I was just going to comment this. So true. She keeps it so much more fluid and lets them play off each other more. It really frustrates me when they have these incredible masters of their craft and cut them off when they start to flow together, probably just ruining what could have been a great nugget of conversation.
The interviewer was great. She did a really good job with controlling the conversations and leading the questions. That's especially hard to do with comedians. And she knew about their careers and comedy in general which is awesome. Round of applause for her.
I was impressed when Fred Armisen brought up Alec Guinness in Kind Hearts and Coronets, a British movie from 1949, and the host said "Oh yeah he was great!" so casually.
I get you but my preference is to allow more flow in the conversation instead of the focus being on her. Ricky Gervais helped to open up the conversation. Kudos to all.

As a born Londoner I'll say that Ricky is 100% right in what he says about the UK humour. I've worked in a local office setting and government healthcare sector as a support worker and both environments he sets in his shows, the office and on Derek is 100% very relatable to me. That thing about British people supporting the underdog is real talk, then the minute they make it it's like we think....look at that bloody sell out, who does he think he is....type thing lol
After moving to the south (ATX) from living in Milwaukee my whole life, I've learned to use sarcasm and dry humor very sparingly. I'm literally overjoyed when I find someone I can joke like that with down here.

I learnt nothing new here. They were all joking and being superficial. The other guy cuts the crap and gets them to talk seriously. To see that acting and Hollywood isn’t all fame and money and an easy life.
Ricky Gervaises thing about people mistaking subject of the joke for target is so on point. It's not that political correctness is necessarily dumb, whats really dumb is people who don't understand where the humor of a joke is, and get offended by jokes that are in reality, not offensive.

It's rare to see someone manage to handle that level of celebrity presence, manoeuvring the conversation deftly down the most entertaining pathways while remaining both congenial and functionally invisible. I see a lot of the comments here directed at the woman running the show, Stacey Wilson, and I just gotta throw one more in because wow, she is absolutely amazing. It's rare to see someone manage to handle that level of celebrity presence, manoeuvring the conversation deftly down the most entertaining pathways while remaining both congenial and functionally invisible. A lot of hosts wear an uncomfortably obvious agenda on their sleeve, or have a tendency to seem disingenuous when asking questions or directing topics; she's affable, to-the-point, inspires instant respect while simultaneously putting people at ease, and you never once get the sense that she's being fake in any way. Fantastic.
Fred Armisen would make a great faux Woody Allen!
I havent laughed so hard in a long time. This was so refreshing to see. Everyone here vibed so well!
I completely agree. I laughed so hard watching this. I think I've figured out that I would rather watch a Comedy Actors Roundtable than just an Actors or Director's Roundtable.
Thomas' Paul Lynde impersonation is hilariously spot-on!
I watch this every few months and I'm sure thats due to the quality of this roundtable; rather than putting a band-aid on my depression.
If you haven't watched Derek outtakes, you're missing out. Seriously I've never laughed so hard in my life.
The caravan outtakes always make me cry with laughter
THESE. ARE. AMAZING. Collecting so much talent at one moderately sized table is a FKIN brilliant formula for hilarity.
51:02 i lost it at gervais' impression of peele.
He is sooo offensive it’s funny
How those guys all play off each other is a treat!
I could watch days of THIS round table!!!
The best collection of people we didn't know we needed
49:50 Peele HAS to do a lethal weapon skit as danny glover. jesus christ i was laughing so hard. genius impression!
Phil Hartman deserves all the love! He was truly amazing
The show Derek is criminally underrated comedy
In my Top 5 all time comedies. The best that Gervais has ever made. All his shows are brilliant.
