“Where my glasses 👓?” 😩😩 IDK why that tickled me.
Your hair is growing and flourishing. Love your content and consistency with dropping videos regular. 😊
Thank you so much!!
I was about to throw the 18:18 Bee Curl custard in the trash. Then I used Uncle funky's daughter curly magic as a bass gel and got the best wash and go ever. No crunch no hardness the definition was on point in my hair was fluffy moisturized for over 7 days.
Thanks for sharing. It definitely needs something under it that adds moisture or draws moisture to the hair. Glad you found something that works. 💛
Your face when you opened the custard 😩😩😫😫😂 = priceless.
😂
The camille rose honey hydrate as a leave in is a great combo. I also would consider the camille rose curl maker as a base gel under the custard. I would imagine the 808 base gel would also be a good option underneath. Also the custard is strictly a summer / humid weather product for me.
Thanks for the recommendations. I have all of those so we'll have to see which one I choose.🤔 Thanks for tuning in.
I’ve seen several videos featuring these products. Complaints about “rock hard”hold came from many that did not work on “wet” hair but damp and from some that used a LOT of product not realizing the power of the hold in this product. Your results are FIRE! For 3rd day, you could have gotten away with refreshing the style with some warm water and probably retwisting in large twists. Your hair is elongated, shiny, defined. Simply twisting instead of stretching with heat did the trick. I think you could definitely get away with using a leave in the next time underneath. Applying the foam first and then the gel definitely worked out for you. I haven’t tried these products yet but thank you for showing me another way to use these products that might help me achieve a successful style. Great review! Thx so much!
Thanks for tuning in and sharing your thoughts. I'm glad this video was helpful for when you decide to try the products. 💛
Thank you for the review. When you said "helmet head, " I nodded like crazy and laughed. Very strong hold. I didn't think a tornado could move my hair. I'll try it again with the mousse first.
And a leave-in. 😂
I had the same experience with these products, even when I used it over a leave in conditioner. I’ll try using less product next time.
Your hair came out beautiful. Your hair's dark tone and shine indicate that it was moisturized. I've used the custard alone (I received tons of compliments on its own), with Kinky Curly Knot Today and UFD. My best result was using the product by itself, then KCKT, and then with UFD. The key is to not use too much product. Using the custard alone, my day two hair was softer from the cast being broken by my scarf and sleeping on it. I saw even more definition upon wetting my hair on my next wash day so the right custard-to-water ratio is key.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience with the product. I agree that not using too much is key. My hair was dry even though it looked shiney so next time, I definitely want to use a leave-in to see how that works. I appreciate your comments and you tuning in.💛
Love the way that your hair turned out. Have not tried the custard before, but did try the mousse alone with very good results. Will try with the custard next time. Also thank you for the tip about stretching hair. I have never tried this method, but I can see that it really works well. Thanks for your content.
Thank you. I'm glad the video was helpful.
In an Amazon favorites video, You recommended a jar container with a pump. I just screw on the pump top onto the Bee Girl custard jar. It fits perfectly. Nice combo!
Oh wow! Thanks for reminding me of that; I have an extra one stored away.💛
Good afternoon, Rae! I too have tried both Custard and Mousse, separately. In my honest opinion. Your hair is going to be Crunchy and Dry with a leave in…. I went as far as putting Castor oil, which is Heavy!!! And Raw Shea Butter, before applying the custard. A little goes a long way. I got at least 20 uses out of it! (I have a Taper cut).
I also used it when my hair was longer… Helmet Head! 🤷🏽♀️
I did see a RUclipsr, use it with The Camille Rose Honey Hydration Leave in. It seems to have soften her hair. I will be giving it a try…
Personally I like it, because it doesn’t have glycerin. Which my hair hates! But over all, you are going to be left with a serious hold!
Hope that helps! 🥰
That does help. Thanks for sharing your experience with us; I'm sure it is going to help a lot of other people as well. 💛
@@NaturalRaeRae Hello, Rae! I just wanted to give you an update. I purchased The Camille Rose Honey Hydration Leave In.
It was a NO, for me. It made my hair feel greasy; like the Camille Rose Curl Maker.
However, I did purchase the Aloe Whipped Gel, (Camille Rose). I used it
years ago. The instructions said it can be used alone or as a leave in.
I got better results using it with Honey Bee Custard…. My hair was soft to touch! However, after it dried. It was still crunchy.
I know you did a tutorial using this product. If you decide to give it a try.
Let me know your thoughts!
Hope this was helpful!🥰
This combo I’ll definitely try but with a leave in. I live in the Caribbean so I need a gel that has a holddd but still makes my hair bouncy and pillowy soft after the cast breaks.
Great videooo Rae ♥️
Thank you! You probably would have great results living in the Caribbean. If you try it, please come back and let us know how it turned out. Thanks for tuning in.💛
I'd like to see NLS leavein or cream and the BEEGIRL custard. Great review. ❤
Thanks for tuning in.
I use the camille rose honey leave in under the bee girl custard and my hair is still hard and crunchy but once my hair sits for awhile like maybe the next day lol my hair starts to soften up and feels soft on its on. I only use that leave in with it and i love it. I would never use this on its on, too hard
Thanks for sharing your combo with us. 💛
Try the Treluxe Untie the Knot leave in or Camilla Rose Honey Hydrate leave in with custard. Works great.
Oh thank you!
@@NaturalRaeRae When I say works great I mean those leave ins were able to be used and blend well. I also used the mousse with those leave ins which made the cast less hard and the custard tolerable. Before that it was too dry and hard.
I live in a similar climate to you and I’ve used the beegirl gel on top of curly magic and it worked so well for me! I’ve used olaplex 9 as a leave in and it works so well! Less drying time too. I have tighter curls and more matte surface texture and the bee girl gave me some shine. I’ve also tried it with the 808 base gel, the crazy, sexy, curl mousse and bee girl on top and it was so bomb.
Thanks for sharing. I do have the 808 base gel, so maybe I'll try that with it next time.
I like the The Doux line just not the custard leaves my hair a little too hard, crunchy. The big poppa is my go to. Thanks for the video
You are so welcome! I like the Big Poppa, as well. Do you use a leave-in with the Big Poppa? If so, which one?
Definitely loved the definition! It turned out great and looked good on day 3 but I understand the dry feeling. I used big poppa and the Doux mousse and it made my hair dry too. I washed it quick. I’ll keep trying combos, and will watch out for yours 😊
Thanks for tuning in and sharing your experience. Let me know if you find a combo that works.💛
Your hair is always gorgeous. Even on third day hair. I wish I could do wash and go. You make it look so easy but you've trained your hair. I don't believe wash and gos are for high porosity hair. I tried it once and it was a sad situation.
Thank you! I know a lot of high porosity girlies who do wash and gos. It takes practice, but it's possible. Thanks for tuning in.💛
I think your wash n go looks really good. I totally understand about it not feeling as moisturized. That's been my concern with trying mousse/gel combos.
Thanks! My mousse/gel combos are usually pretty moisturized, but THIS HERE... this was a different beast. You talking dry, dry. Anywho, maybe if I use a leave-in, it will be better. Thanks for tuning in.
I’ve never used the custard but I’ve used the big poppa with the Camille Rose honey hydrate as my leave in and I worked very well. I had no flaking, no crunch, it was very shiny and moisturized.
Thanks for sharing that combo with us!💛
Wash and go looked great! I have used the bee girl custard with a leave-in, no mousse though, it was pretty crunchy. I was definitely heavy-handed however, so I know that contributed to the crunchiness. Thanks for sharing this combo!
Thank you! Which leave-in did you use?
@@NaturalRaeRae I don’t even remember. But I do remember the crunchiness.
The third day looked great too.
Thanks!
hi rae 🤗
the results LOOK good, but im also a stickler for how my hair FEELS and it being moisturized.
i don't mind too much hold, but not helmet head. the stickiness may be a learning curve for me.
definitely want to see you try the custard again with a leave-in that may provide more moisture and limit the crunch/cast. tfs
Hi Healy! Stay tuned for Pt. 2 when I use leave-in. Thanks for tuning in
I was tickled to see this was the next video you put out. And that look on your face when you opened it, I was cracking up at your reaction, when you opened the custard.
Yeah, I wasn't expecting that consistency at all. 😂
First day hair looks great to me. I like 3rd day hair but I understand you washing it because it felt dry. Though it might look good, it might not feel good. Sometimes I stretch more days because my hair still looks good, but feels dry. That’s a no go I guess. Tfs.
You can stretch it, but you would need to add some moisture. The problem with me adding moisture is that it was cause stickiness and more buildup that I didn't want to deal with. Depending on what products I use, I will sometimes scrunch in a hair milk to add moisture and give me a few more days. Do what you need to do but just know, dryness causes breakage.
@@NaturalRaeRae Thanks for the tip.
I use the Crazy Sexy Mousse with a leave-in (Taliah Waajid The Great Detangler or Aunt Jackie's Quench) and it comes out very well. Good shine, definition, and holds for several days. I used the Bee Girl custard with a leave-in and it looked nice - good definition and shine - but it was hard as a rock. I couldn't even get rid of my parts because the hair was stuck.😂 I've never had that happen with a product before. I don't see the need to try the mousse and custard together. No need to use two products when one alone (the mousse) works so well on my hair.
Understood. Thanks for sharing your experience with the products. At least we know that two leave-ins work well with the mousse, in case anyone was interested. 💛
I’m using the four mousse now for twists ❤. It’s enough for my fine hair
Thanks for sharing
I actually love the crazy sexy curl mousse more than most def. The crazy sexy curl mousse has a better grip / tack on my hair
A lot of people say that, but when i did a side by side with the mousse def, they were pretty similar for me. The mousse def was more moisturizing in my opinion. Thanks for sharing your experience with us and for watching!💛
I'm with you on the foam first. Preps the curls for gel sculpting. My go to combo is foam enbba foam.
I haven't tried enbba yet. What foam do you use with it?
@@NaturalRaeRae Any foam will do for the way I use it, I like the doux honey foam results but design essentials avocado foam is also great and I can find it in a 32oz.
I really like these results! I like me a crunch for the definition. I have this gel but not the mousse. I have yet to open it though. TFS your experience 😊
No problem. I hope you enjoy the custard.
Rae I can see the hold on your hair but I think it turned out good 😊
Thank you!
Thank you so much Rae for this review 🥰💙.. your hair did look really nice 💙.. hope AJ is doing well 🥰
Thank you and AJ is doing well. 💛
@@NaturalRaeRae 🤗
Hi, Rae, thank for the review.
No problem 😊 Thanks for tuning in.
Love your results. Thanks for reviewing the gel.
Thank you!
I've been seeing these products but never picked them up great review. your hair looks good.
Thank you!
@@NaturalRaeRae you're welcome, but i do see on 3rd day your hair does look dry, i think if you use a leave in and oil then these products it my give you a different turn out.
Rae, this was a top-notch video. Thanks for the tutorial. Your hair looks great. After this video, I am closer to trying the gel. I have the leave-in and gel but not the mousse. I will buy the mousse and combine them all to see if the combination will prevent the hard crunch.
Thank you! Do you like the leave-in to this line?
@@NaturalRaeRae I haven't used it as yet. I bought it to try it with the gel, but after the reviews, I am apprehensive because I am a twist-out girl. I don't need that mega hold. When I use it, I will let you know.
When our internet nephew calls, definitely answer 😂😂😂😂Loved the combination. Let’s see it with a leave in.
Definitely!!!

Thank you! Now is the time to try the products if you can get them for half off, but I hope you watched the entire video. The gel is a strong hold, so if you like that, you should be okay, but if you don't, this may not be the gel for you. Make sure you use a leave-in, as well. Good luck and let me know how you like it. Thanks for tuning in.💛
I want to try this line.
Thank you for the detailed review Rae😀
My pleasure 😊 Thanks for watching!
Love it natural girl too❤❤
Hey Rae hair came out nice and l will have to try products enjoyed video 😻
Thank you
I find the doux products to be drying (at least the mousse def)... I have not tried other products for fear that it would be drying... I do think the definition is good, I also don't like my hair to feel hard or crunchy.
I don't like hard, crunchy hair either, that's one reason I try to style on wet hair. I do think this gel is hard holding so using a leave-in is going to be a necessity for me going forward. Thanks for tuning in and sharing your experience. 💛
I was not a fan of the leave-in in this line. My hair was quite dry. My daughter uses the custard with the Camile Rose honey mousse, and her hair comes out soft with a lot of definition.
Thanks for sharing that combo. I think I have that mousse; I may give it a try.
Tried this with the TGIN leave in and had to wash it right out. Didn't "clump" at all. Just frizzed and started IMMEDIATELY hardening under the dryer. Trash.
Sorry the products didn't work for you, but thanks for sharing your experience.
Looks good!
Thank you!
I haven't had the chance yet to use it,but I have the big poppa gel I just did my hair today with the creme of nature flax leave in rinse out conditioner.will let you know how it was lol
Yes, please share. 💛
@NaturalRaeRae OK I'm on day 3 n I still have moisture, surprisingly 😅 .I have at least 80-85% of definition left.its not bad
@@brandonspriggs7717 Yay! keep me posted. I've never tried the flax leave-in. Let me know if it's worth a purchase.
Cast or not, your hair looks great.
Thank you!
Hi Rae nice wash and go❤
Thank you 😊
Hair looks nice Rae! Side note, how do you dry the back of your hair to prevent it blowing up and out of place into dryer? I always seem to get friz back there when I use alligator clip etc.
Thank you!. My hair doesn't blow up in the dryer. You probably have a dryer that blows your hair around; if you do, I would suggest that you put a net on your hair to hold it in place. (Example: amzn.to/3WMmnNk) Hope that helps.💛
@@NaturalRaeRae Awww, Thank you so much Rae for responding and your recommendation. Yeah, my dryer definitely blows the back /top of my hair around. Going to order the mesh. 😘
“Look at that tail. Look at that tail!” 😆😆😆😆😆
😂
Can you apply additional honey and aloe to the hair?
I wouldn't do that, but that's just me. You can try it if you want and let us know how it goes. Thanks for tuning in.
Hi Rae tfs and your hair looks great on day one but hate that it’s dry and you don’t like the way it feels and the frizziness and per your comments dull looking. Hopefully you get better results with a leave in.
Do you have to use a heat protector when drying your hair?
I don't use a heat protector, but it can't hurt. Do what you think is best for your strands.💛
Beautiful curls
Thank you!!
Where can I find hair clips like those?
amzn.to/3WTJ2aR and they're always listed in my description box.
Sorry for once again questioning you about your hair, but why do you say you're low porosity? In the video, you stated that your hair will dry out quickly with nothing on it. That's what porous hair does.
I watch lots of naturals on YT and am trying to get an understanding of why certain things, like the claim of being low porosity, have taken hold. Hope no offense is taken.
No offense taken. My hair takes forever to get completely wet and it takes forever to dry (i.e. air dry (at least 2 days) and sitting under a dryer (at least an hour or more)). When my hair has nothing on it at all except water, then it will start to frizz out quicker than if it had a product on it sealing in the water. So when I say start to dry, it doesn't mean my hair is dry to the point of if you touch it, it feels dry and brittle like it isn't moisturized, I mean dry out where it loses definition (ends start to frizz) and I have to add water before my styling products to get the definition back so the styler can lock in the curl pattern. Water evaporates more quickly when there are no other products on the hair to help seal in the moisture and keep the definition. I hope that makes since. Also, once my hair has the moisture in it, it lasts that's why I rarely have to remoisturize my hair or use a lot of oils and butters to try to seal in moisture. Thanks for the question and I hope I cleared things up.
@@NaturalRaeRae I swear that RUclips is auto-deleting comments. Anyway, thank you for explaining.
