  • Southern Roadside Stand Style Boiled Peanuts... Hillbilly Caviar!!!... Absolutely Addictive!! and you will not regret serving them at your next gathering. Take my word... no one can stop eating them once they start... I have what I think is the perfect salt to peanut ratio and a method that I have used for a year or so now that gets the peanuts to take on water...and then sink which helps them not only cook better but also helps them to absorb the salt and whatever seasonings you have added... It has worked well for me and I think you will have the same result... Ain't nothing better than some salty boiled peanuts for many situations!!!

You are a man after my own heart. I love boiled peanuts.. I buy them in a can, but they are crunchy and I like them soft, so I put them in the ninji for 40 min and they come out perfect.

I used your recipe but made adjustments cause I only have a 6 qt pot I measured out a gal of nuts and used 1/2 cup of salt acouple of small handfuls of red chilie flakes and about 12 drops of Tabasco scorpion sauce and the turned out great trouble is I get addicted to stuff and overeat then I was getting diarrhea that looked like peanut butter so I looked up on eating boiled peanuts which said boiled peanuts are very healthy even more so than roasted peanuts but also have side effects like gut pain and diarrhea so I must eat them in moderation thanks fire the video I hope my comments can help some other newcomers to boiled peanuts

I used to get these regularly when I lived in Florida, back in '08. Every roadside stand had the Valencia peanuts. I'm back in WV, and I cannot find them anywhere online. Any recommendations? The Valencia are definitely my favorite. Great video!

I rinse and drain the raw peanuts, add To intant pot, add water to the 1/2 inch line, mix 1/4 cup Hawaiian salt, cook at high pressure 50 minutes natural release (NP). Sometimes I add ginger or garlic powder or anise powder.

I like peanuts. In fact, I like to get the raw peanuts so I can roast them myself. Personally, I think that MOST roasted peanuts are way over roasted and you taste the "roast" more than the peanut. Never thought of making my own boiled peanuts though. I think I'm gonna have to try this John. Always a pleasure. And thank you.

I doubt anyone in Eastern Canada ever heard of this. We tend not to have very unique food traditions plus selection isn't great. For example collard greens. I can't find them anywhere and I love those. Anyway, I hadn't heard of boiled peanuts until like twenty minutes ago. Now I want to make them. Must be a southern American thing, eh? Look delicious in all of the videos.

I only cooked them for 1hr.10 minutes, but let them sit overnight. I found another recipe online and they came out perfect despite adding both chicken broth and too much salt. I forgot chicken broth has salt already in it. I need to read your replies next time before fixing, lol. Next batch will be perfect.

Instead of wasting all this electricity (for 2.5 hours jeez), just do 45 mins of pressure cooking and then wait for an hour before opening it up.
Just because electricity is free don't mean you need to waste it.
