Take a look for yourself and you just might be surprised.

Next of Ken Subbed!
Cool list but I wish you added his performance in "Death at a Funeral", he was amazing.
We did. It's #5.
Oh, I'm sorry, I don't know how I managed to miss it. I take back what I said, the list is perfect.
It's all good. You can make atone by subscribing. *wink wink nudge nudge*
I feel like playing a lot of these second seat roles has given him the freedom to have fun doing what he loves while mastering his craft. He is absolutely killing it in "Resident Alien"
Yes!
its like they gone tudyk and thought "hmm" what show can we make around him
@@andrewjones9547 Well Resident Alien is based off a comic series. It says so right in the intro.
@@psychosanity8164yeah, but the show is nothing like the comic.
An absolute joy to watch on that show! However, I'll always know him as Steve the Pirate. Garrrr!
Hiring him to voice the chicken in Moana was definitely the best possible way they could've used their budget.
Pua shouldve gone on the trip though
Matt and Trey hired George Clooney and Jay Leno to voice animals in their early episodes of South Park.
they couldn't have just hired an actual chicken for the role?
@@philippinevlogsandgamingpl7671 no, a chicken could never learn those lines or perform them on cue, they have stage fright, that is why we call them.....chickens.
Or tuk tuk in "Rana and the last dragon"
Bizzare how he gets those roles.
Alan has been my choice for a live action Joker ever since Heath Ledger died. I think he would kill it.
damn that idea is inspired!
Martin Axe You got your wish.
THANK YOU. YES!
I sent a letter to WB and DC recommending him to be cast as Joker a while back.
Well he’s playing The Joker in DC’s animated Harley Quinn movie. No better choice to take over Hamil’s mantel.
@@CynicalCharmer *Series and he iz also playing Mr.Nobody
Loved him in so many of these, but I have to say, his starring role in "Resident Alien" is the role he was born to play. He's spot-on and believable in a show that would have been forgettable if anyone else had starred. With him in the role, it's amazing.
I'm absolutely smitten with Resident Alien and find it to be one of the most unique and genuine shows out there currently and ADORE that he is who plays the main char bc how well he embodies the role!
Yes he's excellent in Resident alien and now, after watching this, I remember him in Firefly. Was pretty upset when they ended that show.
He's made Resident Alien one of my favourite current shows. Great performance.
Alan's kind of a one-man Justice League on his own, having voiced Superman (Justice League: War), Green Arrow (Injustice/Young Justice), and The Flash (Batman: The Brave and The Bold). He's possibly my favorite character actor of all time, he's so good with accents in particular.
He also voiced a lot of characters in the harley quinn series
And Mr.Nobody in Doom Patrol
Imagine a Alan Tudyk Batman.
I absolutely love him. I think his role as Wat in A Knights Tale is incredibly awesome. And it's such a great mix-up with all tose actors in that film...
I have legit watched the film since I was a kid and because of it I thought he was a ginger...
I will give you such a fonging!
Wat to Jeffrey Chaucer.
Classic!
@@danieljob3184 - pain! Lot's of pain!
Wat was my first Tudyk. Been a huge fan ever since.
Tucker and Dale vs Evil is the BEST
I can remember avoiding that film for the longest time because it sounded like another stupid horror comedy.
Then I saw it had Alan in it and I decided to give it a chance. A bit more gore than I usually like, but so freakin' funny.
@ bob dole Same
Bob Dole same here man
I've watched it several times and laugh every time.
Tanner Hillegas agreed
He is an genuinely great actor. It seems like the actual great actors get few accolades and they all just go to actors who play certain types of roles.
I agree. I think it's because the great actors are more versatile and able to play a greater variety of roles. The "stars" take on the leading roles that audiences want to see them in and that will make money for the producers.
I loved his part in Dollhouse. He's introduced and you think he's playing Wash again but then he flips it 180 perfectly.
Yep, Dollhouse was very underrated.
ntm4 100% agree. He was brilliant there.
That freaked me out.
I was gonna say, no Alpha? really? I mean if you're going to include something like Heihei and keep that off I think there's something wrong with this picture.
I agree, Alpha was definitely the best portrayal of his acting chops.
anybody here watching this shortly after resident alien?
I am so glad this video exists. I couldn't agree that Alan Tudyk is truly underrated. Such a flexible guy with perfect comedic timing, and completely uninhibited acting. It adds perfect dose of comedic relief to every movie and it really adds a new dimension to all these blockbuster films. Such a fan. In the scenes he is in he does steal it completely.
Seeing that he was in all these big movies (in roles I didn't even realize ), perhaps he isn't underrated! Maybe he just hasn't had that breakout role yet. (though, in my mind, Tucker & Dale and Suburgatory have left quite an impression.
I seen his face and voice in a lot of things. He one of those actors you see a lot but no one ever talk about him which sucks
Adam Batey #5 is interesting because the rest of the cast is British. Someone who didn't know Alan's previous roles would have assumed he's British, too.
More Wash needed. Not having the leaf in the wind speech is criminal.
I actually have some production notes for a second Serenity film, in one scene River has to do some risky flying to get the ship away and closes her eyes for a moment...
Then opens them and says, "I am a leaf on the wind - watch how I soar!" And proceeds to do some vintage Wash maneuvers that even scares Mal a little!
I adore Alan Tudyk. I would never take him for granted! But it's true that other people do.
His accent in The Knights Tale is one I would love to use on a daily basis...especially at work.
"it's called a lance..... hellloo.."
They should have used the "i will fong you" scene for this video :D
Regarding the Firefly scene, I can't help but think "No, I didn't see you playing with your dolls again, sir!"
thexalon omg!! I love space balls!
Hahaha same!
Me too! Two of my very favorite pieces of work right there, Firefly and Spaceballs. Throw in The Princess Bride, and you've got three series/movies I have memorized and what I watch the most. :p Nearly everything made today (except Resident Alien :p ) is garbage.
Serenity: "Oh God Oh God we're all going to die?"
WHO'S FLYING THIS THING??
We Gotta Go to the Crappy Town Where I'm a Hero!
I'm a leaf on the wind!
Watch how I soar
If they let Firefly have more than one place they'd have had ALL the places... except maybe one Tucker and Dale vs. Evil spot... somewhere below 10th place.
Wait... he played duke weaselton in zootropolis and Duke Of Weseltoun in Frozen?! That's gotta be an Easter egg
It definitely is an Easter Egg. He is the John Ratzenberger of Disney Animation Studies because he's in all of the Disney Animation movies! The Duke of Weselton was jokingly called the Duke of "Weasel Town in Frozen, so they made his character in Zootopia called Duke Weasleton in reference to that lol.
@Audrey Price it’s mad trippy finding stuff like that out
@@barbaro267 that’s brilliant
Definitely an Easter egg. Zootopia hid several Frozen references and the Duke of Weaseltown ... Weselton ... Weaselton ... was one of them. :)
He is a leaf on the wind.
ztslovebird watch how I sore
ztslovebird still too soon
"Define interesting." "Oh God Oh God, we're all gonna die?"
I don't wanna explode!
Who's flying this thing?
Goddamn that man has some classics under his belt. I wish you would've gone with the clip from Dodgeball that introduces Steve though, that shit is priceless. Solid video though, and it's great to see a guy like Alan get a shout out!
WakkaWakkaGaming I *loved* Steve the Pirate!
i would say his voice acting is on point never knew it was him
Definitely one of the most underrated actors! He always brings the characters he portrays to an amazing level! I'm excited to see that he finally has a lead on his own TV show... Which is quite excellent!
Had no idea he was Sonny from I, Robot or King Candy from Wreck it Ralph
IMDB is a great tool that's been around for a while ;)
He killed it in the movie death at a funeral
I saw what you did there! 👍😁
I love that scene they showed and the bit with the wrought iron chicken sculptures AND when he locks himself in the loo
Alan Tudyk is king.
How is Alpha from 'Dollhouse' not in the top 5?
irishinnish1 was asking myself the same thing, that performance really drove home what range he has.
Medicinal carrots
I came for Disney. Especially King Candy. If I didn't know who Jim Cummings was, I would say that Alan Tudyk is the gem of Disney voice-acting.
Met him at Fan Expo in Toronto last year. Nicest guy ever.
I was watching it thinking Firefly better be number 1
Yeah, but how was he "underrated" as an actor in Firefly? Everybody loves Wash!
MrJacobst me too
Curse this sudden yet inevitable video
This video's gonna be interesting...
Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die?
Seeing that little Firefly segment brought back to me everything I felt when I first watched Firefly. Was so baffled by the opening scene - was so unlike anything Joss Whedon I'd seen up till then and I was totally lost. And then they cut to this scene - I was even more lost but I broke down in laughter so it was all good
RIP Wash 😭
IF HE DIDN'T DIE IN THE SERIES IT DIDN'T COUNT.
YOU HEAR ME?
IT. DIDN'T. COUNT.
He was a leaf on the wind.
@tymki EXACTLY!! didn't. motherfucking. count!!!
I always stop the movie right before he "dies" im in denial and de nile is just a riwer... I mean, I was in a riwer once... I mean not River... that was but a dream...
The scene from Death at a Funeral where he is talking to the toilet paper kills me every single time.
Yes!!!!!
This was great but where was Dollhouse!?
That's what I was looking for.
I love Alan Tudyk ! He's hilarious. My husband and I both get a kick out of him.
This needs to be remade, so you can add "Resident Alien"
Other than What we do in The Shadows my favorite dark comedy show.
"I am a leaf on the wind... Watch how I soar…"
ive had a weird crush on him since he was steve the pirate! :0
After seeing Resident Alien I can't help but think that he would have been an INCREDIBLE Martian Manhunter
where was Alpha?!
truly a great underrated actor
and we shall call it.. this land lol priceless
I have loved this man's work since he became my favourite character in A Knight's Tale. This dude is so funny and wonderfully talented...can make you laugh and cry all within the same scene if he so desired. He really needs more recognition.
i find it hilarious that in 2017, the screen grab from zootopia is from a cam copy of the film...
I’m here bc he’s going to be Mr. Nobody on Doom Patrol. I wasn’t sure who he was but now I’m REALLY excited to see him as my favorite Dadaist supervillain
Missed Alpha from Dollhouse. A++ performance with that character.
He's an incredible voice actor.
Transformers is when i truly fell in love with him! Now i can't get enough! Pray that they keep making "Resident alien" Harry is a treasure and Alan deserves an Emmy!❤❤❤
What about dollhouse
tyler solomon exactly!!! dollhouse never gets considered. and it was awesome!!!
I find that he plays an excellent bad guy. His character in Dirk Gently season 2 is fucking amazing.
don't forget. TV exec. in "knocked up".. we need tighter. not losing weight just tighter!
on the commentary they said that was all him!
loved him playing the droid in last star. wars film.
What the faaaa... ...aaar out! I had no idea Sonny from I, Robot was Alan Tudyk. That makes me want to watch it for the 50th time. Love that movie so much.
Tucker and Dale is one of my favorite movies. Love both of the guys in it, and both are grossly underrated
This man is brilliant. His role is Death at a Funeral makes me laugh till I cry.
One of the most versatile actors out there. Not only live action, but his excellent voice over work as well.
He does a great job at whatever he does.
I absolutely LOVED him in 28 Days! And I knew he did a lot of voices, but WOW! And lastly, I would say his role as Alpha from Dollhouse may have been his best bc he brilliantly covered the spectrum of characters on that one. Great Video!
He crushes everything he does. A true professional.
I love him so much. So many roles I didn't even know. So cool.
Wash from firefly was my favorite, man I miss that show! 🥺😭
There's no stopping the amount of pure talent this man has. It's effortless for him to do literally anything he chooses in any endeavor. I freaking love this guy.
He was also Mr. Priest in Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency and he was scary AF
This man is such a chameleon, he can do so much.
Neurodivergent genius
Now I might not agree on the choises or the general order of this list, but something we definetly can agrre about is that he ALWAYS underrated! One of the best actors there is! Wish the big companies would realise that and put him in more deserving roles!
Wat from A Knight's Tale is one of my favorite movie characters ever; I quote him almost daily
hi , Alan was great in JUSTIFIED as a hit man for the Detroit mob
"Can a robot turn a canvas into a beautiful masterpiece?" "Can you?" Destroyed in seconds.
The first movie I saw him in was A Knight's Tale when I was 15 years old, and I thought, "that's a funny British actor." 3 years later I found out that he was the voice of Sonny and, in fact, American. The range of this man's talents is so wide...he is honestly my favorite actor. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the day he is to be cast in the leading role in a timeless film that will make the rest of the world see the greatness I see in his potential
I knew what clip was going to be at number 1 before I even clicked on the video.
I watched this video and at around number 18 I decided that Firefly needed to be number one. That is my favorite show of all time! I appreciate that someone feels that he was underrated in that show
"I'm a leaf on the wind... Watch how I so-"
Oh, fucking God damn it ;-;;
One of my favorite actors. Always a pleasure to see him in the credits.
Steve the Pirate.
1:48 "know what rhymes with java? LAVA!"
kills me every time.
he is just that voice and creative that noone else can be, Mel Blanc 2020
Garrrrr...Ken?
Like half of these are cartoons. It's fair to say that the animators responsible are the underrated actors.
I thought his role as Ben Chapman in the move 42 was pretty good. He his himself so well in role that I didn't even know it was him for a couple years.
Well, that's your opinion. I happen to disagree, but I'm not gonna hate you for it.
Nah, I've seen a few. Haha
He definitely played the antagonist well. In fact, he said that even though saying racist lines made him physically nauseous, he carried on.
Really? I never knew that.
“There were some scenes, the scenes where I was just really race-bating Jackie, those scenes were very hard,” he says. “And they put me in a really bad mood. And then I went home, I realised that I was in this terrible mood, basically taking my work home with me.”
www.hypable.com/exclusive-alan-tudyk-talks-becoming-ben-chapman-for-42/
His name attached to anything has become another "I'll watch that" standard for me, much like Johnny Depp's has been for decades.
A Knight's Tale is such a classic, I must have watched it at least 10 times always makes me laugh.
He makes me think of Danny Kaye.
Loved Danny Kaye! One of the few "do everything" performers -- sing, dance, comedy, drama, as a lead or supporting performer, or the host of a show. He was also famous for his long-time support for UNICEF, and he was privately famous among his friends for hosting dinner parties where he would cook asian food.
Alan Tudyk is amazingly flexible as an actor, but I can't recall seeing him dance or sing in any of his roles.
Loved that you had my favorite line from Tucker and Dale vs. Evil! I feel like some of his acting from dollhouse should have been included. He was such a scary villain, do different than what I'm used to!
He was also a badass mob hitman in the TV show Justified with Timothy Olyphant. COMPLETELY threw me with that guest starring role!
"I'll provide the finger sammiches!"
"Curse your sudden, but inevitable betrayal!" Alan Tudyk is a god of his craft!
Tucker and Dale is one if my favorite movies of all time.
Very good tribute. Such a great actor. Didn't realize he was also a voice actor in so many movies.
his role in the short lived newer "v" series was pretty good too.
What about Alpha?
If anyone hasn't seen it, his role in season 2 of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency is pretty damn great!
Steve the pirate! Aaaaarrrrgh!
"Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!"
I use that quote every single time i play a board game and someone backstabs me...
just now seeing this, and Alan Tudyk's new show Resident Alien coming out with him in the lead role! Yes! he certainly is underrated and deserves a lot more credit!
He is " nobody "
As soon as I saw the title, I not only knew what #1 would be, but I knew exactly which scene it was going to be.
Which really says everything about that scene
What of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Angency, he was smashing in that!
Right? I watched expecting to see Mr. Priest
Tucker & Dale vs Evil is the most underrated movie on the planet. Change my mind.
Great actor! Thanks for the video!
I have only seen him in one movie, Death at a Funeral. In it he is going to a funeral where he must meet his fiancé’s family. He is extremely nervous to meet them so his fiancé gives him what they think is a sedative. But it is really a psychedelic. When it takes hold it is one of the funniest scenes i have seen in my 74 years! I have been checking out everything I see with him since then. Tremendously talented man! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I wanted Wash as number 1 and you did not disappoint! Ty
