Great video! I purchased this Nazgul F6 v2 thanks to your review. I started flying FPV for the first time 2 weeks ago. With a lot of Simulator practice i was able to start flying it in Acro mode no problem. Love the hobby more then i expected. I decided to buy/use the DJI Controller 2 since its an easier setup. I am still afraid of going very far out and loosing signal. I wonder how much range it actually has using the Controller 2. I set up GPS and it works great but i am worried it will failsafe on me, I believe that if i loose signal with the DJI controller 2 it will failsafe instead of giving me the chance to activate the GPS. Does anyone have good tips/ recommendations to figure out my limits as far as range goes using DJI Goggles v2, DJI Controller 2, and 03 air unit?

It looks like a green Chimera 7 Pro. Love every bit of it except it had a raspy sound. I have an Evoque F5D that I upgraded to DJI over the summer and it has been amazing. I'd love to have that O3 system in it but $230 is a lot to spend and I doubt the camera will fit in the frame correctly as the front on the F6 is noticeably different. Seems like one downside to O3 is that maybe only deadcats (also maybe ones like that AOS5 frame) and cinewhoops can really use it as an action cam due to props in view.
My AOS Cine25 frame that I ordered after I saw Chris Rosser’s video shipped yesterday and my O3 air unit is getting delivered tomorrow. I’m pretty excited!
I love the O3 in my dji fpv. Cant wait til i can afford the O3 for my speedybee build. This video made me more anxious to get it. Cant wait. Love your videos btw. 👊🏻
I reached approx 120 kph on the V1 version. However i "downgraded" the motors to xing2 2506 from 1500 to 1350kv since i use it mainly for Meidum to Long range cinematic flying. Overall a great drone, like you said. Though not so perfect for freestyle imho, since you can really feel the size compared to a 5"
Yea 5" suppose to be a lil better freestyle but I use the f6 deadcat for freestyle fun.. faster recording with longer flight time. I have run li-ion 4000mah but only get like 18mins and li-ion pack is hot haha
Awesome review! I love that drone so much that when iFlight had a sale on CyberMonday I bought the Nazgul F5D V2 and the F7 Blitz Stack and the GPS so I can build it myself! Cheers!
I have this drone. I run usually 1500mah to 1800mah or li-ion 4000mah but that li-ion I just cruise and still comes down hot. Also on an extremely hot day 95° in full sun the drone blinked off. For a ¼ of a second everything turned off and back on. Dji went black fraction of a second. I heard transmitter make the noise like it just connected to the drone. In video drone looked like a just about to fall out the sky. Think something almost over heated. I might have to take panels off if fly in heat again

Well done Captain ! ; another option for anyone thinking of putting a toe in the water with this style of flying; as an aside, I put a "little toe" in and purchased a S/H Zero X Blitz as a starting point and love the way you have to learn "finesse" with Controller inputs (no altitude hold) ; the Evoque sounded like a Chipmunks Formula One Car !!!! (loved it) also, you may have to be careful with your Friends as I think they are looking to introduce a Captain Drone Vaudeville act !!!!!!!

a lipo on a quad does not die like that. the 03 air unit did not get prioritised due to current draw thru esc. when the videotransmitter cut of so did your rc link because its the same when flying with the dji controller.

@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Indeed, Today it was supper sunny. I flew along the North side of Bizard Island in the Lake of Two Mountains, the estuary of the Ottawa River.
Yes, very common. It just means your battery is on its last legs. You can still use such a battery but it is unwise to use it in a device that draws power quickly... such as an FPV drone.
I thought those original DJI FPV googles did not work with the O3 Unit ? So if I want to use my original DJI FPV googles and controller like yours. I would buy the drone as BNF- DJI Receiver ? Thanks Captain. Im looking to get my first pre built. 😃
Original FPV goggles are called Version 1. They work with the original DJI Air system and not the DJI 03 Air. But, they also work with the RUNCAM WASP which is in many new drones.
I have never had a fpv drone and was wondering if this is a good beginner drone or if i should get one of dji's. If you recommend one of dji's drone, what one would you recommend? And if this helps, I dont want to spend more then $2000 CAD on everything combined.(Drone, Batterys, Controller etc)
With a $2000 budget, get yourself the AVATA 2, and then after you have flown it for awhile, then get yourself the DJI REMOTE 3. Watch my full review of the AVATA 2 and you'll understand my recommendation.
I'm going to assemble an FPV drone. And I want to choose the frame for it. And I review several variants: SpeedyBee Master 5 V2 Frame Kit, ImpulseRC Apex EVO 5" FPV Frame Kit iFlight Nazgul Evoque V2 Frame Kit GEPRC Mark5 Pro DC O3 Frame I will be so glad if you recommend which is best and also maybe some of you have experience with these frames. Thank you in advance!
So I have a couple questions for you I’m looking to buy the same drone what site would you recommend I buy it from and the batteries what would you say for longer flight?
There should be a link under the vid that takes you to one of many sites. IFlight drones are normally purchased from iFlight or Banggood and sometimes GETFPV.
Hi Captain, can you recommend a good drone for a rusty RC pilot to get my feet wet again but still fly it once in a while? I just want something under 249 grams (if possible but not totally necessary) good flight times, doesn't need a good camera or a camera at all. Foldable, a case would be nice, durable, and brushless. Obstacle avoidance and GPS is a must to keep me somewhat stable. Budget $125.00. I hope that wasn't TMI, LOL. But i do know you're the Pro on all things drones and airplanes too now I see 😀 I'd really appreciate any suggestions you could give me. PS: I've watched you for years now, but on a different account I have. However, I just subscribed with this one too. Thank you.
It sounds like you are looking for a GPS CAMERA DRONE and not an FPV DRONE. DJI Mini SE is the most popular under 250 gram CAMERA GPS DRONE. If you want obstacle avoidance that works, then you are looking at adding another $300 to the cost, such as the DJI MINI 3 PRO or AUTEL EVO NANO+. There are much lesser quality drones with obstacle avoidance but the avoidance is more a gimmic than something reliable.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I like the GPS option to help add to some stability in hovers and other maneuvers. I just want a drone that I can use to get back to the basics. Figure 8's, turns about a point, approaches to landing, take-offs and landings. Like I said previously, if there was no camera, I would be fine with that. But I would guess that finding a drone w/o a camera would be impossible. But like I stated previously, camera quality is of no concern to me, for this drone. Does that help a little bit? Thanks!
Just bought this thing because of you XD I really hope its ok to order straight from i flight, i bought from your link and spent a bit over 900 US dollars on it, iv never ordered from i flight, are there any issues or precautions i should take and will customs charge me for some reason? i paid for the fedex/usps shiping method .thanks in advance!
I usually have to pay customs/duties in Canada for anything I buy from CHINA whenever I select DHL, FEDEX, UPS courier shipping. When items come by mail they take 3 to 4 weeks but I often pay no customs/duties.
Since this video DJI has QUIETLY acknowleded that the DJI FPV REMOTE and the DJI O3 SYSTEM will sometimes DISARM and cause a drone to fall out of the sky. Hopefully they fix this problem. In my case the battery cell was damaged either in flight or during the crash, so the jury is out on the real reason.
I have a question. If I get this drone. Can I use the DJI goggles from the DJI Fpv drone and that controller or do I have to get new controller and goggles. Love the channel and video.
Yes, your gear will work. Just update the firmware on your gear. Also, You then have to switch your goggles to the O3 system (look in the goggles menu and you’ll find the option). Then take your new drone, press the link button, it flashes red, then press the link button on your goggles. When they are linked, then you repeat the process and link to your remote (hold the power button on the remote down until it goes into link mode).
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Hi! I just got the drone in, it didn't come with a charger for the batteries, what do you recommend? anything i can get on amazon? thanks again
@@SeeExperience pro FPV drones don’t come with chargers because this is not a Beginner kit. I’ve reviewed tons of pro battery chargers. If you do a search for CAPTAIN DRONE BATTERY CHARGER you’ll find all the popular ones.
I am thrilled with my purchase of the Nazgul Evoque 6 v2 with OS3 and 2.4g ELRS. The iflight commando controller is fairly decent imho. Now if i can just get Betaflight OSD showing in DJI Goggles 2. Anyone know how to get OSD in Goggles 2, not the V2 Goggles, but the DJI Goggles 2, please let me know or drop a link in this comment. Thanks! 🇺🇸✈️
You set up what you wish to see in the OSD in BETAFLIGHT CONFIGURATOR. As well in the goggles you have to flick the setting to allow such OSD to be seen. You'll figure it out.
Not sure. The arms usually have holes for the drone they are made for (for body and motor). Carbon fiber can be drilled through with a good drill bit or dremel, so if you purchased the different arms you may find yourself drilling new holes so that everything fits.
I just bought the Nazgul F5 and for the life of me cannot get it to bind to my controller. Do you happen to know where exactly the bind button is? I'm sure it's on the bottom part of the quad, but can't see where it is.
In the RC hobby, the word "controller" and "remote" is what GPS Camera pilots use to describe the item in their hand (you can thank DJI for that). When you talk about the RC hobby of RC Cars, Trucks, Boats, Helicopters, Planes, FPV Drones, the term to use is TRANSMITTER or RADIO. The only reason I mention this is because if you ask a company about their "Controller" they may not know what you are talking about. So to answer your question... RADIOMASTER and JUMPER make great RADIO's that are ELRS only. If you wish to stick with your DJI FPV REMOTE then make sure you buy an FPV Drone that has the DJI O3 Air unit in it and NO receiver (in other words get the PNP version). If you buy one with an ELRS Receiver, then you need an ELRS Radio/transmitter.
I just had the exact same thing happen to mine, except I wasn't on a full throttle run. I was going pretty fast, but slowing to turn and it just noped out. Luckily the battery took the brunt of the crash and the drone is fine, but what is wrong with this thing? I wasn't even as far away from myself as you were when mine let go.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 DJI controller 2. Watching the Goggle playback I'm fairly sure it just lost signal and triggered fail safe. I was in line of sight and closer than you, but you can see rapidly drop from 50, 34, 16 out of nowhere right before video loss.
@@texasreddirt1408 There are more and more reports coming out that it is the O3 comms with the DJI FPV Controller. Apparently if there was a receiver on the drone like cross fire or ELRS this does not occur (motors disarm). Guess we’ll find out more as time goes on.

@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thanks Capt ! I might just get it with ELRS, the Jumper TPro and DJI Integra 👍
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thank You
Sounds like a drone with metal detectors could find lost GPS units?
I'm going to assemble an FPV drone. And I want to choose the frame for it. And I review several variants:
SpeedyBee Master 5 V2 Frame Kit,
ImpulseRC Apex EVO 5" FPV Frame Kit
iFlight Nazgul Evoque V2 Frame Kit
GEPRC Mark5 Pro DC O3 Frame
I will be so glad if you recommend which is best and also maybe some of you have experience with these frames. Thank you in advance!
Can you review tongjia U8? Pls
Thanks!
Hi CAPTAIN WHAT kind of antenna those your nazgul use?
Mine is listed on the website under the specs for the Evoque
Just bought this thing because of you XD I really hope its ok to order straight from i flight, i bought from your link and spent a bit over 900 US dollars on it, iv never ordered from i flight, are there any issues or precautions i should take and will customs charge me for some reason? i paid for the fedex/usps shiping method .thanks in advance!
I usually have to pay customs/duties in Canada for anything I buy from CHINA whenever I select DHL, FEDEX, UPS courier shipping. When items come by mail they take 3 to 4 weeks but I often pay no customs/duties.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Its here finaly and it really does have good fit and finish :)
What size batteries do you use with this big boi? 2200mah good enough or too much?
It all depends on battery length
Excellent Video. Thank You.
Thanks for checking it out
I don't mind seeing the props in drone videos. Or when I'm flying fpv.
As always nice review 🔥 btw,do you balance charged the R line Tattu ? What do you think on why it failed on mid air?
Since this video DJI has QUIETLY acknowleded that the DJI FPV REMOTE and the DJI O3 SYSTEM will sometimes DISARM and cause a drone to fall out of the sky. Hopefully they fix this problem. In my case the battery cell was damaged either in flight or during the crash, so the jury is out on the real reason.
Your using the 03 air unit with the old goggles
So you can actually do that ?
Yes, they work with the old DJI FPV version 2 goggles
you are awsome sir. excellent video as always.
Thank you
Really nice footage sounds good
Awesome video! You were flying with the dji goggles v2 or 2?
In this vid I believe I used the DJI GOGGLES 2 (The small ones)
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 nope you used the V2.. the 2 dont have the bottom antenas hehe
Hey I purchased one of these using your reference link I hope you got the credit. Thanks for the great vid!
Thanks! I may, or may not get credit. It is all up to the online store.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 last question. What controller would you recommend to upgrade to from the DJI controller
@@SeeExperience Radiomaster TX16s
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Hi! I just got the drone in, it didn't come with a charger for the batteries, what do you recommend? anything i can get on amazon? thanks again
@@SeeExperience pro FPV drones don’t come with chargers because this is not a Beginner kit. I’ve reviewed tons of pro battery chargers. If you do a search for CAPTAIN DRONE BATTERY CHARGER you’ll find all the popular ones.
that battery was screaming " help me".. haha
Will the F5 work with the DJI goggles 3 and remote 3?
Not at this time
Great Job my friend you have an awesome channel.
Thank you
What is the max payload?
can i use arm of this build for my nazgul evoque f5 deadcat v2 ? i wanna upgrade if its compatible
Not sure. The arms usually have holes for the drone they are made for (for body and motor). Carbon fiber can be drilled through with a good drill bit or dremel, so if you purchased the different arms you may find yourself drilling new holes so that everything fits.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 ok thanks sir
She’s a real beauty that drone, but as yet I don’t have a dji goggle to be able to use it, otherwise I’d be more than happy to have it.
I dont see the links for the drone
Is O3 compatible with the old version 1 of the DJI FPV remote control ? thank you
O3 is compatible with the grey DJI FPV remote.
thank you :-)
so if i get this drone i can just use teh DJI FPV goggles and radio for it?
Yes, if you get the PNP version
Does it work with the new FPV goggles by DJI? (the one that comes with Avatta)
Yes
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thanks!! Looks like a purchase for me then haha
Love it ❤Epic Drone
I just bought the Nazgul F5 and for the life of me cannot get it to bind to my controller. Do you happen to know where exactly the bind button is? I'm sure it's on the bottom part of the quad, but can't see where it is.
First thing you need to know I what receiver is in your drone & do you have a compatible radio
Does it have an analog version
Im thinkin to get this drone as my first fpv drone. 😊 which controller best suits stuck with elrs and dji controller
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 thanks for the radiomaster trivia haha... Il be watching more your videos to learn more about fpvs. keep flyin 🙂
You failed to mention how it bursts I to flames for no apparent reason Capt.
That's a new one. Has there been a pile of reported cases or just one odd case?
@CAPTAIN DRONE I've herd of a few so far. IM NOT ALONE! Iflight has agreed to repair it which tells me they know something ain't right.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 it happened after like the 6th flight.
How would you compare this model to the bob57?
I just had the exact same thing happen to mine, except I wasn't on a full throttle run. I was going pretty fast, but slowing to turn and it just noped out. Luckily the battery took the brunt of the crash and the drone is fine, but what is wrong with this thing? I wasn't even as far away from myself as you were when mine let go.
Very odd indeed!
Which remote were you using?
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 DJI controller 2. Watching the Goggle playback I'm fairly sure it just lost signal and triggered fail safe. I was in line of sight and closer than you, but you can see rapidly drop from 50, 34, 16 out of nowhere right before video loss.
@@texasreddirt1408 There are more and more reports coming out that it is the O3 comms with the DJI FPV Controller. Apparently if there was a receiver on the drone like cross fire or ELRS this does not occur (motors disarm). Guess we’ll find out more as time goes on.
@@texasreddirt1408 There seems to be a known issue between O3 Unit, DJI Controller 2 (RC2) and iFlight. Supposedly, iflight replaces the stock O3 dual band 2.4ghz/5.8ghz LHCP antenna with two 5.8ghz only LHCP antennas which is causing the issue with the RC2 which is 2.4ghz.
Capt….rippin!!!!!!!!
Do you have any ideas how long will be flying time with 4000 mah?
Yikes.... max is maybe 1500. 4000 is what you stick in an RC Car or RC Plane. Unless of course it is a LION battery.
how do you change camera angle on this model please? screws?
Move camera with your fingers. Sometimes you have to loosen screws on each side of the camera
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 ok thank you Cap!
Hey guys is if the connector for the batteries out of my drone is out the side rather than the back is it bad?
Perfectly fine

Are the F6 arms compatible with the F5 frame?
I've never tried it
