Sam rockwells demeanor is like that of a student just dying to pick their brains. So modest and inquisitive. Also it was great when Tom and him reminisced about the Green Mile and Tom talked about how excited he would be when watching Sam act in that.

Gary Oldman has been my favourite actor since i saw Bram Stokers Dracula when i was 13 (im 36 now) He is probably the most talented & diverse actor on this planet. Tom Hanks is my second favourite actor of all time , so this Table Talks is my favourite one to watch.

@@infinitesummers you still need to have some one there to guide the conversation but the editing makes it seem significantly worse then it actually is because they're trying to cut out every second if "dead air" time instead of letting the conversation end then go on to the next question.

If editing means interrupting speakers all the time and sucking the life out of organic conversations, then this man has edited the hell out of a lot of roundtables.
Tom Hanks seems like such a simple, easygoing guy, when in reality he’s far more complex and layered than what meets the eye, as shown by this interview. Really interesting person to have lots of meaningful conversations with.

IMHO Gary Oldman and Willem Dafoe are two of the greatest actors of our time. How great is to have them both on this roundtable. I'd like to see them together in a movie
Just finished watching. I swear I could watch another five hours of them talking! Gary Oldman and 19th century wet plate photography whaaaaat. And his excitement to work with Harmony. And that nice bit of shade thrown at James -- "Do you agree with that, James?" So many great moments.
If that's actually the case then the editors are REALLY phoning it in or they hate the interviewer. There are so many opportunities to cut a story short in the edit that don't make it look like the actors are being cut off by the interviewer
These roundtables are the most amazing things to watch. The conversation, the interaction between actors/actresses that may have never been in movies/tv shows before, it's great... the hour talk seems like 15 minutes.
I love Willem’s answer at the end. “Probably a cook or a farmer” so genuine and he was so respectful throughout the entire conversation. Made me love him as Ana an actor even more. I wish Gary would have mentioned something about Sid and Nancy. And I’m surprised Hanks didn’t mention a few of his iconic roles. Great convo but needed to be longer in order to get everyone’s opinions better.
Why do they get so uncomfortable? I don't understand. I mean, isnt It terrible that colleagues of them are perpetrators? I don't get their silence, can someone share their po?
@@itzelmayoral729 I think it's just that they wanted to make sure they didn't speak clumsily. It's a huge, heavy topic, so a quick response could have come across as glib. And of course it's uncomfortable: every male actor these days has gotta be wondering "did I miss an opportunity to do something about this? Have I been in a situation where I ignored a sign and let one of my female colleagues get harrassed (or worse)?". Besides anything else, Tom's probably the most experienced interviewee out of all of them, so it's not surprising he has the confidence to jump in pretty quickly. I read it more as the others wanting a moment to think about it, rather than wanting to keep just quiet
You should be able to make stories about anything, it's your perspective and if its wrong then that's that, but u should be able to tell stories however you want

He's a phenomenal actor but I think it was a bit unfair on him to put him with this bunch, he would have had more scope to contribute in a different group
From what I've seen in these roundtable videos, they seem to always include actors at different points of their careers because it allows us to see very different perspectives. I think he did great here!
I have a lot of tech waiting for me at home. Which would you like to see videos on first? I know we’re never the first, but I strive to be the amongst the best.
Wow, just look at where John Boyega is. A few years ago he was just another young guy on a South London neighbourhood a bus ride away now he is seated among the finest and influential actors in Hollywood. The power of chasing your dreams eh?
Benjamin Shabu Such a shame that he's so poorly utilized in Star Wars. He has so much potential and yet he's a paper thin character with no arc and no purpose who serves merely as bad comedic relief.
Franky Google Nah because apparently he was strong in Detroit but I haven't seen it yet and he looked mediocre in the trailer. I hope he's not another Dev Patel 😂
These roundtables and the way the interviewers facilitate conversation are so massively underrated. I learn more from watching 10 minutes than I could in a lifetime of those fluffy late night interviews...
Tom was the only one that actually addressed the question about sexual harassment, all the other actors looked uncomfortable and avoided it. It's nice when an actor is good at his job, but when they're good and decent in real life, like Tom Hanks, well, that's everything.
No... He wasn't doing what you think he was doing, or whatever you've been told he was doing, alright? Tom actually could be the most suspicious on this issue, for his lengthy explanation.
Still watching the video and haven't reached that part yet but both James Franco and Gary Oldman have done some shady stuff to women in the past. Which would explain their silence on the subject.

Why is the star wars dude listed and Sam Rockwell or Willem Dafoe not? Both have had extremely prolific careers, and they chose the star wars guy? They weren't even good star wars movies...
@johnDomain I mean... this is wrong? Woody Allen was accused of sexual assault a long time ago and still makes movies every year. If anything, laws are supremely biased for men. Men are so infrequently pursued or convicted of sexual crimes that most women who are assaulted don't even try until someone else tries first, which is why Weinstein went from one allegation to 100 and they all had merit, but still took ages to actually convict him. Women are underrepresented in law so commonly that there are still states where they don't have bodily autonomy, let alone biased court rooms
@@mudgernz1 i wouldn't say that they're under represented in most divorce cases the woman ends up with the child even if the father is the better parent. Women are believed a lot more in sexual assault and rape cases as well as harassment. One rape accusation can ruin a man's life and there's a lot of false cases now and most women get a slap on the wrist for falsely accussing them. It's a shame cause all the false ones make it hard to believe the real ones now and when men come out with rape or harassment accusations a lot of people don't believe them. And when men are accused they are most of the time guilty until proven innocent look at the johnny depp case everyone was so ready to cancel him and he was believed to have done it until the truth came out.

IMHO Gary Oldman and Willem Dafoe are two of the greatest actors of our time. How great is to have them both on this roundtable. I'd like to see them together in a movie

to be fair to the interviewer, I think a lot of the 'interruptions' were created in the editing room to keep the segment under an hour
Make it 2-3 hours
If that's actually the case then the editors are REALLY phoning it in or they hate the interviewer. There are so many opportunities to cut a story short in the edit that don't make it look like the actors are being cut off by the interviewer
if they posy it on youtube they dont have to cut anything , tho its probably a good idea

Also, after Tom's answer, the interviewer asks "Does everyone agree? ... James?" LOL.
