When Jim complimented Sasha you could just see how much that meant to him, even stating earlier on how intimidated he was being at the same table as him since he was such an inspiration for him. Awesome moment

Late night watching this episode, I see and hear a clear humbleness from the entire roundtable of all the entertainers. They all shared some deep inner memories. Liked

I have a lot of respect for Jim
He put so much into his craft that he had almost nothing real left outside of the gimmick that was Jim Carrey. He’s spent the last decade trying to find out who he is based on a bread crumb trail he’s left of himself inside of what he’s created.
I think that’s why he was so big on the “I’m myth I’m not real” thing.
He realized the what he thought was himself was just what the public thought he was
I've been a fan of Jim since the mid 90s and I am even more a fan since he's letting out his true personality since few years. He's extremely true to himself finally and he doesn't hide it anymore. I wish him all the best, love and health.
idk why but it really warmed my heart to see Jim Carrey’s genuine respect for Sasha Cohen’s work.
Perhaps it's due to Jim being considered by many [including myself] to be a comedic genius so him having admiration for someone speaks volumes about that person.

So happy I found this and a little sad I didn’t know about these table talks before. Every interview with Jim Carrey where he gets to be vulnerable and honest whilst also being funny always brings me to tears because he reminds me so much about my dad and how he used to be. The candor and vulnerability covered with humor was the embodiment of how I remember my dad and Jim Carrey will always remind me of the that beautiful hurting soul that I lost too soon.
I'm so sorry for your loss! My dad is fading away, so I kind of understand your pain, but from what you're writing, it sounds like you knew your dad at a deeper level. I hope that you are doing ok-ish, at least. Thank you for sharing this!

i love that all of these actors just went all in and were so vulnerable about their lives, careers, experiences, etc. also props to the interviewer for having such amazing questions, and letting the actors just have their own conversation and not interrupt them and try to force it.
The girl who hosted this interview is actually fantastic at what she does. Like, really, it's rare to a see host nowadays who just knows what to say & when & how to say it. What a great host.
She's mostly great, but it's bizarre that she keeps calling everyone "you" rather than using names when addressing specific actors. A bit off-putting.

I love that when Sacha said he was intimidated having Jim Carrey there, it was a switch for Jim. It was fascinating to see Jim put lots of effort into making eye contact with Sacha and the level of respect and validation he was giving him was incredible. He went on to compliment Sacha for his success and amazing skill of getting people to be vulnerable. It really showed a lot of Jim's character. He really is an amazing guy.

For context, apparently the first time Sacha met Jim was at a party. Jim was complaining about being single, and Sacha recommended a girl who walked past, who turned out to be Jim Carrey's daughter. He's not intimidated by Jim... he's embarrassed, which makes their interaction all the more interesting
when the class clowns all get detention on the same day.

Jim's a mastermind. Straight up genius level and his honesty about himself opened up the others, broke open the best table talk. The best table talks are when people put down their walls and are completely open honest about their fears, anxieties etc...that's what US people can relate to who are broken ourselves and struggling with moments of happiness. I love Henry Winkler.The Fonze!!❤️ Grew up with Happy Days. I could listen to these guys talk for hours it's actually soothing. Sacha is so engaging and phenomenal at what he does.I promise no more edits. Jim should've won an Oscar for Andy Kaufman. He literally became him. And Don for Hotel Rwanda was amazing!!
i have to say while i agree with most of it i feel if anyone is the mastermind is sacha, to come up with such incredible jokes on the spot while tricking some of the smartest people in the world into believing he's real. Insane.

How many times can I watch this episode of actors roundtable?? It's one of the best conversations of a group of actors I've ever seen.
I love seeing jim in his true self… admitting he’s broken… the media has taken his latest years and behaviors as being odd and out of character when truthfully he’s just be himself and isn’t afraid to be honest and raw … he doesn’t care about who he makes uncomfortable- he is who he is take it or leave it, no sugar coating and no wool over the eyes
Carey's compliment to Sacha about Borat was so sincere and honest that it felt like I was receiving the compliment.
These people are not amateur actors. I don't trust anything an actor says whether it's a compliment, criticism or some kind of political activism. Especially Jim Carrey because it's obvious he's uncomfortable in his own skin so he's always in some sort of character.

This is the most authentic actor table talk I’ve seen. Thanks to Jim for immediately making the rest of them feel like humans again
It's true what Henry said about himself, meeting fans and being able to be gracious no matter what. He passed through my hometown and ate at a popular local restaurant, many people talked fondly of their experience meeting him. He entertained pretty much everyone that wanted a moment with him. I hadn't seen much of his work but after hearing about him being in town and how nice he was I became interested in finding films or shows he had been in. All of the actors experiences and how they deal with fame are valid, in my opinion, but Henry's approach seems so kind to me.
This moderator did an exceptional job at letting them talk while guiding conversation. Really appreciate it.

excellent host, and some of the questions seemed improvised yet still quite intelligent. Also a huge shoutout to the editing and camera work. They caught a lot of the personality in the actors so subtly and the edited infoboxes filled in details unobtrusively.
Also a personal thanks to the one who close captioned over 60 minutes of content!
There is something very genuine the way Sacha and Jim speak about each other’s work.
I think they both have the lightest touch to the rail.

@@tone256 lol! Not the drug thing, but people use the expression clinging to the rails, like hanging on for dear life in a perilous situation. I think Baron Cohen and Carrey stretch themselves far into very dangerous spaces - Jim Carrey psychologicaly and Baron Cohen physically, holding very lightly to safety. I could also have said they go so far out on the slenderest and most fragile limb, their comedy hangs by a twig.

Just discovered this series. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen my favorite people talk earnestly about their human struggles. Brilliant format, more brilliant questions and it’s like I’m a for on the wall in group therapy. It’s almost like we shouldn’t be watching or hearing this. Wow I’ve taken a slightly better understanding of these people and it’s really nice.
Let’s all appreciate this interview she did a phenomenal job. Asked great questions, never interrupted, let the conversation grow....Fantastic job!

I haven't watched TV in years. Went home and saw my dad watch the news on CNN made me feel nostalgic...like remember Larry King Live? On CNN? Wasn't it huge, lol...I now see him on RT thru RUclips and it's like dang, what a transition...feels worse tbh, though qualitatively better. Weird huh.
Because without TV most of them wouldn't be so famous and therefore you wouldn't have this specific content haha. But I don't watch TV anymore since 2009. Just saying.
I haven't seen TV since 2003 give or take. Internet has changed the game, I really love this kind of content, wher you choose what to see when to see it without any previous given pre selection...that would be Netlfix tbh.

I’m sick of hearing the tortured artist angle. It’s so cliched by now and you don’t have have to be a tortured soul to be an actor or comedian.
But it's so common. My mother says if a comedian is really funny they must have some demons behind the scenes.

It's always amazing to me how many people reach their 50's and 60's before they truly feel comfortable enough to just fit in and enjoy the moment. Important lessons to learn for sure. Hopefully one I will learn some day.
When Jim complimented Sacha, I felt that. Imagine being complimented by someone you look up to, and feeling like you can genuinely feel proud of what you've accomplished.
I'd love to have an experience like that. The closest thing I've experienced was the rapper Hopsin listening to one of my songs, but his feedback was mildly critical, which hurt my feelings, I was disappointed. Perhaps I had unrealistic expectations of getting a proper compliment, but it was an opportunity to get that validation that just didn't turn out as I expected.

But just think of it this way, he respected you enough not to give you a sugar coated opinion and instead give you constructive feedback that might actually help you. Use it and consider incorporating his advise where it can be. I know sometimes it's nice just to hear that you're doing the right thing so that you can be more confident in that, but it's also sometimes important to hear the criticism too, that's what makes us stronger in the long run.

When Jim mentions how he'd rather have a chat with someone because "selfies stop the world", he's right. I've been on the opposite end of that.
I recently met a (fairly minor) celebrity at the end of a football match, and as we were all leaving, everyone who walked past him stopped to take a selfie with him, and to be honest, the guy looked a little bit bored. He'd put on a fake smile for the photo, but then the person would move on so the next person could take their selfie with him. There was very little interaction other than exchanging a "cheers mate!"
I, on the other hand, don't even own a smartphone, so when I got to him, I didn't signal him for a selfie, I just said hello. I shook his hand. We made eye contact. We had a chat and a laugh, And even though it was only for about 30 seconds or so, he genuinely seemed happy to actually talk to someone for a change, rather than just smile and be a 'prop' for someones social media post.

I've been a driver for various national well known actors and actrices in my country for 10 years in the past, most of them have some kind of deep emotional trauma which is the reason for them to have developed skills which pushes them towards the profession. It got discussed on the phone (with others) or in the car amongst themselves or with me regularly. Especially when they had something to drink beforehand. Always trying to fix yourself, with the feedback of others. Great to see this being acknowledged here at this table.
