I love bee girl custard I use it as a topper with uncle funky's daughter curly magic and I use it with camille rose honey hydrate leave in , no flaking and I get a great wash & go that gives me a great 10 days !
Bee Gurl by herself is def a no go, unless you live in a very humid climate lol. I understand the confusion and frustration of trying to find a base gel that she may pair well with. I use this custard as well and I can say that it pairs beautifully with The Doux's 808 Base Gel. I apply the 808 first, then follow up with Bee Gurl and I get very soft but defined curls and coils that last at least 7 days with minimal to no flaking. A couple things I would suggest during application: - these products work well in the shower. as a water locking gel, hair needs to be soaked through and allowed to foam to give desired results - emulsify the product in your hands-- scoop a small amount and rub between your palms; this helps with even product distribution and prevents overuse -lastly, air drying takes forever and allows the set to swell, so it won't dry the way you styled it, leading to frizz. It's best to use a hooded dryer or diffuse with a handheld one Hope some of those tips are helpful!
Thank u for this! I just tried it today and my hair is soooo dry now. I was gonna give up on it, but after reading your comment I will give it another try!
I used the Camille rose honey leave in under it. I think when it says (crunch and flake residue) they’re not saying it won’t have crunch, they’re saying it won’t have crunch residue which is like (jelly beads) it def works with either the bee girl mousse as a leave in or the honey leave in and your hair has to be soaking wet. It’s a water locking gel so you need to add enough water to where the product emulsify sand almost foams a bit. That way you know it adheres to your hair properly without too much crunch.
I loooove this feedback! Thank you so much 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 I'm def going to give it another chance using a leave-in product underneath and with my hair more wet.
Omg. Who tested this product. I gave away my Bee Girl yesterday because I used it once about six months ago and did not like it. I don’t remember that flaking, but I will definitely wash my hair the same day if I don’t like a product. Now I’m embarrassed that I gave it to someone. I hope it works for her. 😢😢😢
This is so relatable. Also after washing it out my hair did not clump and looked so fluffy and damaged. I’m worried about the ingredients in these products like keratin and silk amino acids. Going to detox my hair and switch products.
I used it with with UFD Curly magic and I got the last amount of flakes with that haha I also like it with the bee girl Mousse. It softens up the hair a lot and your hair isn't that crunchy!
Your hair looks just like mine! I just bought this custard and used it as a topper and my hair was super hard. I used Kinky Curly underneath. Thinking about trying UFD as the base next time but yeah. That hold was a lot harder than I expected lol
@@jacquelinescott8301 Thank you so much for your response, Jacqueline! Sorry you experienced that, I absolutely will steer clear. Never tried any of the line, TBH, I'll just steer clear of it altogether. I appreciate your candor. Blessings.💖
I use it with Camille Rose Honey Leave-in & Bond Bar Curl Cream. I get a little crunch, but no flakes. I also add olive oil after it dries and thrn diffuse.
I used it for the first time last weekend I will say the curls definitely last longer than any other product I've used, but it definitely makes your hair crunchy.
thank you for sharing your experience! This product definitely has amazing hold but I guess it takes mixing it with the right products to get less crunch (according to what I've seen in the comments)
I just recently used this product with UFD and The Doux's Mousse Def... surprisingly NO FLAKES! I know that is a lot with all the layering but to me it had a nice shine, firm hold and not hard but a mild crunch!! I definitely Like Mousse Def more than the Crazy Sexy Cool, and Bee Girl more than Big Poppa gel and UFD will always be my staple BASE GEL.
Nice! I'm glad you had great results. It's always a trial and error process with mixing products. I have yet to try UFD, but so many people talk about it that it's on my list. I appreciate you sharing xoxo
You're welcome! And thank YOU for sharing 🙏🏾 I would love to know which kind of product(s) you put under Bee Girl because I really want to give it another chance 😅
@@DrusillaShay hi! So, I’ve been using curl creams (Nature’s Little Secret Irish Moss something something, their okra styling gel which will give a much stronger hold, or the Camille rose aloe whipped butter gel). I style on wet or dry hair (mostly dry or stretched) with the curl cream/styler. Then when it’s dry, I section off and add the Bee Girl custard in sections…. Like a larger finger dollop spread between my palms and then applied over the section. Then I diffuse or air dry. This method gives me great definition!! I only discovered this one day because I used a curl cream and when it was dry I didn’t feel like it was going to last… so I pulled out the Bee Girl and now me and her have been best friends ever since! 🙃
@@ZenGemz hi there! Thank you so much for sharing this. This is super helpful. I normally get a little scared trying out different combos like that due to the possibility of flaking, BUT that's the only way you can discover what works. This has motivated me... I think I'll try the Doux's Cream product and Bee Girl together and see how that goes. I appreciate you xoxo

How did/do you feel about it, Jacqueline?
@@BL3SSed-Bliss Hated it, sorry to say. It made my hair so hard. I was so disappointed b/c I've used other products by the company.

Can you use this 4 a rod set or is the mousse better?
I would say the mousse is better for a rod set.
Might’ve use too much product!
