That’s how I felt about the Doux mousse when I used it with no other product hair looked great but felt DRY / Straw like. I still like the product but it has to be layered with something
I use Camille Rose curlaide moisture butter mixed with baby oil and Biosilk hair therapy to bag my ends. Seems to be working to stop my dry brittle end.
I like the doux products for the way they make hair look but I find the products leave my hair feeling dry, so what I do with the product is I add a capful of olive and avocado oil and it remedies that dry feeling I get on my hair with all the Bonita Afro bomb and big poppa gel.
Mielle products do this same thing to my hair. Looks AMAZING but feels soo horrible! Dry, stringy, and just awful. I’m returning all of their products I bought.
I was currently using Mielle Leave in and Curly smoothie. So I did a protein treatment today and seem like it worked and help my curls pop again..I am so confused 😕 and am learning..I am in the transitioning process from relaxed to natural..I am trying to figure this out..Pray for me people!
I don't really mind the straw feeling. Isn't that just a gel cast? lol I'm pretty sure that's what gel(those look like extreme gel curls😂😂) is supposed to do. You can break it if you want, but it'll just not last as long.
Just did a doux mousse original vs new bee line mousse and got wayyy better results because mines did the same thing last weekend. I adjusted, used all normal wash products including leave in - Mielle mint & Babasoo line. Wet each section with warm water, applied liberal mousse. Slight cast which I broke with Olaplex oil this morning and NOW ❤❤❤
I always thought I had to use black products for the best results, but I don’t! Wild. My black hairstylists creates her own vegan hair products with good quality ingredients. I’m going to give her products a try. I noticed her shampoo doesn’t have many cleansing agents only Apple cider(maybe that’s enough to gently clean the hair idk less could be better, I’ll just use a clarifying shampoo from time to time) .
Right. I now focus on "curly hair" products like Ouidad not "black hair" products specifically (these products often try to fix something that's not broken, that's why they don't often work well). And older products like Lustrasilk Curlmax work amazing and just fine.
It should, but it didn’t. It’s one thing to feel a bit of crunch for hold, but it’s another thing to feel stiff and dry crunch, even after misting it a lot.
@@BrittanyMia For everything, braids, twists outs, braid outs. I spray spritz water on my hair and use the leave I’m conditioner everyday, then I’ll put the grease on. I put the grease on every other day.
I used the Doux Crazy Sexy mousse without any leave in conditioner and it turned out pretty but it was so sticky and on wash day my hair matted up and it took me 4 days to detangle it. I lost so much hair. I am so afraid to try this product again. I had a lot of compliments but it felt like straw which was weird and hard to wash out. Never again 😢
It dries my hair and cause breakage Sadly I can’t use it.. I ordered the Camille Rose honey mousse My hair is short right now .. still learning even tho I’ve been natural 15 yrs

I don’t even do wash and go’s anymore because my hair is just crunchy and always puffs up 😂 doesn’t even last a week so I just braid it and wrap it with a scarf
Y’all sometimes products that make your hair feel like straw after it’s freshly dried is because it’s creating a cast varied over your hair allowing your hair to stay in place hence why your hair is so defined🥵🥵 but it might take a day or 2 to break the cast and then it’ll be soft and you’re able to feel the moisture under. My hair type is fine and semi smooth surface texture even though I’m a 4b guy. But normally I’d a product is super crunchy it just may take longer to break the cast cause ik my hair is moisturized under wether I used ecoslay banana cream deep conditioner or my aphogee provitamin water based leavein
I love a good gel cast. This is not that. The Bee Girl gel makes my hair feel like straw. Like the here will never be enough water and conditioner to bring it back to life. It looks great, but feels awful. Feels unhealthy. Feels like your hair will shatter if you touch it. Took a couple washes and deep conditioning sessions before it started and I feel hydrated again. Everybody’s hair is different. Some folks love it. My hair can’t tolerate it.
this is how we were with foundations talking about it ... will oxidise in two hours so it matches out skin tone😂😂😂😂. why should a product take a day or two to look and feel good?
The amount of water determines the hold. It was giving me a fluffy med hold at first and I hated it. I was using too much water. I prefer the hold you have. How much water did you use?
I love the product I think it’s a nice product it may feel like a straw feeling what I do for mines are used to renew our steamer I put a little oil on my palms of my hand and rub it through and it feels great this product is good I love it
You all have to remember the climate conditions. There's not a product out there that was created for these high temps. Pair your products with a heat serum (a sunscreen for the hair).
I think I agree with you. I live in a place with high humidity and I visited a dry climate for a few days. I felt the difference in my hair, so the care of it has to change.
I went back to grease and over time it messed up my hair curl definition and hydration level. I recently stop and my hydration level and curl definition is better
