From the UK, I wasn't expecting you to carry out that sprayin' threat - and Bruce was awesome at the way he received and turned to go back chillin' - COOL Stuff! You sold me on Louisiana Boiled Peanuts, when next I come around I'll ask for your peanuts!
@@David-we3sb I add the seasoning right away to boiling water and then add the nuts. The peanuts start to soak up the flavor as soon as they’re put in, so it’s better to add all the flavors first. I use bay leaves, cayenne pepper, and pretty much a mix of spices you’d use in taco seasoning
Lawd ain’t you got fancy boiling those peanuts. I remember traveling around the South about 40 years ago and stopping to buy peanuts in AL and Louisiana. The were boiling in an old wash tub over a wood fire. I remember my mother making sauerkraut in a big wash tub. If I could only go back in time for just a little while.
Good video. Love me some boiled peanuts and appreciate the shout out to SC, but man, you got to wash those peanuts off before you drop em in the boiling water.
This is EXACTLY what I miss about Georgia. Lived there for a time as a kid. Was able to at least find raw peanuts out west so far. I hate dry roasted. Always have. Unfortunately, DIY is the only way I'm getting tasty boiled peanuts. I tried reheating canned peanuts on the stove and didn't like it.
I eat peanuts this way here at home. When I travel outside of La, it just seems like everyone else's peanuts are bland. Everybody's got their own thing, but I love the La spice and seasoning. I was raised to love all things Cajun.
I love to make these occasionally…I throw any Cajun spices I got in the cupboard in there plus I add fresh home-grown ghost and cayenne peppers… But I always forget when the green peanuts are available. I’m in Florida. Also, I once bought fresh made garlic style that were delicious (roadside truck!), but my home experiment didn’t work out. Anybody have any ideas for THAT recipe? I mean, it’s just garlic and salt I assume, so how did I manage to screw it up? Do you think they could have used some garlic OIL in the boil?
Hold up… I’m from N.O., but grew up at my gpaws and we were taught you throw that peanut in your mouth, softly bite, separate, eat the nut, bite down on shell once or twice for extra flavor, n spit. 😂
I’m from California too and just moved to Florida and had never heard of boiled peanuts before. Tried them for the first time and they’re delicious lol
Wait til you try someone’s homemade boiled peanuts. We add neckbones which adds an insane amount of flavor. What you had was peanut patch canned peanuts
Give me a dash of that juice in my Bloody Mary. That stuff must be pretty zippy. I saw "Boled Peanuts" canned,at my local Wally World. I really like 'em. Better right out of the cooker. Yeah!
Nice but drain the water off after the first hour and then rinse off and put clean water back in after for the next couple of hours to boil them with the seasonings 👌
Wow!! Great video! I had no idea you could freeze boiled peanuts. How do you reheat? Georgia girl here currently living in Nicaragua. Missin that southern staple, but plan to recreate here💪🏽 Thank you!
After you've done your regular cooking then try (using about 1# to test) putting that # in real cold water to cool enough to soak a little and taste! What your doing is a shock to stop cooking and allow flavors etc. to "pull" in flavors and then EAT! WHOA, you'll like with your good flavors!!
That dude laying on the porch swing; my kinda guy. Take’n life easy😎. Made me laugh too😆.
My boi chillin ain’t he !! Love it
hahA!
I wish I was that guy
That's Bruce Mitchell from history Channel Swamp People. Such a pretty awesome dude
That's ole Bruce Mitchell!
Paw Paw was chillin like a villain. I know that’s right!!!😂💯👏🏾
Bruce is a trip!!!! "Dey ready yet?" Same recipe we use, but we use celery seed. Be safe and see you on the next video

Big Bubba in the back just living life lol
You know it's a good recipe when there's a dude napping as close to the peanuts in the background so he has first dibs when they're ready 😁😁😁
Been eating these for 70 years and cooking them for for about 60 years at least! I do mine a little differently.
how do you make them? if you don't mind sharing
Same, but generally the same

I’m a southern boy from Texas, how have I never heard of boiled peanuts until now. I should be ashamed of myself 😂

The capital of boil peanuts is right here in Alabama. Boil peanuts all over the place here
I am from the North East, and I never heard of boiled peanuts im 52 years old! I am making some of these damnit!
Leave the celery out. And make sure to wash/rinse the peanuts a couple times before you boil them.
@@MrSteeles912 I'm a northerner.. who lives in Florida & I'm being told to wash & rinse mine as well

"Boiled nuts? Christ, Coach! What is wrong with you southerners?" -Nick from Left 4 Dead 2
They look good. Just one question were the peanuts cleaned already before you started cooking them?
Oh course not 😂, he’s using a hose to put more water in it too
I thought I was the only one who noticed that. He really needs to change that water out after the first boil.

I guess they’re for crawfish mostly.
One of my favourite cold weather snacks!! I’ll eat them any time tho!
Great video! Making a batch now in Baton Rouge.
I dont understand these weird things. I just moved from California to Florida and Im ADDICTED. the ones from 7/11 are insane!

Where are you getting thr green p nuts from. I'm from South MS and where I was getting them closed down
That's the aillgator man Bruce lol
😹😹😹 I wasn't paying attention to the recipe because he grabbed my attention
Do you not need to rinse them first? Are they gritty? Last time I made some they told me I should have rinsed them first
Thanks for the lesson in these, I always wanted to try
That looks like real boiled peanuts . Those in the can don't cut it . They are undercooked and still kinda crunchy
Nice but drain the water off after the first hour and then rinse off and put clean water back in after for the next couple of hours to boil them with the seasonings 👌

Teehee 🤭
I want that machine, where do you get it? Please send a link.
Where can I get a sack of green peanuts like that ? I am close to you !!
Check Miller’s Mart in Hammond
Try boiled breadfruit seeds they taste just about the same as boiled peanuts just a lot bigger
That’s Exactly how you eat a boiled peanut lol
I don't eat boiled peanuts the way that he did! XD
Where’s the recipe for that creole southern boy seasoning?
The yeast from the beer works wonders
Florida purple peanuts. The best. Taste the nut. Don't drown it in old bay and Cajun shit. It's all about the peanut.
Why do you put the celery in it?
Flavor
that looks delicious brother!

Bruce just chillin….lol.

It's a LOCO 150 qt crawlfish boiler
The boy on the swing disappeared, is he ok?
After 3 whiskey naps you need a whiskey sleep. That's life.
After you freeze them what do you recommend to get them ready to eat again
THATS HOW ITS DONE
This is legendary, dude.
Great Video; where can I buy those sack of peanuts and how much were they.
Assuming you’re in the South Publix usually has these big bags
@@gorillabiskut lowes IGA has them also
Those peanuts need about 12 more hours to boil then 24 hours to soak.
Poor Bruce 😂
Should be able to bite the shell and pull the peanuts out the shell stay whole and the nuts come right out
Ever use valencia peanuts?
Is that Bruce from Swamp People?
I’m thinking the same thing. I think so.
I thought the peanuts for boiling should be green. Does it work for both types?
These were green peanuts. When he first shows the bag of them look on the lable.
Green peanuts just means raw. They are not necessarily green. Cheers from NC
Bruce from swamp people ❤
What’s the name of boiler he used
It's a LOCO 150QT crawlfish boiler
Actually cooking them a lot differently as I use my own recipe that I've created years ago!
I cook towards the pegs, that's my test!
