    I love your hat pattern however I didn’t understand the need for the Slip stitch single crochet and chain two crochet stitch, I omitted that part and made it seamless I love the look without the seam beautiful pattern I’ve made 4 already for charities.

    I'm 55 years old and I've been crocheting since I was 7 years old. I've been looking for a simple, crocheted beanie for a man. Something different from what I've been crocheting. And I just came across your tutorial. I loved it. So, I subscribed to your channel. Thank you for sharing.

      Hi Vicky! So nice to meet you! I'm 54. My husband was 'nagging' me to make this tutorial. So I did it, so now he gets to gloat! Haha. He sees it as 'his' tutorial. I also made a tutorial for fingerless gloves, and although it is my hands on the thumbnail, I made some for my husband because he likes to wear it. Men and women can wear it. Thank you so much for subscribing. We also do livestreams on Mondays and Fridays where we 'hang out'. If it's not your thing - and it's not everybody's thing, then just ignore those notifications. But some ppl love to just grab their cuppa and project and hang out with us. Anyone is welcome. Have a blessed weekend my friend.

    Thank you for the video. Important don’t normally comment on videos but in this case wanted to thank you for the simple act of counting your stitches at the end of each round.
    I have been trying to make a beanie for two days and struggled to get past round 6 because at the end needing 72 stitches each round I would somehow increase by 1-4 stitches. I have undone, counted, undone and counted several times. I’m hoping this will help me!

    THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! I just finished this beanie and wanted to say how increibly easy it was to make this beanie; counting after every row helped so much. I loved your phrase "the fake crochet" which kept me on the correct stitch. I loved the sc ch2..pracically invisible seam as well and all of the other tips you provided. I used an H hook, 4 medim acrylic yarn and did add extra round of increase and length to accomidate for the size I needed. I am "hooked" on your tutorials!!

The wait you explain the increases is very helpful and will help me with all of the other projects I make. Only thing I did differently was I started with a magic circle. Once you master that I think it starts off the circles much cleaner.

    worked this one with you.. i like it. I think I would do it in the round rather than rows, slip stitching each end. This will be a favorite pattern because it is so easy yet so beautiful! 😘

    on row 5 im only getting 58 stithes ive rechecked a dozen times and its right

      At the end of row 4 you should have 48 stitches. Did you have 48 stitches at the end of row 4? Which means you should have 48 + 12 = 60 stitches at the end of row 5. In row 5, did you work one increase (meaning two double crochet stitches in the same stitch), and 3 double crochet stitches in the next 3 stitches and then repeat?? Because that is the pattern for row 5.

      Not yet! We don't really wear hats that often. Only since last year that it was very cold did my husband start wearing hats. Thanks for watching.

    Loved your video, very clear to follow. I started my husband's beanie right after watching your video. Can you tell me please how many cm. from the end of the crown to the bottom? I want to surprise him so cant measure on his head. Thank you

    • @OMGrannySquare
      @OMGrannySquare  9 месяцев назад +2

      23 cm or 9 inches from crown to edge of the hat. I measured the one that my husband wears often. But I think he has a big head. My head is smaller,

      I made also 9" but that's because I ran out of yarn, I used leftover ball of yarn. It fits my husband and he is happy. I copied your smart idea of starting with ch3 and making the 1st chain as a magic loop. So much easier than the magic loop. I will use it from now on. But instead of working in rows I worked just one row all the way down, around and around so don't have to bother with the 1sc and ch2 at the beginning and absolutely no seam line anywhere. Do you have other projects on youtube? thank you

    Very nice tutorial. The sc+ch2 is genius! I would ask, however, that you not make us watch all of the counting 60 (or however many) stitches!
