Bummer MCK get so much shade in Korea. He's such a good humble guy and a good sport. I'm pretty sure US/DRL/Fans would welcome him with open arms whenever he can travel more. MCK, Vanover, HeadsUp in DRL would definitely be on par for the super bowl in my house.

Great story! There aren't a lot of sportsmen out there who would do everything in their power to bring in someone who could potentially beat them. Says a lot about this sport and the Turner family. And congrats to MCK on a solid win.
Right? I had never seen anything like it in sports. Its like even Rocky and Apollo Creed didnt like each other for 3 movies. Bird and Magic hated each other for decades until they finally became friends. Glad i can share how amazing these guys conduct themselves.
I like your views of this story and I also feel the sportmenship here. You just have to consider that they are also businesspartners. So it's totally in Evan's interest that Minchan get's more famous. Still really nice of Evan. I love them both!
Is it sportsmanship ? Or maybe the fact Korea has 50 million population and this race would be watched by a new audience? New audience, new sponsors, more money!
As a new drone driver man I love how this has grown I’m no where near a pro but the rush from flying my drone has saved my life literally. Play the last couple years I’ve been going through some things and fractured my spine, and I went from being an active young man to hardly being able to do my chores but the eyes in the sky remind me of how beautiful and precious my life is!

Haha such an epic video. Nice coverage and I appreciate it. It's like we were there even though we couldn't be. Thanks very much!
WOW incredible incredible documentary. So well done. It broke my heart to hear that McK doesn’t get applause at local races. McK we love you and hope you can race in America again soon! Also so much respect to Evan for hosting McK. Also congrats to everyone who made this race happen and Chief, FiddyKal, Prop, Evan for epic race performances.
Thanks so much Roo, and for sharing this video as well. I had no idea if it would find an audience at all, so glad it is giving a good glimpse of what it was like to be there. Been enjoying your content and explanations on all sorts of FPV stuff. the Mandalorian ESC theme was awesome.
MCK is a God amongst men in this sport. Love his attitude and his work ethic. Easily the most amazing pilot to watch. I don't even race but holy cow do I respect this man's skill.
What a beautiful, beautiful story! Our world and media are so full of bad news in so many ways with horrible events happening in various places in the world. A story like this shows the goodness in people, the kindness and generosity in people, wonderful fellowship and friendship - across cultures and national divides. Our world needs more of this. Thank you so much for bringing us this wonderful video. I can only fly inexpensive "line-of-sight" drones. What these folks do totally boggles my mind. They are incredible - and incredibly good sports. It doesn't get any better than this. Best wishes.
Wonderful tribute Jon. Mad respects to MCK, he is just on another level. Also to Evan Turner for all he has done to help his closest rival succeed away from home. That kind of thing just doesn't happen in sports.
By far one of your best videos, when I heard that info about how they treated him in Korea, it had me emotional. This hobby has always been about community whether your the fastest or the slowest building a community of friends with liked minded interest is what makes the hobby great if he ever needs a family to sponsor him so he can come race I would volunteer.
He is doing fine now. He has been involved in many film making and drone camera directors. He has been treated well for his recognition. I personally think Korea military should definitely be interested in him.
Welp if he's a korea born korean then he has to join the military by law anyways. Hopefully he can use his drove flying skills to use for his mandatory military time.
It was wholesome seeing him having the support he didn't have back home, winning was also a "suck it b1tch3s". He seems a humble guy and I wish all the best for him and everyone that made this possible, helping, supporting him. Legends!!
I'm very new to fpv and drones in general. Built a couple and working through the details. I've spent the last couple minutes (hours) "yelling" at people who don't agree with me politically, whatever that means. And then I came across this, and remembered what it's like to be a human being again. Very thankful. Happy for that young guy from Korea.
Loved this video, like a mini documentary. Really heart felt and great to hear about other pilots as well. MinChan is so humble, working with him over the last year has been a pleasure. He trains so hard, puts in so many hours. He fully deserved to win.
superb documentary; beautifully expressed commentary. a story we all needed to hear. so amazing and moving to see MCK win and get applause that he so humbly deserves. Thank you for bringing this story to us all.
Jon so well done. Neat to see a crowd that supports him rather than walking away when he wins. A community that he obviously needed. Awesome story, thanks for sharing it with us.

Amazing story telling JonE wow there is so much that goes into these races its cool to see behind the scenes MCK and all the other pilots are absolute beasts!!!! 👍
I subscribed to Minchan several years ago when he only had about 1000 subs. It's been awesome to watch his speed develop since then. He's always leading the pack.
Thank you Jon! As a Missouri native, I found this to be an amazing thing to see documented. I didn't even know Shawn was there with the rig for such an amazing event! What an emotional thing to see MCK here.
The silence that greets MCK when he wins reminds me of prizefighters with long win streaks getting booed by fans because people start to want them to lose. When there isn't a dominant champion, everyone wants a dominant champion; when they get one, they want him or her to lose. Toxic fandom ruins a lot of sports. Hearing that cheering for MCK when he took first was good for the soul. A great documentary about a sport I knew very little about. I'm glad I watched it. Well done.
Its so funny you say that. I have been wondering for the last few years, if top drone racers could have some fast reflex advantages in combat sports like boxing. Really appreciate the feedback. I wonder if a young drone racer trained both boxing and racing from a young age if it could give advantages in both sides (say from age 12-18 or so)
I love that premise, Jon. I think that anything that improves coordination between the hands and the eyes is going to help with anything else that relies on those abilities, like boxing. Not just that, but the multitasking and continuous partial attention that takes place in drone racing is similar to boxing in many ways. For instance, ring generalship in boxing requires a boxer to be aware of the opponent, sure, but also the referee and the ring size and where the turnbuckles are in relationship to the ropes and so forth. Having never piloted a drone before, I can only speculate, but I'm confident there are similarities there to be mined.
Man the story of MinChan´s burden is heavy. You're very supportive over there, the true spirit of FPV!!! I experienced the same over here too. Awesome bts video, much love!

Totally awesome that you made this video revolve around one pilot, other’s too, but it really centered around MinChan. So many people who are passionate about his hobby but you can really tell MinChan’s very passionate. So cool that he was able to attend this race when missing out for two years. Great job with setting all of that up and thanks for you Johnny5 for sharing the experience through video. Great job.
Great video. I think a lot of people forget the simple concept that Minchan is just a kid, and wants to have fun like any other kid. His success has put him on a lonely pedestal, and I am glad he got to have a fun moment down in Costa Rica where people are appreciating his ability.
What a guy … let me repeat…what a guy….being number 1 and knowing in your heart there is someone better than you who doesn’t have the opportunity….to then bring him into your home so he has the opportunity to show the world …….what a fucking guy ….endless amounts of respect
Awesome video . You are a great story teller ! So cool to see MCK travel and racing with people outside of Korea . His natural talent coupled with his hard work are truly amazing to see .
Thanks so much. Long before FPV, my hobby was writing. Have had a goal to write something again for the last few years, and was cool to intersect all 3 of my major hobbies ive had at different times over the years (writing, short film making, and FPV). I had never even left Houston for a race until this year, so this was such an amazing experience to be able to witness and participate in. Evan, Shames and the crew did such an amazing job of running the event. Hope to catch you at the next one.
This is a brilliant video. Great commentary, cool story, nice compilation. Amazing and priceless memories. Thanks, Jon Pressing Like button with both hands.
Wow, thanks! Writing was my old hobby over a decade ago, and short films after that. Was so satisfying to be able to combine all 3 of my lifes passions into one project. Hope to be able to make more of these at some point.
Jon E5 FPV Drones, this is very well done. Very good job on this pilot and racing dig. Also for lifting MinChan up and giving us a taste of this great pilot. Thank you!
This was definitely cable short doc worthy jon👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 awesome stuff man love the footage and I'm not gonna lie I teared up knowing that that don't cheer for minchan at home sad....his emotions showed how much he really appreciated this opportunity keep bring the heat man😁✌🏽
@Jon E5 FPV Drones you did a freakin awesome job man 👍🏽you seriously have the knack for documenting and narrating races man 🤌🏽 that race was INTENSE !!!!

I’ve never been a very big fan of your content but this was by far your best video and I hope to see more like this. I’m extremely grateful you did this and told the story you did!
I appreciate that! Glad I could finally make something that appeals to more people in general, even if they arent normally in my audience. I hope to be able to make more like this in the future, but it is definitely an order of magnitude more hours in editing and shooting than my normal stuff. Appreciate the feedback, ill try to keep improving on the regular stuff as well.

Oh, My God, these guys are Drone Gods! I had no idea till I watched this video how insane this hobby really is. I can't believe how amazing MCK is and yet people in his own country don't even support him is pretty sad. I am going to just start to learn to fly FPV, but I don't know if I will ever get remotely close to this kind of level. As long as I have a great time and get real good, that's all that matters! Out standing job by both pilots! You guys have some mad skills!
thanks so much Bib! Ive been working up to this point with the race vlogs in the last year, with the goal to finally produce a short film more in a 30 by 30 style than a vlog. Hoping these find an audience so i can make more. Its definitely a lot more work, but really enjoyed going back to my old hobby of writing, editing in a way that i haven't been able to do with my normal channel content. Really appreciate the feedback.
So stoked for you Jon! I remember watching this race live and then this vlog when it had only a few views, minutes old. I am not surprised it's blown up, congrats 👏
Talk about sportsmanship, Evan Turner hosting his rival, and getting second, absolutely wholesome. I do think in the future, having less delay on digital systems to increase the quality of the videos might bring more people to watch! I just started FPV and it's definitely a blast, my heart is always racing, no pun intended.
It is for sure amazing to see. Traveling at the end of this week to another big race many of these racers will be at (biggest prize purse race of the year inside an Ice Rink), and i know another racer is hosting Minchan this time. Cant wait to see them go by me on the track.
Congratulations to the whole team for making this happen. I found the profound authenticity and strong ethics very emotional to watch when we witnessed the best performance in the world, MinChan Kim.
thanks so much bot! It was like 10 videos worth of editing, but overall like how it turned out in the end. Hopefully can do a few more and keep improving.
Great video and story telling. I watched this event as you guys broadcasted it. MCK I do believe is the best. Love to watch the competition. It is ashamed that MCK is treated the way he is in his own country. It was good to see everyone cheering him on.
Much appreciated! It was such an amazing opportunity to get to be at this event, glad i could take you all with us and see what it was like. Seeing MCK in action was amazing.
11:44 I almost shed a tear at this moment watching this young man pour his heart out about his experience and expressing his gratitude with so much humility. He almost hesitated to show excitement and or celebrate at this event due to his traumatic past which I find heart-breaking. In Costa Rica nobody would have kept him from rejoicing in his success wholeheartedly, and just reveling in being the legendary pilot that he is already at his young age. Props to Minchan and all who participated and organized this event. As a Tico I am so happy to see FPV being showcased at this level in my beloved Tiquisia. ❤️🇨🇷⛱️🌊🚀
Loved the video. Just getting started in this sport but absolutely loved the camaraderie, and MCK's dominance was absolutely brutal and beautiful. Thank you for the video.
Great video man! That kid is a machine for sure. And it really sucks and kinda makes me sad that when he wins back in Korea that nobody cheers for him. He works soooo hard to be as good as he is, he deserves the recognition for that accomplishment. What he has achieved on the race track is definitely extraordinary!
Awesome coverage of the event I'm so thankful that you took the time to do all the work to make this video happen. You really captured the event well. Hope you keep going with more racing coverage 👍 cheers
Beautiful story and nicely narrated; Thank you! I've been in FPV for some 7 years, and just came back to it after a long break. Need to do some catching up on what's going on in the scene and these kinds of stories so nice for that.
That is awesome! Ive been flying about the same time, racing since around 2017 and its crazy to see how far we have come. I have a 2nd piece to this im working on to follow minchan through his first year of international competition. Stay tuned.
I am not apart of this community but find drone racing fascinating. Hearing what this dude has gone through to finally persevere to the top is what true athletes are about. Great work to the community keeping it positive and instead of begrudging the best, tackle them head on and improve. Keep up the great work everyone!
had to make sure I was subscribed to your channel and went right to MCK's channel for a sub... well done all...MCK - just keep that very reason why you are racing... "I want to enjoy the race" thats the goal and only goal... the rest are just cherry on top...
Thanks again! The response to this has been overwhelming, i am already working on another one on the Mayhem team race. Hope to widen the audience of FPV by telling these stories.
I don't know anything about drone racing but I'm glad it came up on my RUclips playlist. Seem like a bunch of good people having fun. Use those skills to get a job in the movie industry!!!
Excellent story, and what a meet!! I feel like we shouldn't be surprised. South Korea has been the global pioneers in e-sports, and drone racing is quite similar. Congrats to MCK!!
Min has the best and smoothest flow by far, very calculated with little over shoot. Alex has a hard push style with more overshoot which makes a difference in milliseconds and in this case 1st place. Glad to see min take first, he deserves to be recognized, dude shreds fpv
Thanks shames! Was awesome to see you in your element announcing like a pro and running the event. Most spectacular event ive ever been to. More content from this weekend coming soon.

Much appreciated!
Amazing video! I had the pleasure of watching him win the Ice Storm race in Milwaukee recently, he is a absolute machine!!
Hands down incredible!! Great job on sharing the story Jon E5, THANK YOU!
It’s so great to see this. What a great bunch of people. Solid community there.
This is a brilliant video. Great commentary, cool story, nice compilation. Amazing and priceless memories. Thanks, Jon
Pressing Like button with both hands.
thank you for convincing me to go, what an amazing experience! Dual 5th place finishes? NICE!
This was great. I never expected to cry at an FPV video. Really well made.
Thank you!
Thank you very much! More of these to come hopefully!
This was definitely cable short doc worthy jon👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 awesome stuff man love the footage and I'm not gonna lie I teared up knowing that that don't cheer for minchan at home sad....his emotions showed how much he really appreciated this opportunity keep bring the heat man😁✌🏽
know what i'm sayin? awesome
Thank you! 👍 I really wanted to be able to tell the story I saw unfold. Such an amazing race.
@Jon E5 FPV Drones you did a freakin awesome job man 👍🏽you seriously have the knack for documenting and narrating races man 🤌🏽 that race was INTENSE !!!!
@Morning View I get dizzy just watching them lol I still can't believe how these guys rip these quads like that....the hand and eye coordination and timing that it takes is super human! Lol👍🏽✌🏽
@@JonE5FPV i think you found a really unique lane and man it would be dope to hear you tell more stories the way you told this one. I think youre pretty good with your articulation!!! Can i ask you a favor??? Would you take 30 seconds and Look at my channel? I feel like im hitting a wall. I understand the music is part of the issue but i just want to be me.... thanks again
Wow, amazing minidoc dude! I think I'm not alone if I say that *I* *need* *more*
thanks so much Bib!
His flight is so smooth the other guys look like they are struggling
So stoked for you Jon! I remember watching this race live and then this vlog when it had only a few views, minutes old. I am not surprised it's blown up, congrats 👏
What an awesome community!!! Congratulations MinChan
Probably the best video I've watched of yours, loved the documantary style format.
Wow, thanks! It was a lot of work, about 20x more than my normal videos, but glad it works better. Ill try to keep more of these coming.
Congratulations to the whole team for making this happen. I found the profound authenticity and strong ethics very emotional to watch when we witnessed the best performance in the world, MinChan Kim.
dude this is so good!
thanks so much bot! It was like 10 videos worth of editing, but overall like how it turned out in the end. Hopefully can do a few more and keep improving.
Stories like this remind me how great it is to be in America
WOW. My respect for MCK is off the charts. Such a boss.
right? Such skill and such a good competitor too.
What he has achieved on the race track is definitely extraordinary!
thanks joe! It was an amazing event to attend.
Very entertraining! Really looking forward to seeing more of MCK
More to come!
Thanks so much for posting this. Well done and keep rockin!
MCK is one of the nicest guys in fpv. We had a blast having him at our Five33 tiny trainer races before and after freedom spec
Excellent flying everyone! Thanks for making an old man very happy.
Man, this is a great video. Well done. MinChan really is the best out there, no doubt.
Thank you very much!
Awesome coverage of the event I'm so thankful that you took the time to do all the work to make this video happen. You really captured the event well. Hope you keep going with more racing coverage 👍 cheers
Much appreciated!
Such a cool flick! Thanks for sharing and taking the time to make something watchable! GO MCK!
Stay tuned.
Mck God bless you May the future bring you more and more happiness, joy , health 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I am not apart of this community but find drone racing fascinating. Hearing what this dude has gone through to finally persevere to the top is what true athletes are about. Great work to the community keeping it positive and instead of begrudging the best, tackle them head on and improve. Keep up the great work everyone!
What a beautiful story. I wasn't aware of the drama of MCK's story when this tournament was going on. Great work!
Love the sportsmanship on this event.. kudos to all! You guys are all winners
Thanks so much!
had to make sure I was subscribed to your channel and went right to MCK's channel for a sub... well done all...MCK - just keep that very reason why you are racing... "I want to enjoy the race" thats the goal and only goal... the rest are just cherry on top...
Man this was amazing 👏 great job Jon E5 and everyone!
Thanks a ton bobby B! More coming on this event, more interviews and sportsman class as well.
Great short documentary! Was tearing up at the end. MinChan seems like a great guy!
Thanks! It’s been quite a show every time I’ve been able to see him race
I’m from Costa Rica and I’m happy for minchan. I wish to be as good and better one day.
underated hobby, good vibes, awesome ppl
I watch this video not expecting to get emotional. Respect for everyone involved. Thanks for sharing.
What a great bunch of guys. Cheers to all of them.
That was absolutely excellent man so impressed couldn't have been any better u opened my eyes!
Absolutely stellar story telling. Thanks again. Second time watching it and love it still.
Thanks again! The response to this has been overwhelming, i am already working on another one on the Mayhem team race. Hope to widen the audience of FPV by telling these stories.
Beautifully done, bro! I loved every second of this
Thanks a ton coil!
A worldwide brotherhood shown to the world in under 15min vid. Love this community. ♥♥♥
A really touching story. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Christian !
I don't know anything about drone racing but I'm glad it came up on my RUclips playlist. Seem like a bunch of good people having fun. Use those skills to get a job in the movie industry!!!
Any expert is without honor in his own land. MCK, you are awesome, and your flying speaks for itself.
thanks wyatt
FANTASTIC VIDEO! only at 3:30 and I'm pumped.
Welcome to my country! I hope you had a great time here!
Glad to see min take first, he deserves to be recognized, dude shreds fpv
this is epic in everything , it's a best editing documentary winning champ i ever seen in fpv world congrats to MinChan Kim and his family
this is so awesome. getting me right in the feels!!!!!!!
Thanks shames! Was awesome to see you in your element announcing like a pro and running the event. Most spectacular event ive ever been to. More content from this weekend coming soon.
The group seems like the kindest fpv pilots were there and nothing negative could happen there. I ve really wanted to be there just to feel the air ! Amazing video and race.. Congrats to MinChan. He deserves this
Just such a FANTASTIC documentary man! WOW.
Much appreciated! Thank you for all your help, its blowing up and gaining even more steam this week. Just became the most viewed video on my channel.
@@JonE5FPV YOU LOVE TO HEAR IT
Great recap! Looking forward to seeing you at more events
Thanks robert for all the work you and the costa rica crew did to make this happen! More content on this event coming soon.
Ming Chan seems like a humble and good dude...best of luck to him. 👍🏾
Bummer the commentator was hating on Minchan, they talked about the 2nd and 3rd place the entire race, then they spoke to the second place like he won. Good thing the competitors gave him the love ❤️:)
