    You made my day ❣️ I am 64. Been crocheting for 56 yrs off and on. I don't do that many different stitches. I get intimidated. I can't read a pattern. You have changed it all. My beanies have always been the rectangular double crochet. Cinched at the top. I finished yours and it's beautiful. Christmas presents are on the way. Thank you so much. Looking forward to seeing and learning more from you❣️ thank you again! HAPPY HOOKING 😊

    I love this hat, I just made one longer than the bottom of my ears and made a cuff fold. warmer ears, the stretch is awesome. Just started another one. The stretch is nice because it fits a smaller head or a bigger one. I made several of your waffle pattern hats, but as far as fit goes this is much easier. I just left the bottom as is and folded it up. Thank you!

      Mentioning new tips from FiSpi… I ❤️the way you, FiSpi, use the crochet hook in such a way for it to be an extension of your finger tips! A really economical movement (for speed & using less energy) -so clever😊Those lovely hooks & you ❤each other!?! Wish I could use them (even if you still can buy those partic ones…)but they twizzle around in my hand too much & I lose direction! Thank you j c 🦜🦜

    This is a fantastic tutorial.
    I notice some people are doubting the size.
    I have made several of these beanies and after round 6 when you have 72 stitches if it measures 5.5"-6" it will fit a adult head.
    Also it takes a while for it to take the shape of a beanie it might look like a "saucer" just keep going around and make sure you maintain 72 stitches you'll be good to go✔️💯

    • @KiyoNanni
      @KiyoNanni 5 месяцев назад

      Will the 72 stitch size fit a n adult with a head size measuring 22.5”?

    • @walterwhite5100
      @walterwhite5100 5 месяцев назад +1

      @KiyoNanni Yes it should indeed my head is roughly the same circumstance.
      Of course it depends on your tension I have fairly tight tension and it fits me great.
      This hat has a fair bit on stretch once completed.

    • @KiyoNanni
      @KiyoNanni 5 месяцев назад

      @@walterwhite5100 thank you for you comment. I decided to change the hook size to K from round 7, to make it large enough to fit a head circumference of 23", and it turned out too large, and my son in law was "swimming' in it, so I went back down to hook size J, and it worked out just fine. In the video instructions, no mention was made of the head circumference this pattern would fit, for instance from head circumference 22 " to 23". For me, my head circumference is 21.5 and I had to go down to hook size I for the final 3 rows. All good now!

    Always glad to see this pattern. I have been making this pattern in its many variations for at least forty years and trying to spread the word. Thank you for posting it so that more people can learn this wonderful pattern. It also works very well in all front post, or front post with ribbing at the bottom, or even a sort of basket weave. My personal preference is for 14 stitches at the beginning, and seven lines of increase, which, yes, show up sharply. Also, over time, I worked out how to work this pattern as a spiral, so there is no obvious line where you move to the next row. Try it!
