I met Alan once at a con. I watched him treat everybody with charm and courtesy--THOUSANDS of us. He is an incredibly underrated treasure. Oh yeah, AND he's amazingly talented.
Same. I was already a fan, and I can forgive a lot of borderline rude behavior at cons. I'm sure that's not much fun for celebs. But he seemed to be genuinely enjoying it. I wandered by his table when nobody was around and we talked for like 10 minutes. He's pretty much the same guy in person that you see in these interviews, and in a lot of his characters too. Criminally under-rated, I'm so happy that Resident Alien is doing so well for him. I mean the Disney roles help pay the bills I'm sure, but it's probably a different feeling to be the lead on a show and see it blow up like that. Just wish it had been Firefly.
I also met him at a con and he gave everyone who asked a question a personal gift from his home (just random junk he was trying to get rid of). I still have the bag of mini golf pencils that look like sticks of dynamite 😂
@@jus10_mar10 OMG... He was just at my Local Comic Con and he did the same thing! He called it his "Bag of Crap".... There were A LOT of old Hotel room Key Cards.... he'd give each person who got to ask a question one of the items from his "Bag of Crap" and autograph the item... when he handed one of the audience members one of the key cards he'd tell them to go to that hotel, find his old room and wait for him! haha.... but then a young kid asked a question and he was like "Wait... How old are you? *shields his eyes from the stage lights to try and see the person better, realizes it is a youngster* Ahhhh! No! I can't give you a key card! Something else!" and then dived into his Bag of Crap and pulled out a paper that had director's notes on it for one of his voice acting roles and signed the paper. lol. He was fantastic. Gina Torres was at the Con too, and she popped in to give Alan a hug and wave to everybody before she left the stage... 😍🥰 Wash & Zoe were together again!
Yesss.. he stayed extra long at Phoenix comic con one year. We had him sign a tucker and dale photo. We were one of the only ones that picked it. He laughed and goes "COLLEGE KIDS!". The man is a national treasure
I really don't know how Alan doesn't get more recognition. Dude not only does both, live-action AND voice acting, but the range of characters he can do going from absolutely hilarious to psychopathic and chilling. I can't even tell which one he is better at, because he's so incredible at both. My favorites are Sonny in I, Robot and K-2SO in Rogue One.
Hilarious in that! Paul bettany was hilarious in that too and Mark whose last name I can't remember! Heath Ledger was great. Charming noble funny. The entire casting was amazing for that!
He is so good in everything! Check out the movie "Serenity"!! It's a continuation of the tv series "Firefly" so, if you have time, watch "Firefly" first. That said, watching the series is not a requirement to watch the film. The film does a great job of setting up the world so, you can watch it even if you've never seen the series (speaking from experience). Either way, the movie & series are amazing and Alan Tudyk is fantastic as Wash.
Neither do Cam Ops. A lot of times they're lugging around a huge camera on a steady rig and expected to hold onto it until the set wraps for the day. Just like with voice actors, these people remain faceless. Only difference is that you can recognize a voice from movie to movie if you listen carefully and know who the actor is. The camera man remains unknown. Just like the badass roadies at concerts!
My wife and I have a friend "in the business" who wears Hawaiian shirts everywhere! His birthday dinner, Christmas dinner at Mom-in-Laws, and to his recent screening!
Alan Tudyk is a treasure. I remember him from Firefly/Serenity, and, of course, Knight's Tale. He is a tremendously funny actor. Everything he does is hilarious. I love seeing him guest on "The Rookie", and Nathan guest on "Resident Alien".
DOLLHOUSE. A show with a huge amount of promise that I think suffered a bit from having supporting actors with more range than the lead actress. His turn as Alpha was so menacing. You wouldn't immediately think of Alan Tudyk for a frightening character but he was amazing. Seriously, look it up.
Incredible. One of my favorite things is to watch voice actors doing their characters’ voices in person! Seeing the person behind the talent is so cool!
Steve the Pirate in Dodgeball. Pilot Wash in Firefly. Resident Alien's Harry. Those are my fav roles he plays. Had no idea he was the voice behind so many characters.
I love Alan Tudyk in everything I’ve ever seen him in, but Tucker and Dale vs. Evil (2010) is by far my favourite. It’s one of my favourite movies, period. My husband and I saw it probably 12 years ago, and it still comes up to this day when we’re talking about our favourite comedies. I HIGHLY recommend checking it out. Tyler Labine also does an amazing job as the co-lead, Dale. They have fantastic chemistry together. I’ve already seen it four times, but I think I just talked myself into another viewing this weekend 😂😂
I’m another big fan of Tucker and Dale vs. Evil! It always has me rolling around laughing, and I’m not the usual age demographic for horror-comedy (though I’d say it excels its genre). I recommend it to all my friends.
"Where's my watch?? *looks at other wrist* Oh!!" 😂 My favorite bit of trivia: during one take while he's high and looking in the mirror, Alan improvised "What's wrong with my face, I look like a MUPPET!" Director Frank Oz, one of the original Muppeteers (Fozzie, Piggy, Yoda, etc.) immediately shouted "CUT!" and called it a low blow. That take isn't in the movie, but it is in the end credits for Alan Tudyk's name card!
Strange World he was both the narrator opening the movie as well as one of the two radio hosts talking about the state of the world when it transitions to the current time, both of which I really enjoyed because that kind of old timey pulp adventure announcer voice is always such a fun one to listen to.
Alan Tudyk!!!!❤❤❤ One of my favorites!!!! Amazing in A Knights Tale!!! FIREFLY!!!! Dollhouse! ConMan!!!Resident Alien! That doesn't even include his voice acting! OMG just so many things to even try and list!!! LOVE HIM!!!
Alan's expression at 3:40 after the interviewer said he'd made a career out of it (voices in animation). I could only imagine him thinking "So you haven't seen any of the many movies I've been in? Or Resident Alien??"
There's two more Disney characters, which was his best IMO. He was Ludo and King River in Star VS the Forces of Evil, and he always stole the show in whatever scenes he was in.

For me resident alien, is his best role.
