Same here. Found in my recomended. Maybe, I think it may have to be his new TV show being an alien? Resident Alien. Alien is a pretty good actor! ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Agreed, but tbh I didn't realize some of his roles I liked, were even him. I have a feeling Resident Alien searches have something to do with this hitting recommended again.
I'm here in 2024 and just seeing this. Just watched one where he was reading lines from his movies, in the voice of the character AND he had to name the movie. Brilliant guy and love him on Resident Alien!
I will watch any show with Alan Tudyk, just because he is in it. His work plays a fantastic range from Alpha in Dollhouse to Tucker in Tucker & Dale. There is always an edge of humor in the range of his character.
My introduction to Alan Tudyk was 28 Days. The way he gestures at his business after exclaiming "Oh my god, look at my package!" just kills me every gorram time.
I see now there are a few movies I need to check out! Alan Tudyk is at the top of my list of brilliant actors. Currently I'm watching Resident Alien. If he doesn't win an award for his role in that, I will be shocked.
Its on SYFY don't get to attached ?? But yes its Brilliant ! I watched the 1st Episode then wouldn't watch anymore until I forced my wife to join me and she loved it !!!
I love this interview. I especially love he mentioned that A Knights Tale was his most recognizable movie to people. I love that movie. I also love that Casper still talks about killing space bugs. It’s so refreshing to see actors lean into the roles they played and talk about them so favorably. And not say oh that movie and try to not talk about it. People love him for that movie and he respects that.
I met Casper and Denise Meyer last year at a con, CVD was not only embracing his most well known role, but he was wearing a Starship Troopers shirt. I had both of them sign my 30x40 UK poster, and sign it big. Both wrote great inscriptions.
What a great interview! Alan Tudyk is rarely so forthcoming; he tends to dodge questions that are too personal. I love how genuine he is here. Wash's death was one of the most traumatic character deaths for me, ever. The way Alan describes an audience reaction during the scene is so accurate. It's brilliantly done; a hero's death without fanfare, almost overlooked in the battle. Even now, years after first seeing Firefly and Serenity, I'll turn to my husband out of the blue and say, "They killed Wash!" I think half the grief and trauma is for Zoe's heartache.
I got to meet Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillian at Dragon a number of years back. I got them to sign my Firefly comic and was so nervous I forgot to open the book to their character pages. Alan drew an arrow to the cockpit of the Firefly and wrote "I am here". Even his signature is hilarious.
22:55 I'm SO GLAD THEY KEPT THAT ONE IN!! It's so perfectly in-character, and yet, because it's been used so often, you still don't see it coming at all!!
Never stop doing this series! Casper is perfect for the part, an excellent interviewer and host, and what a get in Alan Tudyk! keep up the great work SJ!
SEEK OUT RESIDENT ALIEN!! Just rewatched this 3 years later, still amazing. After this he did Doom Patrol and starred in Resident Alien, both cult shows.
Death at a Funeral is brilliant and Tudyk’s performance is nothing short of stellar, vocally and physically brilliant. Not an easy thing to do in such a talented cast. There is no way you could keep a straight face watching it. Such a joy!
Yes, yes, yes. Death at a Funeral (the original!) is one of THE best comedies I have seen, and Alan is brilliant in it. I am glad he mentioned it, and don't worry, Alan, some of us celebrate it!
i remember watching "Death at a Funeral" in January 2009, my cousin showed me this and I am so glad I got to watch it, Alan did an amazing job of his character in that movie. it's definitely one to watch if you love British/U.K. humour. Furthermore, Alan's voice roles are unrecognisable in some of his movies.
I have conversations with him often. He doesn't hear me. Not the real Alan, anyway. My invisible Alan is always very interested in what I have to say, tho. He loves my dogs, too. Great guy. Whacky fun. 😜
I do not know what I did to RUclips to get this rec, but I am glad I clicked. Tudyk is always a treat, but seeing Van Dien's perfect balance of well researched interview questions, relatable jokes, and self deprecation is *chef's kiss*.
I got tears in my eyes from him just talking about the death scene

"Death at a funeral", the good/original one, is one of my all time favorite movies! Watch it at least twice a year and bust a gut from laughter every time. 😄
Omg I love Casper!!! Alan is always a treat, but I really liked seing Casper conduct this amazing interview. What a total badass! Starship Troopers is one of my all time favs!
Lol - even though it says his name in the title I didn’t realise that it was Casper Van Dien interviewing him until they mentioned Starship Troopers 😂😂😂
Casper is a really amazing host, really enjoyed this, especially after my shitty day. Would love for more of these to be uploaded even though i know they probably won't. xoxo
"A Knight's Tale" is one of my faves. It's only bad because so many critics didn't get the jokes and they just focused on something else. I also love Tudyk in "Tucker & Dale versus Evil"
Just saw Tucker and Dale vs evil, hilarious movie and he was awesome in it! The first time I saw him was in a knights tale and his accent was so perfect I thought he was actually British after lol
3 years late to the party. Such great insight into Alan Tudyk. This is one of the best 1/1 interviews I have ever seen. I think near the end Van Dien forgot Alan doesn't know nerd stuff.. He probably cant name a lot of batman villains.
This is an excellent interview. I was surprised at how long it was because honestly, I don’t usually have the patience to sit through celebrity interviews that are much longer than fifteen minutes. Sad, I know. Anyway, I was lucky enough to go to one of the previews of Serenity in Austin. It was an incredibly excited crowd who was thoroughly dedicated to Firefly and Serenity, as you might imagine. Also important to note -there had been ZERO spoilers at that point. When Wash died, I swear that you could feel the crowd’s shock. No doubt I was projecting my feelings, but it was still one of the strangest moments I’ve ever been a part of. For a solid week I was both angry and amazed at Joss Whedon’s ability to seriously fuck with people. When the movie premiered, I went to Alamo Drafthouse the first night to see it. There was a guy dressed like Wash waiting in line. I felt terrible for him!
The one that caught my husband laughing is '28 days' with he & Sandra Bullock...the climbing scene "look at my package". I love Dale and Tucker. I have many friends that just love this guy. Thank you for posting this.
Love the show when originally air on Plus, short lived as it was, and this was my favorite episode, Alan is such a cool dude, nice that is available for everyone to watch.
28 days is one of my absolute favorites. Love the scene where he is impressed with his package and then lmao when he was upset that he killed his plant. I adore that movie and those funny scenes so much. I bet they where ones he added too. 💜💜🐉🐉
I don't know why RUclips decided that this ~3 year old video would be great to show me at 3am. But, Alan Tudyk is always a win.
Yeah...it just popped up on my feed now.
Also not complaining, Alan Tudyk is awesome.
Same here. Found in my recomended. Maybe, I think it may have to be his new TV show being an alien? Resident Alien.
Alien is a pretty good actor!
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Plus Casper Van Dien epic win.
*ding*
He’s earned his “always a win” status for a reason.
Yall just search for Resident Alien .. you can thank me later :)
I thought I was an Alan Tudyk fan. Now that this was recommended to me in 2021, I realize that I VASTLY undervalued the sheer talent of this man.
Agreed, but tbh I didn't realize some of his roles I liked, were even him. I have a feeling Resident Alien searches have something to do with this hitting recommended again.

"Alive."

Gotta give it to Casper Van Dien, he really prepared and conducted an engaging interview. Nice work!!!
yeah pretty good for a guy that got 36% in math at space academy
@@ghosthunterfallout 🤣🤣🤣
He was great in Con Man too.
Agreed! He is an excellent interviewer!
Wow. After seeing this, I realized Alan Tudyk is even more brilliant than I thought before.
Have you seen Dollhouse (another Joss Whedon series)? He is chillingly creepy in that. He really is an amazing actor.
Hey hindsight, you're here!

Has everyone been watching resident alien, it's absolutely fantastic 10/10 the best cast in a long, long time.
Resident Alien is fab. Alan is a comedy genius.
I will watch any show with Alan Tudyk, just because he is in it. His work plays a fantastic range from Alpha in Dollhouse to Tucker in Tucker & Dale. There is always an edge of humor in the range of his character.

I agree 100%. It should be a given.

@@gdelan1 what did they write? (take picture and post in imgur maybe?)
I still talk about killing space bugs. When I was playing Destiny 2 I often talked about getting "all Casper van Dien" on the walking bug tanks.
@@timmorris2048 - Programmers love Casper, he's the best debugger... 😁
Tucker and Dale is one of the few films I've recommended multiple times and it's always loved
Saw it for the first time last year and then bought it.
Casper Van Dien was surprisingly great. A real energy without feeling too fake.
Agreed, it's obvious they're friends and comfortable with each other
Death at a Funeral was the first movie I watched after my mom passed that made me laugh about anything. It was his character. Thank you Alan.
I like this. Just a really nice conversation.
What a great interview! Alan Tudyk is rarely so forthcoming; he tends to dodge questions that are too personal. I love how genuine he is here.

Same!!! I can never quite get over it. Damn you Joss Whedon
Alan Tudyk is this generation's Robin Williams.....just saying. He's absolutely brilliant!
Bold prediction cotton... let's see how it pans out.
Alan Tudyk is an American treasure.
"They breed!" and that look. 😂
Alan's accents are so good that I had to look him up to find out where he was from. Love his work.
The English Death at a Funeral killed me, loved Alan since then.
One of my favorite movies of all time! Alan was brilliant. HOW could the US version suck so badly.
@@laurahanna2216 agreed that is was not funny. Dinklage was great in both movies.
Tudyk is the maestro! I love him on Resident Alien. That is a show not to be missed!
22:55 I'm SO GLAD THEY KEPT THAT ONE IN!! It's so perfectly in-character, and yet, because it's been used so often, you still don't see it coming at all!!
His most memorable movie role to me is Steve The Pirate in Dodgeball! I would absolutely tell him that if I ever met him.
My favorite King Candy line is" he just glazed me".
Never stop doing this series! Casper is perfect for the part, an excellent interviewer and host, and what a get in Alan Tudyk! keep up the great work SJ!
This is one of the best interviews I've ever seen....
It really is.
Still my favorite underrated performance was Sonny in I, Robot.
Raghu: I loved Sonny. He made the film for me.
He definitely did. He was also great as the voice of Superman in Justice League War.
Also as the crazy lovable pirate in Dodgeball a True Underdog Story is just hilarious.
"I DID NOT MURDER HIM!"
He was really good in the TV show Powerless, He owned that character!
SEEK OUT RESIDENT ALIEN!! Just rewatched this 3 years later, still amazing. After this he did Doom Patrol and starred in Resident Alien, both cult shows.
K2SO was the best part of Rogue One.

I think Tudyk inspires that. Interviews he does with Nathan are same
Great!
I LOVE that the Starship Troopers armor actually brings these two together.
One of the best (and most honest) interviews w/ an actor I've ever seen!! Luv it!!
Death at a Funeral is brilliant and Tudyk’s performance is nothing short of stellar, vocally and physically brilliant. Not an easy thing to do in such a talented cast. There is no way you could keep a straight face watching it. Such a joy!

Headcanon confirmed, Starship Troopers and Firefly are the same universe...
Also, let there be "Dutch" in the Bumblebee spinoff film! The public demands!!!
Alan Tudyk will be even more of a cult hero when Resident Alien is done with !!
Alan is great but that show REALLY sucks!

I was honestly offended an American version was created because I loved the original so much.
Don’t you feel like Alan is the best friend you never had? I just want to have a conversation like this with him
He should do something with Adam Savage
I have conversations with him often.
He doesn't hear me. Not the real Alan, anyway. My invisible Alan is always very interested in what I have to say, tho. He loves my dogs, too. Great guy. Whacky fun.

I feel that the entire Firefly cast is like an extended family, that's why we love them.
What a fun casual conversation between two cool dudes.
The chicken joke at the end was the perfect finisher~
THe thing i most respect about the browncoats is that they basically garunteed a job for all the cast members of firefly.

This episode for the win. Casper is a great interviewer. Alan is iconic.

One of my favorite lines “Your entrails will be extrails!” Haven’t been able to watch “A Knight’s Tale” since Heath Ledger’s passing.
The original death at a funeral is absolutely hilarious
Death at a Funeral was a hilarious film with Alan. Truly a enjoyable film despite the title. 😂
nice, I'm not the only one who recognized Starship Trooper uniforms. LOL!
The movie that Casper Van dien shot in the Philippines was entitled "Showdown in Manila" with Mark Dacascos and Tia Carrere released 2015
Casper Van Dien is surprisingly nerdy.
