decided?
Hey man, you are one of the best pilot of the world…!!! Respects!
In Europe a bn180 GPS which Galileo looks 18/22 sats dude
Was the flight difference one being true x and one being dead cat, great video again jb
those analog packs you flew are my favorite flights ive ever watched you fly, FINALLY ;)
Wow you thoroughly tested that ESC. That's awesome!
A new Diatone GPS is only 10$, and the back part is 2.99 with the hardware, go buy them Joshua! Mine didn't fall off, but the connector got broke.
What's your weather looking like over there? Tested at 33°C - 45°C ?
took the plunge and bought 1 👍 Angle Aux 2 is already across the full channel.
Bought the Roma as my third quad after watching your video on it JB. First thing I broke... Well, RIP GPS
JB's house.... the most famous FPV track no one has ever been to :)
iFlight build dream quads, paying a little extra is no question. Diatone are very good but need to keep upping their game to compete. The polar camera is a little weird to fly with and is especially noticeable after i switch from flying a few packs through a Nebula Pro. The latency and half frame rate becomes obvious and I got to say it, less enjoyable for freestyle.
What a nice backyard flight and rewiew Joshua. Regards from Germany, Digital FPV Crew Berlin
One of the cool parts of this is being able to hear some of your inputs 87
I've had my eye on this quad thanks for the review I'm going to have to purchase it now
I'm still OG with my Nazgul v1. Had to replace the FC, but it's been bulletproof!
Would be good to update the video with the mention of the difference between the X frame for the analog vs the deadcat shape for the digital...
I fly I flight every day my 5 in is my favorite out of my 7 you are right as rain.
Would be great to have vids where you pick a Brand and then explains their drone one after another, what they are for, differences etc etc.
Can't find that on RUclips and would be definitely interesting
This is also the best freestyle i have every seen you done👌👍
Great video man very informative! About to get into drone flying and your videos are top notch keep them coming
Does the Roma run prop in tho? Wouldn’t that make a difference in flight characteristics? Both look nice but I really like Diatone stuff and own 4 of their quads. I do like iflight motor a lot tho.
1.How to activate the barometer iflight nazgul analog, I dont see on Betaflight?
2. iFlight M8Q-5883 GPS what protocol UBLOX< ENMA..?
It's funny because around 26:ish I was going to say the exact same thing lol you definitely wouldn't have been able to bail outta that with the HD version 🤣 this was really a great comparison review and maybe it was a weight issue but.....idk....still love the performance of the analog👍✌
that’s a pretty cool quad! i don’t usually get prebuilt but i kinda want one
Just got my Roma yesterday and will be testing emuflight 0.4.0 in it today
Awesome review. Great details and I really appreciate the comparison to the strongest competitor.
Those are called LED diffusers, by the way. Spreads the light from a single or multiple LEDs outward.
The Xing-E Pro is a different KV (1800) vs the Xing-2 (1755).
remember that your analog version is with the X Frame and the digital is the Deadcat... might be a difference
I love Iflight products, especially the aio escs ❤️
