You are absolutely beautiful! Man I’m making some today and they’ve been cooking in my Instapot for 5 hours. 😅. I’m going to try the green peanuts maybe that’s what it is. :)
I moved away from the south when I was a kid and was looking up recipes and found yours. Then I saw that magazine in the background about Dothan where I grew up just off Ross Clark Circle! Baseball and boiled peanuts on summer days. I'll be thinking of that when I make em out here!
Those are green peanuts..dry peanuts are considered raw..southeast Georgia here and there’s nothing better than stocking our freezer with boiled peanuts! Yummy! I’m currently in the process of boiling a bushel and came to see if I can use my instant pot to help the process lol
Are those green or raw? My understanding was green are straight out of the garden and raw are dried. I am just now learning and want to use the insta pot. Thanks
I want to thank you. I´ve lived in the South all my life and do sincerely enjoy boiled peanuts HOWEVER, mine never came out right, or as well. First, we can´t get the Spanish Reds any more because the Asians buy them all and, well, that´s life. Secondly, I was thinking that 45 minutes was way enough! Apparently, that´s why my peanuts always taste like those crappy convenience store ones. Thank you for clarifying and if anyone knows where I can get some Spanish Reds in bulk, I´d appreciate it. The white ones just aren´t as sweet and flavorful to me. Thank you.
@Kathy when you say "raw" do you mean "raw" as in green raw fresh? Here in Florida we can get both since its July. I traditionally used raw green peanuts for my boiled peanuts but people now are using dehydrated "raw" peanuts. I am trying those today but not so sure about those lol

You and I are about he same age. Been eating boiled peanuts since probably 3. Never heard of adding sugar. I'll give it a shot. You are a sweet-heart.

How about that! It's a small, big world!!! Dothan is such a wonderful place to live! By the way RCC became a six lane this year! Finally!!!!
Roll Tide! Just used your recipe. Our Instapot had low and high pressure, so we chose low. Cooking now. Will let you know how they turned out.

This chick is a daytime 9 😍
I'll be making these this weekend for the big game. Hook 'em!
OK. Where are you finding any good 'green' peanuts. I'm dead here.
@bigair785 they're plentiful in southeast Alabama
Wait!! Sugar?? I’ll have to try a batch your way

Yes. Green peanuts. They're the only ones that will boil right❤️
Do you freeze your peanuts? If so how?
I sure do. I put them in a ziplock back and put them in the freezer
Roll Tide ❤❤❤
