I love how out of everything, John seems to be the only person who’s unfazed by the fact that a zombie outbreak has happened
Im pretty sure that was because he just straight up had no idea what is going on so he probably didn't even know he should be scared
@@bigmanpesto also, all of his life had been filled with danger and near death experiences. So this was likely no different
i love how jack starts hesitant, slow, hell even dismissive about the subject in his book but when he starts going and sees that his dad is actively listening and trying to understand he just GOES OFF its very healing to my inner child

I imagined it's mostly because of Seth's grave robbing, and lack of showers, that pacifies the zombies around him, always smelling like the rotting death he's constantly around, so the zombies just naturally recognize it as "not food"
Then why do they still attack John when he's a zombie, wouldn't he smell like one of them in the epilogue

I always viewed it as the undead remembering how Seth spoke to them after they died and somehow remembered

Something about a zombie apocalypse in a western setting made it extremely unique and fun. What better setting and story to implement this into than Red Dead Redemption.

God, every time! I had this one on the box 360, and I NEVER finished the story because it happened after every 25 minutes. I used cheats often so maybe that contributed but good almighty god was it annoying. Even without cheats it.occured
@@ghostslayer1981 Same here. Both on 360 AND PS3. But I doubt the cheats had anything to do with it. The cause was an update they put in the game. If you manage to revert your game to before that update, the glitch won't occur, cheats or no cheats. But I have no idea how to do that, or if that's even possible on consoles. To my knowledge, the only thing you can really do on console is to save CONSTANTLY, and be ready to reload a save after clearing a graveyard or town, as those tend to be the two events where it happens most frequently. But even with that glitch, it's definitely still worth playing through all the way!
I LOVE taming the horses of the apocalypse, loved when I got Death I would just run through Jorge's Gap and plow through the undead & watch them explode ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
The sad part is when I was playing the DLC I kept getting a glitch where the zombies were turned into humans. Just all of them turned to humans randomly, it was weird as hell.

By the way there are more ways to avoid the headless zombie glitch, it only happens on the GOTY Disc version, and if you do get the glitch you can either reload a save or "end" yourself to get rid of the glitch.
Wasn’t the reason Seth was not attacked by zombies because the glass eye he got during the story? I could be very wrong.
No it was because he smelled like death and zombies thought he was one of them. He does cause the second outbreak tho
Newer fan been watching your stuff for a week or 2 now and I just wanna say I really appreciate your content. Someone whos studied game design and played games its easy to get jaded. Having this channel to remember to look for the good and enjoyment in games is awesome puts me into a "for fun" mindset that ive missed for so long. Love your content man keep up the great work.

This DLC obviously came out WAY before any context was given to RDR2, but I'd make sense that in a nightmare like this, John wouldn't even think of putting some cruel zombie fate onto Arthur, Sean, Kieran, Lenny or Hosea, because for God's sake, these are people he misses and respects. Even makes sense why Dutch, Bill and Javier don't appear as Zombies, because part of him still kinda misses the trust and friendship he once held for them. Now, why is Micah not reappearing as a Zombie that a small part of John can't help but relish killing over and over again? It could be because we can't travel to where we killed him. Also, John WOULD project some sickening cannibalistic zombie-like world on the civilized modern world that at best John struggled to adapt to, and at worst, wanted to burn down like Dutch wanted to. Rickets got it right when he met him here.

Gamingwins idk if you’ll see this or if it even matters now but you could circumvent that bug you mentioned with headless zombies, by hitting them with your torch twice, burning them alive. Honestly the torch is the best weapon in the game, especially if you’re low on ammo
Ngl, this is just me, but you should really do another "Everything Great About: RDR2" but with high honor and see what's the differences and your new view and take on the story.
It’s so fucked up how John literally saves the world by ending the apocalypse and still gets shot to hell by the government in the end

Honestly I think the only reason this is not canon is the supernatural, as far as I'm concerned this is a continuation of John's story in the base game, and clearly the past events are canon to it, even if it's not part of the official story.
A fellow John over Arthur fan? Respect.
John feels more relatable because he’s not as perfect as Arthur. Sure Arthur is “not a good man” because of the gang life but in every other way he’s too perfect (good looking, smart, wise, and funny). John is flawed but in a more realistic way, he’s average in so many aspects (especially in RDR2) which makes him more similar to us, the world’s average. And the fact that he does everything for his family is way more relatable to us than “clarity before death” in Arthur’s story

Up-Close executions were the only things that got me through Undead Nightmare, seeing as I was too stupid to find vantage points. Maybe the PS3 GotY edition had the bug fixed or something.
Sadly though, it doesn't let you get the fancy gambling outfit that used to be attached to signing into Rockstar or whatever, like the original version does just by updating the game.

Rockstar games with auto aim turned on are not video games at all. For my friend's essay "TheButterAnvil - How John Wick Can SAVE Gaming" I wrote a section on the innovative middleware they license to make NPCs react to physics stimuli believably and how to use it to your advantage to create expressive and brutal gunfights. When you can snap to every target and then pull up to a headshot you basically just delete that NPC before the system can even activate, so you'll never get to interact with it

Hey do not get me wrong I like your videos. You just have a tendency to make things sound more intellectual then they need to be. People like Jordan Peterson do this and it is one of their major criticisms because it can be very off-putting for listeners. Try to be more concise when your talking about complex ideas and remember for effective communication simplification is key. Other then that small criticism I like your videos keep up the good work bratha.

And then it comes full circle with the young John killing him, then the post story open world is that younger John saying he'll finish what Arthur started out of respect... As a mirror of RDR1's post game.
