Never, ever heard of boiled peanuts. I roast a bag of peanuts every Sunday. It's a tradition in my country that we finish off the Sunday meal with roasted peanuts in their shells. Will give these a try for a change, although, if I understood correctly, these are eaten as a snack between meals or in front of tv.
I remember my first experience as a little girl buying boiled peanuts off the side of a dirt road in Louisiana with my family. I will forever love boiled peanuts ❤
I remember eating boiled peanuts at my grandparents house in Bishopville SC in the 60's and 70's. My sisters and I loved them. My children still eat them today. I was cooking some today so I searched for this video to make sure I was doing them right. Such good memories.
I was raised in Tabor City, NC (40 miles northwest of Myrtle Beach, SC); population less than 2,000. There was an older guy who use to ride around selling already boiled peanuts from his bicycle for $.50 (1960's) a bag. They were great. I bet he was one of the better-to--do people in Tabor.
Thank you, Phyllis! I'm from Connecticut and when I tell people about boiled peanuts, they just laugh at me. I am so happy you shared this recipe. Now I can enjoy them all the way up here in the northeast! 💗
From CT too…. We discovered boiled peanuts during our trips to SC…. They are great any time, but for us there is no beach day without a bag of boiled peanuts. Just ordered a bag of dry Virginia peanuts, will make them for tomorrow!

I came from Michigan to Florida and was quickly turned on to boiled peanuts. That was 35 years ago and now I am in the White Mountains of Arizona. Nope, dont have them here so once things open up back to socialization up here, I'll be turning people here on to boiled peanuts! Very good with cajun seasoning!!

You're so nice. Thank you! Just moved to Georgia from Maryland in 2022 and I want to try these. I haven't seen them anywhere local to where I am, but I work from home a lot and don't get out much, lol!
I know you're a proper Southern lady and maybe other people don't eat them like this, but I just put the whole, unopened boiled peanut in my mouth and suck and drink all the salty juice out and then crack it open in my mouth and separate it from the shell and eat it that way and then spit out the shell, just like eating sunflower seeds! If you can't do that, you can always just barely crack the shell length wise, pull it out of your mouth, eat the peanut and then throw away the shell! 🤤
Cooked my Peanuts over night on low. They came out sooooo good! I changed my salt though to Pickling and Canning salt. It was my best tasting peanuts to date.

Eddie Mitchell, Bertie County Peanuts here in NC sells them online. I also found them on Amazon. The ones I buy are Owen Brothers out of Virginia because they are available at my local store.
Hubby and I love boiled peanuts! We used to get them at the Ladson SC flea market, until I witnessed the woman lick her fingers to undo the bag she was going to put the peanuts in!! I know that doesn't bother some people but it completely sickens me. I showed him this and God willing we will have some this weekend!
It's perfect except for I add some vinegar cause then you get an extra kick of tangy flavor. You should also soak and rinse them several times cause some still have alot of dirt on them.
OK the main requirement for this recipe had to be a southern accent so she passes. I love that she puts a general amount of peanuts but then a specific amount of water. I love it that she wants it to go faster but puts it in the crockpot. I love that the crockpot doesn’t really work. I seriously love this recipe. It’s boiling a peanut.
Enjoyed your video. We live in SC. and get peanuts that are shipped in to the grocery stores. They are not bagged...you just measure out the amount you want, but they will soon be out of season. May I ask you where you get the large bags that you are using in the video?
Beverly Watson I found these which are Owen Brothers , at the Fort Bragg Commissary. I have also found them at a local IGA store. I just bought 2 more bags yesterday and store them in my extra refrigerator and they keep all year. The ones that you scoop, as long as they aren’t green peanuts, would keep in a plastic grocery bag with the top tied.
I can feel the warm southern hospitality in your voice. God bless you for sharing; this is medicine for a stressed soul.

All in
I live in PA now and miss my boiled peanut. Where can I get a bag of peanuts like that? Thanks for bring back the memories!
Eddie Mitchell, Bertie County Peanuts here in NC sells them online. I also found them on Amazon. The ones I buy are Owen Brothers out of Virginia because they are available at my local store.
Look up Hardy Farms Peanuts 🥜
Thanks, I just did! It won’t be long before you’re eating boiled peanuts 🥜
Great video!!
That crock pot is HUGE!
pavelow235 my $25 special from Amazon! It works great too!🥜🥜🥜
Hubby and I love boiled peanuts! We used to get them at the Ladson SC flea market, until I witnessed the woman lick her fingers to undo the bag she was going to put the peanuts in!! I know that doesn't bother some people but it completely sickens me. I showed him this and God willing we will have some this weekend!
Catrina Moncrief how did they turn out? Hope they were just what you were looking for!
Oh I just love this sweet lady 💕
Phyllis...if I wanted to add a little kick to them, what type of Cajun seasoning would you add?
Marsha Young I like Tony Cachere’s Cajun Seasoning, but I actually grow some hot peppers, dry them and throw them in whole to add a little spice.🥜🌶🥜
THANKS, FROM SOUTH CAROLINA.
THE BOZO you are so welcome!🥜🥜🥜
It's perfect except for I add some vinegar cause then you get an extra kick of tangy flavor. You should also soak and rinse them several times cause some still have alot of dirt on them.
My Opa lives in the south and these are always on stands on the side of the road down there
OK the main requirement for this recipe had to be a southern accent so she passes. I love that she puts a general amount of peanuts but then a specific amount of water. I love it that she wants it to go faster but puts it in the crockpot. I love that the crockpot doesn’t really work. I seriously love this recipe. It’s boiling a peanut.
Ms. Phyllis, can I come over and watch football and eat boiled peanuts on Saturday?
I live way up in Pa. And wonder if you can tell me where I might order some raw peanuts thanks
Richard Bryant -Bertie County Peanuts sells them and I found them on Amazon. It is peanut harvesting time now in NC.
@@sissyjollie thank you very much
Enjoyed your video.
Thank you for your reply!
Love all the Clemson swag...
It has been much easier to find the last few years!🐯🏈🐯🏈🐯
So excited to try these! Where did you find your Clemson dish?
Catrina Moncrief my hubby found it in a thrift store in his hometown that sells new stuff as well as used.
Love your Clemson stuff! Go tigers!
Christy Rouse Thanks!🐯🧡🐯
Where I can get the same bag of peanuts that you are using? what brand is it?

Thank you!
Don't all shelled peanuts come with red skin? I am having trouble finding some online.
